Welcome kippaxmum and well done on your weight loss so far! Well done to pollys on your loss too!

hope you are all having a lovely evening! Where abouts in Canada are you from Marion? My cousins used to live on lake Michigan and I loved to go there in summers as a teenager.

I am from the West of Canada, born in Alberta and lived mainly in Alberta and BC growing up with some time in Saskatchewan. My Dad was a carpenter and we tended to go where the work was! I met my husband in Yellowknife in the NWT and we married in Calgary. I have been going to Canada every 2 years but now that I am retired I may not be able to go so often.:o
I have however been invited by some cousins to meet them in New York for a week in May, I am considering going!:D

    Love

  • Recovering spendaholic, that's stracciatella. I just finished an Italian course with the OU and food came up a lot, including that soup. It's supposed to be made with chicken stock, eggs, parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs tho! Your friend's recipe sounds a lot healthier.

Thanks for this! I know its meant to have parmesan in but my friend's Mum didn't like it so she left it out! I didn't know about the breadcrumbs, but whenever we got it at my friend's house we got it served in bowls poured over broken up bread and butter - it was divine! I thought I had better 86 the bread in my version tonight given what I had already eaten today. How did you learn a language with the OU? I would love to learn a language but don't know how that would work with OU.

    That's a fantastic loss Kippaxmum :T

Yesterday I ate too much really BUT managed to resist biscuits chocolate and beer. So a victory of sorts. Now just need to address the portion sizes and the breakfasts that seem to go on all morning. :D Part of the problem is that my monster baby has me up all night then really early, so I have breakfast about 5.30/6, then I'm hungry again at 8! And because I'm so tired the willpower goes to pot and instead of a banana I'll have buttery toast and sugary tea. :o

    Yesterday had:

breakfast: musli, banana, hot choc options drink

    lunch: another bowl of muesli

tea: 2 hunks of bread and butter with salmon paste, and hot choc drink

dinner: hm prawn pad thai (soooo good, but must find out how to make less calorific after I realised 1 tin coconut milk is about 700 calories  )

    Today:

breakfast: bread with butter and honey and sugary tea :o

lunch: cauliflower crispbake with lots of veg (using up carp things in the freezer)

dinner: root veg mash with peas, carrots and gravy ( my perfect comfort winter food when OH is away

    Snacks: banana, hot choc drink

Not too good on the protein front though today, might add an egg in somewhere!

JoJoB, I use light coconut milk, it can be a b**ger to find, think I get it in Sainsburys, but it's ace. I love a thai curry but have to be very careful with fat content.
    Weight loss to date - 8st 13lbs :j
  • Good morning everyone. Off to t he radio station for part 2 of my course this morning.

Want to try and make a bacon and leek type soup (any recipes), as I have a lot of it in the house lol. If it fails I have fri-lite eggs and light chips as a back up.

Oooh I've been to Alberta and BC - once, some years ago. Stayed in Banff and went to Lake Louise, Sunshine Village and Mount Norquay skiing.... those were the days - the days where holidays were put on credit cards :o

Well done to all the losers.

    Food today is:
b: oats soaked in water, honey and nana
l: minestrone soup (the one from my post yesterday ;))
    d: chilli wraps

snacks: summer fruit crumble - no cream or custard or anything ;)

Good Morning All, raining and overcast again! Sounds like a good day to be in my bedroom having a good old sort out and seeing what I can take to the charity shop - after I take Charlie to the park of course!;)

I am as usual and probably will be for the rest of my life doing EE!:j

Breakfast - half a pack of quark mixed with a couple of WW prune yogurts and a handful of fresh blueberries spooned onto 5 scan brans. (that should get me going:D) (free, free, free, 2.5 syns)

Lunch - HM bubble & squeak from last nights left over mash & cabbage although I will add some onion, with thick sliced ham and a couple of poached eggs. (free)

Dinner - HM chilli with vegetable rice. May make up a sugar free jelly for later although I am trying to get away from eating in the evenings. I have a big dinner at around 7pm - do I really need to be eating something 2 hours later? No I don't, it is just a habit which I will try get rid of!

Milk in my coffees will be my HEA and will use some parmeson cheese in my vegie rice as a HEB!

    Love
