Hi all. For some reason didnt eat breakfast or lunch yesterday. Dont know why, just didnt feel like it.
Today is a bit of a mixed up day. I dont like to have breakfast till I get back from dropping the kids off at school. That way I dont have to rush it. But today I start a course in Radio Production straight after dropping the kids off (daughter at school and son at nans as he still isnt fit for school) so Im not having breakfast.
Lunch is an unknown quantity as it will probably be at my nans when I pick my son up.
Tea is also unknown. If the guy comes to fit to cooker by 4.30 its slim style egg and chips. If he doesnt its gonna have to be something from the chippy as I have nothing for the slow cooker either.
So there we have it, I have no idea what I am eating all day. And it feels really wierd:eek:0 -
Can anyone help?
Looking for Sausage casserole recipe (not fattening one lol) preferably one I can chuck into slow cooker - any ideas pls?
Here are 3 I have used - not sure where I got the recipes from though!:D
Spicy sausage ragout
1 red pepper
1 yellow pepper
2 onions
2 cloves of garlic
1 tin of chopped tomatoes
6 Quorn sausages
1 tsp chicken Bovril
2tsps fennel seeds
2tsps of paprika
half tsp chilli powder (optional)
500g dried pasta (penne or twists)
Frylight for stirfrying
Slice the onions and peppers and chop the garlic. Stirfry the onions and garlic with Frylight until softened, then add the peppers and continue stir frying for 2 minutes. Add the chopped tomatoes, stock, fennel, chilli powder and paprika to the onions and peppers and bring to the boil, then cover and simmer for approx 30 minutes until vegetables are cooked.
Meanwhile, fry the sausages in a separate pan in Frylight, following the directions on the pack (10-15 minutes approx). Once cooked, leave to cool for a few minutes, then slice each one diagonally into four pieces, and add to the sauce.
While the sauce is simmering, cook the pasta in boiling water until just tender, then combine with the cooked sausages and sauce, mix well together, and serve.
This recipe is improved by leaving to stand for 5-10 minutes after combining the sauce with the pasta, as the pasta soaks up some of the juices.

OR
Chunky Sausage Casserole
syns per serving = 1.5 syns.
(Serves 4)
1 large onion,
8oz carrots,
1tsp dried mixed herbs,
1/2pt Bovril stock (or an oxo cube @ 1 syn),
12 Quorn sausages (6 syns?),
500ml carton passata,
250gm pack chestnut mushrooms,
Salt & freshly ground pepper.
Prepare the vegetables; peel & finely chop the onion & peel and slice the carrots. Place the vegs in a large saucepan with the herbs. Add the stock, bring to boil, reduce heat, cover & simmer for about 5 mins or until vegs are just tender. Remove lid & cook for 2 mins until stock has reduced a little.
Preheat the grill to a hot setting and cook the Quorn sausages as per pack instructions. Remove from grill & cut into chunks.
Transfer the sausages to the vegetable pan and add passata. Bring to the boil, reduce heat, cover & simmer for about 5 mins.
Wipe the mushrooms, cut in half & stir into the casserole along with the salt & pepper to taste. Continue to cook for 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender & cooked through.
Serve immediately on warmed serving plates with green vegs.
OR
Sausage Casserole
sausages (i can use quorn)
1 tin tomatoes
400ml gravy (i could use bovril to make free?)
mushrooms
peppers
onion
mustard seeds
coriander
2 red chillis
Fry mustard seeds, chillis and onions. Add mushrooms, sausages, peppers and cook for a few minutes. Add tinned tomatoes + gravy. Simmer for 20mins or so, add coriander near end of cooking time.
I reckon this would be free on a green day so could serve with jacket potatoes and veg??

I like a warm/hot cereal in the morning and since I have switched to the EE plan on SW I only have 1 HEB to use during the day. If I have cereal in the morning thats it gone:mad:
So I came up with this - I vary it from day to day, for instance today I had blueberry and tomorrow probably rhubarb:j
Cook 1/2 cup of pudding rice in 1 cup of water for about 20 minutes (I use my remoska). Remove from heat put into a bowl, add fruit and a complementing muller yogurt and mix together! ie rice with sliced banana and toffee yogurt, rice with frozen blueberrys and a blueberry yogurt, rice with mandarin segments (chopped) and mandarin yogurt. For best results eat straight away while it is nice and warm! Tastes really nice and is very very filling! Also free on SW so can be made any time you fancy it really!

Morning folks
Still sticking 100% to plan, just starting to wonder if there is anyone else left who isn't doing SW or WW? Its getting lonely
We are going to a friends place tonight for dinner and I am a bit worried about what we are having so I am going to have to be extra careful today and avoid any extra snacky bits or bread with my soup.
B: Porridge with skimmed milk and water
L: HM lentil soupAbsolutuely no idea, fingers crossed it will be something vaguely healthy, most things are OK as long as there is no cream or cheese I just eat less of it.
S: Just an apple today
Have a great day all :T0 -

Morning Floyd, I think you are the lucky one because since you arn't on either of the club diets, you get to pick and choose the best bits from each one as you please!:D I don't know much about WW as I have been on SW for years but I do hear they are getting more and more similar. However when you really look at the plans they are just basically plain healthy eating.:T I go to class because I enjoy it but I think I would be able to continue to lose weight from just coming on here and reading all the tips and ideas that other members post. It is a wonderful support network:beer:

I agree with Marion, I dont follow SW 100% - not since I've got to target but I like to go to the meetings as its a night out for me and I like the weekly weigh in as it keeps me on track. I follow the main principles of SW but only ever do it properly 100% if I need to lose a few pounds(like now after christmas:D ) as I know I can definitely lose weigh by following it. It is also free for me now as long as I'm no more than 3lbs over or under target so this means I only ever have 3lbs to lose at any one time by keeping it in check and the weight doesn't pile back on. Hope this makes sense:DDo what you love :happyhear0 -

I do have some WW ideas but I'm really trying to do it without following a definite daily plan. I tried it last year and found it too stressful when I went over my points = feeling a failure etc.. which made me eat!!!
Funnily enough going to the gym and watching the calorie counter has been very sobering. When you work for 40 minutes and burn off 300 calories, you really don't want to eat that 375 small chocolate bar later in the day.
Over the past few months I've made small changes, skimmed milk, olive oil spread, wholemeal bread, lite yoghurts, no ready meals etc.... grill, steam or bake - no frying.
Limited takeaways before Christmas and being very MSE we now have a ban on takeaways until end of Feb.
It really depends what you want or need. I have joined WW online just for the extra help available on health and fitness, and getting some great healthy recipes.
We are all on this journey, but we all drive different cars0
