I made the banana bread that is in one of the banana threads and it comes in at around 230 cals for a big slice (3/4 inch) if you cut the loaf into 10. It doesn't taste 'diet' or contain anything artificial and it has the added benefit of being quite heavy so it really satisfies and sweet/stodge cravings.

I have learnt over time that I could have a lower cal/lower fat version but it doesn't curb the craving so it is pointless. I may as well have the real thing and just enjoy it less often and in smaller amounts :)

Now after these recipes, to my food for the day:

B: 2 weetabix, soya milk and OJ
    S: 2 hobnobs
D: HM veg soup, 1 slice HM bread, 2 thin slices cheddar; satsuma
S: 1 slice tea bread (defrosted some!)
T: Lamb chop (small), HM wedges, cabbage & carrots; banana
S: 1 slice toast (HM bread)

Must go and get the fire lit. It's getting cold again!

Went to class this morning for WI and I've lost 3.5lb in my first week, so quite proud of myself. I was panicking a bit cos the Extra Easy just seemed too easy and I wasn't convinced it would work. So going to do same this week and make sure it wasn't a fluke.

    Todays menu
    Breakfast fruit and yogurt
Lunch Veg Soup 2 sl bread (heb) slice of fresh pineapple
Dinner HM Chicken Curry and rice. Mullerlite yogurt
Snacks HiFi cereal bar (on BOGOF this week) Apple and Banana
    Milk in drinks (hea)

Still doing battle with myself, but the past two days have been ok. Can't seem to get myself properly into gear since last September for some unknown reason. However at least I'm having good days inbetween the one's best forgotten  .

Today pupkin and I gingerly (parts of the pavements quite icey) went for a walk to the local park, only to find it was like a swamp in parts, mud splashing everywhere as junior thundered through it :D . Just like your Charlie, Retiredlady, only bigger. If anyone saw Trinny and Suzannah yesterday, I am your typical large dog owner, scruffy comfy clothes and usually as muddy as the dog:rotfl: . So after having to clean us up when I got home decided to take the others to the beach. Wind blowing the sand everywhere but we enjoyed it. So plenty of walking for me.
I don't go to any club either as I get paranoid about what I should or shouldn't eat and then I don't like how I become, self loathing etc. I know what foods are best for healthy eating and I have to cut out everything Cakey or sweet as I can never say no. The only exceptions are fruits and things like dates. Once I've got past the initial cravings I'm ok - but thats the bit I'm having the trouble with at the moment. Still there's absolutely nothing like that left in the house now so fingers crossed.
So many of you are doing so well you all deserve a big :T :T . I hope to join you again one day :o . Take care folks - Suz

  • Good evening everyone! Hope you're all well and losing weight!

I haven't been on much this week, been busy with college work and got a part time job working a day a week - start tomorrow!

Ffloyd - i'm not on any specific plan either! trying to put a bit of a Paul McKenna spin on food and eat what i want, when i want it and eat more consciousley (slowly!!) but don't doing so well on the recognising when i'm full!!

Ths week i haven't done any "real" excercise so far.. last got on the wii on friday, but have tried to walk a lot more than normal, went on a rally on saturday and walked up and down stairs at college so i am getting some excercise.
Newlywed - i do that too! i take clothes upstairs a bit at a time and keep making myself get up to do certain things. It is all excercise so lets keep at it.

Thinking about getting a Vibro Plate excerciser - they're half price at about £100 at the moment. Cheap mans Power Plate ... anyone got one?? reviews seem good.
  • flourgirl, no wonder you're proud of yourself... well done you!:T (and any other losers I might have missed)

floyd, I make SW chips (fantastic invention!) but basically I'm a calorie counter, currently aiming not to go over 1500 cals a day. Doing ok again this week, I'm still feeling positive and inspired by the losses on here, and I've still got room for a couple of jaffa cakes with a cuppa later on!:D

    Morning folks :D

Still sticking 100% to plan, just starting to wonder if there is anyone else left who isn't doing SW or WW? Its getting lonely :o

I was under the impression that this thread was allowed to run only because it wasn't about doing a particular 'diet' that you paid for. There are WW and SW threads elsewhere but I believed that this thread banned all references to them..... it was supposed to be weight loss by the traditional way of eating less and exercising more, saving money as you go... or am I wrong

    Great loss flourgirl! :T

Happy-Rags, I don't think references to SW or WW are banned on this thread - that would be a bit draconian considering many of us trying to lose weight have tried these ways in the past, or may be following them loosely but "tweaking" to make them more OS (ie not buying all the rubbishy diet foods asscociated with them).

I personally can't be doing with these diet plans based on points and syns, but occasionally there might be a good recipe/tip from them that is good to share. The SW chips are a case in point - can't imagine eating full-fat chips ever again!

I follow the SW plan and I do try to eat less, exercise more and am very interested in saving money, hence the references to HM (homemade), left overs etc. I have been posting on here for a while and no one has ever mentioned that I shouldn't be mentioning the plan that I follow:confused::o
