Hi All,
can I join you? I'm not following any specific diet plan but am watching what I eat (have been following WW but not getting anywhere)
I've already lost 5 stone but have still got 2 to go to get to target. Reporting in & making new friends at the same time should help keep me on target

Welcome Kippaxmum and congratulations on your weight loss so far. It's inspiring.
I had a strange thing happen today. I planned to go to Aldi to go shopping for the in-laws visit and ended up at Sainsburys (no, that wasn't the strange thing, I know how it happened!). Now S isn't somewhere I plan to shop on a budget so I resigned myself to forgetting the budget for this week.
Too soon! I picked up a massive bunch of parsley which is now chopped, frozen in ice cubes and costed at half what I have been paying recently. I also found leeks cheaper than I have seen in a while so picked up a kilo (I feel leek and potato soup coming on) and a ready to roast neck of lamb that works out at only £1.14 per person and which grandma can stick in the oven just before I get home from work! Also 6 peppers for £1.42
You just never can tell!
Costs today - £1.83 leaving £9.23Popsy0 -

Welcome kippaxmum and well done on your weight loss so far! Well done to pollys on your loss too!
I have loved all the soup recipes and the sausage casserole one too, although I HATE quorn sausages so will use the low fat ones instead I think. I made a soup for tea tonight as I thought I would give myself an additional 500 calories. The soup is called Strachiatelle (the spelling might not be right but my friend's mum gave me the recipe ages ago and she's Italian so I don't know how to spell it properly). It is just leftover chopped cold chicken - I used about 250g, 4 knorr chicken cubes made up into stock (about 3 pints), a bunch of chopped spring onions, 50g rice, 75g spaghetti broken up into little bits and salt and pepper to taste. You just bung it all in and boil for about 45 minutes and then quickly stir in 2 beaten eggs. It sounds yucky but it's really really nice!
I am cross tonight because I have eaten more than I should have today. I will cut back tomorrow if possible to compensate.
All kinds of things make me overeat - today it was stress at the state of the bathroom - it has been being remodelled for ages and overnight the new shower leaked and soaked all the new plaster so it couldn't be tiled and I had to get the plumber back in... there is dust all over the house from the knocking about and everywhere is all higgledy piggledy.
hope you are all having a lovely evening! Where abouts in Canada are you from Marion? My cousins used to live on lake Michigan and I loved to go there in summers as a teenager.Jane
