  • taplady - ooh chocolate fingers are my weakness (I say that about a lot of things actually :p), I definitely would've demolished the lot! Well done for having the self-restraint to leave some!

Feeling a bit under the weather today so will have to keep an extra eye on the diet. I'm either going to go into full on 'i feel rubbish therefore i will console myself with sweets and chocolate' mode, or i'll hardly eat anything because my body is too busy fighting this damn cold/flu. Here's hoping it's the latter.

B: Porridge made with water, half banana, handful raisins
L: Light cream cheese sarnie on HM seeded bread, mullerlight, pear
    Snack: Apple
D: HM chicken, leek and mushroom fricassee with peas/sweetcorn
Snack: Sugar free jelly with some diced fruit in it

Exercise: Didn't do any yesterday so feeling like I really should today, despite feeling rubbish. Will endeavor to atleast walk a couple of miles on the treadmill if nothing else.

    Have a good day all.
  • So there is a good few inches of snow outside my office window again. :( Was hoping it had gone until next Christmas!

Have started the day with the usual cereal and yoghurt.
L - Ham sandwich on wholemeal bread
D - as yet undecided. May nip over to to the supermarket after work or just raid the freezer as there is bound to be something in there.

I do have a meeting out and about this afternoon which may involve tea and biscuits so I may allow myself to have 1 but definitely no more!

taplady & miss_cupcake - I'm with you both on the choc fingers! They were buy one get two free in Morrisons over the festive period and I managed to get through the most of a box in one sitting. There is still an unopened box in my cupboard so I'm trying to resist opening it as I know it won't last long if I do!

    Hi

It's me, back again. More another day. Just wondering if anyone uses any online food/diet help. I have used weightlossresources.co.uk, but fancied a change. Recommendations gratefully received.

Well, as I said yesterday I'm back again. I went bra shopping with dd yesterday and I tried a couple on too. The reality of the matter is that I'm going to find it even harder to find adequate bras if I'm as overweight as I am at the moment. So I decided at that point I need to do something about it and now.

    Good day yesterday foodwise.

    Today so far

Breakfast: HM yoghurt (unfortunately the greek one, but I had less!)
    Banana and a tsp honey.

Lunch: Small jacket potato, small amount of beans, salad leaves, celery, cucumber and hm coleslaw (using extra light mayo)

    Dinner: Need a plan!

  • Just been reading through all your posts and catching up on the gossip :-)

I love whippets too- we had one when I was a child, such beautiful faces and those lovely ears you can "twiddle"

WELL DONE to who have lost and /or excercised either their bodies or will power.

I caved in Sunday after a very good week - scoffed bowls of cereal with evaporated milk which is supposed to be a treat for my felines.

I felt stupid, ashamed, dusted myself off and climbed back onto wagon. Apparently failure is when you stay on the ground instead of getting back on.

Went to gym last night as it was packed on Sat afternoon when I tried visiting.

    Best wishes to all.

Not a good couple of days really. Friend brought round wine and chocs last night and my afternoons are becoming very "grazy".

    Today I have had:
B: 1 weetabix with skim milk and splenda (100)

S: biscuit, small un-iced cupcake and clementine at playgroup (250)

L: bowl of hm soup, slice of toast and yoghurt (400)

Had a good brisk 30 min walk this morning and shall devote myself to housework in a bit. Feel like I could eat a whole loaf of bread!

For dinner am planning battered cod with boiled potatoes and peas (600)
2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher
  • JoJoB - I have the same problem except it's my evenings that are 'grazy' rather than afternoons. As long as the things we are grazing on are healthy then I don't suppose it's too bad (note to self: NOT chocolate!)

Well I'm still feeling a bit under the weather with a cold but managed to go to the gym lastnight and walk briskly on the treadmill. I did 5K in 50mins which apparently burnt around 300 cals. I think that's rather optimistic but it's got to be better than nothing, right!? Today I've been reading a bit about the Slimming World principles and wondering whether I should give the food plan a go. I already eat healthily but I suppose the main thing would be cutting out bread. I'm very intrigued about this idea that there are certain foods you can eat as much as you like of and therefore you should neer feel hungry.. sounds right up my street! Need to give it a bit more consideration me thinks. Today's plan:

B: Soft boiled egg with 2 slices wholemeal toast
L: Light cream cheese sarnie on HM seede bread, mullerlight, pear
    Snack: Banana/grapes
D: Stuffed sweet peppers (veggie) with brown rice
Snack: Cup of tea and an apple

    Have a good day all!

I would rather eat than drink any day. I never drink juices or pop either, as they're empty cals in my book.

How many calories are there in blood? I've just put the sewing machine needle thru my finger. It's the first time I've ever done that!
Ouch!! I did that when I was a teenager. I was watching South Pacific on TV whith my mum while making a new canvas bag for my school books....obviously I was paying too much attention to the film..:D.!! My poor mum was more worried than I was, mind you, getting it out, back through the nail was fun..! Hope your finger recovers soon purpleivy....and you get your sewing finished!

So you have snow again in the city of my birth? DH and DS2 were in Auld Reekie on Saturday (DS2 was training at Murrayfield with the hope of getting into the Scotland Under 17s team...exciting! They ended up playing the match on Sunday in Kirkcaldy as the Stirling pitches were frozen, and Murrayfield was already booked).

Right off to walk the dog before finishing the marmalade and knocking back the bread.

DS2 is doing a five-day food and exercise diary
for the SRU (Scottish Rugby Union), with everything weighed and measured. They also want the recipes of any home-made food...aaaargh!! This is a problem, as I tend to add this and that to recipes, I am also weighing in metric (I usually use imperial), so it has been a longer drawn out affair than usual. Hey ho!

Not sure about the calories in it but I donated a pint of blood on Monday night and was 1lb lighter on the Tuesday morning! Not sure how long it takes for the body to reproduce all the lost blood and get back to normal though :undecided

  • Keiss 21 - good luck to your boys with the rugby! Hope they're all geared up for the 6 nations starting this weekend. :D We have much more snow forecast so I'm quite happy I'll be watching the Scotland v France game in the pub rather than Murrayfield this weekend!
Although it's going to be dangerous for me as it will mean too much beer and pub food!

Food-wise I managed to resist the biscuits at my meeting yesterday and had a baked potato for dinner.
Today I've been very good with meals but someone in my office brought in a box of those rocky road bites from m&s. They are GORGEOUS! So it resulted in me having one each time I passed the box (about 6 in total at 50 cals each!!!!!) But no more slip ups today and I'm hoping tomorrow will be a good day!

Hope everyone else is doing well! :)
