I have that horrible sick feeling in my stomach that I always get on Monday morning - thats right its weigh in day today:o I wonder if I will ever be able to approach a set of scales without feeling fearful and apprehensive:mad: I have been good all week and stuck to the plan, eating in the evenings cravings didn't hit me this week yet I am still so frightened getting weighed! I did have a big loss last week (4.5 lbs) and I have never managed to lose properly the week after a big loss so I am not expecting miracles today, but oh it would be nice:D Wish me luck everyone!

    Love

Commiserations Procrastinator, keep plodding on. I find that planning is the key. I like to know what I'm having for all 3 meals and that I've got snacks available. I find I panic a bit if I have to go somewhere where I'm not in control of what is available to eat. The downside of this is that I do avoid going out sometimes to avoid temptation.
I always carry either an Alpen light or ryvita goodness bar in my handbag for emergencies;)

    Morning all :D

Frogga, try not to feel down :kisses3: The media are taking advantage of the tidal wave of emotion surrounding weight loss and being healthy that seems to have errupted in the last few years.
I was incensed watching the Claire Sweeny programme the other week where she was encouraged to eat what she fancied to see what happened to her body. At the end of the study, she was weighed and good lord she was 11 stone 10ish, how shocked and disgusted she was with her appearance
That is still a normal BMI for someone of 5 feet 8 inches  It made me really mad watching and made me feel like I had acheived nothing by getting my BMI down to a healthy 24.7. She was only a size 14!!!! The national average is 16.......
Is it any wonder that more and more people have body dysmorphism and eating disorders when we are fed crap like this through our national media?

Anyway, rant over. Its all about eating healthily here and if we fit into a smaller pair of jeans or get a wolf whistle on the way to work then great, but I'm more concerned about not getting out of breath walking up stairs or sweating like pig in summer :rotfl::rotfl:

B: Porridge with water and ss milk

L: Leftover veggie haggis and a slice of toast (its like a lovely spicy pate)

    D: HM spicy prawn laksa

S: probably just fruit if I fancy it

Back on the road 100% this week, I made my soup at the weekend and thought I would try a different one so I have got indian chickpea and vegetable...smells yum so will have that tomorrow.

Have a great day all :A

Good luck retiredlady, and hurray to the skinny minnies tap lady and shelbell :D

I am feeling re-inspired after reading Pythagoras - The Golden Verses, especially the line: "Learn to conquer these: Thy belly first, sloth, luxury, and rage". Another exhortation to be mindful of what I put in my gob lol.

So just a banana for breakfast. Will try to hold out till 11 for a small bowl of muesli. Very low on actual food though so will have to go shopping today and use up some rubbish in the freezer for lunch ie Linda MaCartney pies or cheese n onion crispbakes.

  • Hi all. Spent part of the weekend up at the local hospital as my sone had a dangerously high temp and stomach cramps. After 2 trips up there it turns out he has a bad case of septic tonsilitis. They have given him more meds than you can shake a stick at, so he is home with me for the next few days.

Not entirely sure what I did last week but I lost 14.3lbs. I weighed myself 4 times and got around the same (+/- 0.2lbs) every time. I even weighed my daughter to see if the scales were out compared to the wii fit board and they arent. The only thing I can think is that yesterday I realised that I am moving a hell of a lot faster than I was in November, especially around Tesco. And I was up and down stairs all weekend (when I wasnt at the hospital) to fit a cooker for my nan. 1 cooker up the stairs, another down the stairs. Another thing I have noticed is that I cant keep my jeans up any more. They are swimming on me. 60" waist, but they used to be comfortably tight on me. Unfortunately in my nans on Saturday I got up off the floor where I had been fixing something and my jeans were around my knees. Luckily my nan had her back to me, but my mother didnt!!!:o I need to put weight on again so all my clothes fit again.;)

    Today

    Poached egg w/toast
    Fruit
    Tuscan Bean soup w/toastie sq
    Fruit
    Either pasta bol or chilli
    Bovril

Well done to those who have lost or STS. If you have gained dont worry it just means you get double the pleasure of losing it twice

    Have a good one everyone.

  • I've started running over the weekend, following the Couch to 5k podcasts. Went on Saturday afternoon and it was  the thing is I now live in a rural hilly area and going down the hill at the beginning of the run was fine, it was the coming up at the end that did it! Went a different way this morning, climbed up the hill to start so came down it at the end. Felt much better. anyway, here's my food diary for today:

B - porridge with mixed dried fruit, orange juice
    L - bacon butty
S - pasta bolognese (in the SC as we speak) with grated cheese on top
    Snacks - muller light, clementines
    Cymru am Byth!
