  • Sorry to hear about your friend Moneypooh half a pound is nothing in those circumstances.

Spugz - well done for not overreacting to your Manager's comment - comments like that send me right to the food cupboard and fridge.

Marion - are you orginally from Canada then? I think that the heart pendant thing is a lovely idea.

Well, it is 12.46 and I have consumed ALL of my alloted calories for today. I missed breakfast and was starving by 11am. Instead of having a brunch I thought I would just have a couple of crackerbread and then wait, but 2 led to 4 led to 6 and then I started with toast - all with margarine! , half a packet of prawn crackers and 5 american hard gum sweets. I have just had my lunch of jacket potato and instead of the low calorie coleslaw I was going to have I had butter in the potato plus creamy coleslaw and half a tin of corned beef.:o I have entered it all into the food diary online and I have 71 calories left for the rest of the day:eek: I think that I feel full enough now to last until tomorrow, but realistically I will make a sugar free jelly and have a bit of low cal soup with it at tea time and see how I go. You can "borrow" calories from another day but I don't really want to IYKWIM. I am hopeless at this losing weight.......

rs - that's why I can't buy ritz crackers!! I eat them box at a time then look for more things to eat :o

moneypooh - just do what you feel for a little while - sometimes weight loss can wait for a little bit.

Off for a walk - if my weight won't reduce then I'll make sure my bum does!!! :D

Edit: spugz - have you thought of making your soup? cheaper and usually much nicer - plus you can control what fat etc goes in it ;)

Well that's the general plan in the long term! I'm trying to convert all my food to HM both for reasons of MSE and health and the fact taht I figure if I'm cooking, I'm not snacking! I'm at work at the mo though so it's out of the question right now! Any nice recipes (that don't involve a blender!) appreciated!

    .

Yes I am Canadian born and bred!:D Although I have lived in England now for 30 years (where did the time go:eek:) Both of my girls were born in Canada, however my husband is English.

The memorial heart with my Mom inside isn't a pendant by the way it is quite a large heavy heart and weighs about 300g. It is about the size of an apple!

moneypooh - sorry to hear about your friend, food is usually the last thing on our minds at times like these.

Marion - hope you get a better nights sleep tonight, bit of a suprise getting the ashes in the parcel. How do you make your quorn sausage casserole?

    commiserations to newlywed x

    1 large onion,
    8oz carrots,
    1tsp dried mixed herbs,
1/2pt Bovril stock (or an oxo cube @ 1 syn),
    12 Quorn sausages
    500ml carton passata,
    250gm pack chestnut mushrooms,
    Salt & freshly ground pepper.

Prepare the vegetables; peel & finely chop the onion & peel and slice the carrots. Place the vegs in a large saucepan with the herbs. Add the stock, bring to boil, reduce heat, cover & simmer for about 5 mins or until vegs are just tender. Remove lid & cook for 2 mins until stock has reduced a little.

Preheat the grill to a hot setting and cook the Quorn sausages as per pack instructions. Remove from grill & cut into chunks.

Transfer the sausages to the vegetable pan and add passata. Bring to the boil, reduce heat, cover & simmer for about 5 mins.
Wipe the mushrooms, cut in half & stir into the casserole along with the salt & pepper to taste. Continue to cook for 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender & cooked through.

Serve immediately on warmed serving plates with green vegs.
