  • Thought you guys might like my pancake recipes - I have posted it on the slimming world thread but there may be a couple on here that don't go to that one!

    1 Egg per pancake
    2-3 Teaspoons sweetener (depending on own taste)
    3-4 Drops of vanilla essence

    First separate the white from the yolk and put into separate bowls, Whisk the egg white until fluffy and add the sweetener, In the other bowl add the vanilla essence then fold the yolk into the egg white
    Heat a frying pan with frylight, add the mix and spread as you would a normal pancake after a few mins flip over (But do be careful they are much more delicate than a regular pancake) And then Hey presto scrummy syn free pancakes

    You could add cinnammon, strawberries or fruits of the forest as an alternative once cooked. I always add blueberrys with a spoonful of creme fraiche (low fat of course) and drizzle a tbsp of blueberry syrup over the top for a treat!

    :D
    When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!
  • hi everyone,
    I've lost 3 lbs!!!
    Really chuffed as still been having little treats and eating normally, just a bit healthier.
    Yesterday had
    b=2 toast and marmalade
    l=tuna sandwich and quavers
    d=trout, sweet potato, carrots, peas
    s=apple, banana, biscuit x 3

    Today
    b=porridge
    l=small tin beans on 2 toast
    d=sweet and sour (jar) chicken, egg fried rice (hm)
    s=banana, apple, raisins

    Just a couple of questions. I know loads of you have porridge in the mornings. What sort of portion do you have? my pack says 50g oats to 300ml milk. I've just had this and it seemed a lot.
    Also, I want to try to make a lower fat egg fried rice tonight but only have brown rice in. Has anyone done this?
    Ta! katie

    *shuffles back sheepishly to thread*

    I am feeling quite depressed and rubbish at this losing weight stuff. It seems as soon as I decide to lose weight I put on a stone! Not sure what I weigh at the moment but must be close to 14 stone which is very demoralising as before christmas I was about to push through the 12 stone barrier.

    Just have to figure out how to stay in the positive mode and not get all sluggish and lazy I suppose. I think it helps to control my eating earlier in the day as if I slip up then it makes it harder to control things later on - cos I've messed up the day already eh?

    Will have a proper read of the thread now and get some inspiration before I head out to the shops.

    Meal plan for today:

    Breakfast: 2 bananas

    Mid-morning: campbells mushroom soup

    Lunch: apple, small salad

    Dinner: hm veg and mixed bean curry with rice and quinoa

    Re porridge: you should have only 1oz of porridge per person (that's between 25g and 28g). I use the cup method, I weighed 1oz of oats, then poured that into an old measuring cup I have, it came to half. So now I use 1/2 my cup of porridge with 1 cup of liquid, usually a mixture of water and soya milk, in a 1 litre glass jug. I blast it in the microwave for 3 mins, then stir and add some raisins (half a handfull), add some more liquid if it needs any and then blast for another 3 mins, and that's it. I may add some more milk once it's in the bowl, and sometime sprinkle some sugar on top, scrummy! I do use jumbo oats, but you can use any porridge oats, but it may need less time, just check and see what wotrks best for you. I have this on cooking while I make up the boys' lunch boxes in the morning. Often DH wants some too, so I double the quantities.

    Hope this helps.

    Bye the way STS this week, which I am really pleased with as I am in the TOTM eating turmoil, which is particularly bad this month!

    I will pop in over the weekend. Hopefully you will all have a good Valentines' Day tomorrow. DH and DS2 are away at the GLos match all afternoon and DH is away at a meeting in the evening...suppose I will have to make the most of the morning then!

    frogga, you're doing so well and are a total inspiration! I will cling to the wagon a bit tighter too. :D

    I've already eaten more than I planned for today, though nothing too outrageous - a banana and two weightwatchers desserts (100 cal each) :o
    and instead of a small salad for lunch had a roll with salmon pate.

    Occupied myself with making a valentines card for OH so that took my mind off the fridge for a while.

    They taste just like the little ones so if you like those they are a great birthday cake, :T
    I didn't need to know that :p I do like a fondant fancie. Normally have to be peeled off the ceiling after the suger rush:rotfl: . Well this week it's a 1lb on which was no surprise as I had a dicky tum from Sunday onwards - I've avoided cow's milk products for many years, but the family were round and I made custard with real milk and had some as 'it won't kill me', true - but I felt bleurgh for days after and became rather attached to my loo:o . Stick to the soya milk I think. Did try a lactofree yoghurt yesterday and no dire effect there and was yummy after years of soya yoghurt!

    Frogga - good to see you are doing well - keep up the good work :T
    Retiredlady - well done on sticking to your plan, I will have to get back on the wagon until next thursday as Friday is my 'work' birthday with cakes etc and Saturday is my birthday! Back on the wagon the following Monday!

    Well done all the losers and keep going to those that are stuck in a rut!
