hope your DD's blood results go well.

I don't think you working and getting a childminder and cleaner would solve things as you would prob be financially worse off and also looking after 2 young children is a full time job - not just when the childminder has them . Keep up the good work -you are doing great:D

There is rarely a right answer on the working vs stay at home debate.....

I have worked all the way through - didn't even take maternity leave.........and relied heavily on nannies, childminders, holiday clubs etc for many years. I did have a cleaner at one point and would dearly love to have one again. When it works for you, it works well. But if it doesn't work then it just brings extra "stuff" into the equation.

Personally, I am no good without my work.....I am not cut out for domestic goddess-ness.......!!

  • Okay here goes.

My lovely mum, has sent a surprise down for us apparently the first one of three.

I opened the box and there were two selection boxes for each of the kids, which is lovely :) and two envelopes.

In the first envelope there are four full Tesco cards, equating to £200  in the second card is a clubcard for the Tesco Christmas Club thing along with £150 of vouchers and money off coupons

I'm Godsmacked! I don't know if I should accept them. She has stated on the envelopes that she has given my brother and his wife the same before the fall out....but even so.

She has stated that we must spend them before New Year.

What a lovely mum you have.

She has given you a gift that she knows will be spent on things that you need, cash has a nasty habit of disappearing from our purses.
With the Tesco cards, you can go and do a couple of stock up shops as well as getting some clothes for the kids.

Have you decided what to get yet....I would have a virtual trolley and get the tins and dried stuff for a few months.

My OH arrives home and I can tell by the look on his face that he wonders what I have done all day

Top Tip of the day....Mr Sheen used as air freshener works wonders ;)

Hope DD's blood test comes back ok.

Good luck with this. I will be following. I need a bit of a money challenge for the new year. I always put shrapnel away and have spending down to a minimum. Want something to save my money and make it fun. Any ideas?
    :p
