Welcome earthmother, it's a great bunch of folk here. Just watch out for the little green one...:D

That's funny I didn't know Tappy was green too?? I agree though Keissy some people on here can be a pain ;)

Hi Tappy :kisses3: HI Jo Jo ~ Keiss found the 4lb you lost by the way ;)

Welcome EarthMother :hello:~ Good Luck, anything you need to know just ask me ~ I'm an expert on most things :D

Well, it's been a whole week and I managed to get back on the wagon with little difficulty so I'm dead chuffed with meself :T Just gotta keep going, and keep going. I know what you mean about keeping going for weeks and weeks purpleivy but I'm just concentrating on getting to the end of Feb. Then I'm having the weekend off again, then I'll be good again in March, then I'll have Easter weekend off et.c ..... I can't be good for months and months at a time ~ BORING!

Even I can manage a week at a time. Just need to break it into managable chunks. A bit like when you stuff a giant bar of chocolate ~ you can't eat it in 60 seconds, you have to break it into little chunks and eat each square bit by bit devouring every delicious mouthfull, and eventually after a good 4 minutes or so the whole lot has gone ~ simple :T Gosh clever me, I expect that little gem really helped you all this morning. God I'm good :D

    Beee good peeps xxx

Thanks for that frogga, I'm drooling now. :D

Welcome earthmother, glad to hear hubby is on board too.

Yesterday was ok until OH got home from the most stressful week at work ever clutching a bottle of vodka and announcing he was going to get tiddly. Naturally I had to join in a little. We managed not to do a cig and sweetie run thgough so some things are improving. He's blatantly ignoring our budget though. £70 to last till the 24th does not really stretch to alcohol does it? Manchild.

Today I am going to eat what I like but not stuff myself stupid. Feeling too ill to be too strict with myself. Vague plan:

    B: slice of toast (120)

    S: banana (80)

L: sw chips and 2 fried eggs (lets see if my oil/water combo manages to fry an egg lol) (600)

    S: Yoghurt (80)

D: Linda McCartney pie, boiled potatoes, peas, broccoli and yorkshire pud (700)
2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher

Reporting again. I think I shall manage another day within my allowance, but it's killing me!

Breakfast was banana yoghurt and honey,
Lunch was cold chicken and some left over veg
Dinner was more chicken and some heated up veg and bubble and squeak. had Loads of veg as I was hungry.

Snacks were grapes, pear. I sooooooo want something properly sweet! NOW! I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to get on with this for the next however many weeks.

Could you mix the snack grapes and pear with sweeter fruit like melon and pinapple to give you a mixed fruit salad ? this would make a great dessert to satisfy the sweet craving.

Or what about a different breakfast and then have the yogurt and honey after dinner?

Good luck to you all for the weekend

After much messing around yesterday I've got myself a wall chart of recommended food stuffs all taped together - looks a little scruffy but if it annoys me to much I can always type it out :rotfl:

I am so not liking the list of "watch out for" and "avoid" as a lot of my favourite foods are on there and I know that portion control is my main problem so if I was to treat myself to a safe portion of them then I'd end up pigging out instead :o Oh well, this isn't a temporary diet to loose some weight, its about a lifestyle change and maybe after I've been doing it for a while I'll be able to treat myself occasionally ;)

Still working on getting rid of the stuff that isn't good for me and I'm going to start working my way through the booklets from the BHF to see what they recommend and taking notes ;)

Can anyone point me in the direction of a website where I could put in the ingredients of a recipe and find out its calories/fat/salt contents? Or is it a case of sit down with pen, paper & calculator? :( I love making things from scratch but not the trying to work out whether its healthy or not :o:rotfl::rotfl:

Right, I have a mission today to decide on a new washing machine, "diet" wise its not to pig out while sitting at the computer all day :rotfl: Laters

  • nicki - I'm don't know of any websites to recommend but I generally go by the rule that aslong as I use loads of veggies and very little oil/fat in my cooking then it HAS to be healthy! That's the great thing about cooking from scratch, you control everything that goes in (salt, sugar, fat) and so you control how healthy it is :j

JoJoB - Your OH sounds just like mine! One minute we'll be talking about how good it is for our finances to be taking part in the grocery challenge and the next he'll be off down the shops to buy some crisps and alcohol just because he 'fancies it'!

    procrastinator - Welcome back :)

frogga - You really should not be allowed to talk about chocolate in that way at this time of the morning - I'll be craving it all day now :rotfl:

Well I was a bit bad lastnight and ended up scoffing some of the homebaking I did. OH's parents are coming to stay this weekend so I baked some strawberry jam tarts and also a lemon drizzle cake. Somehow 3 jam tarts (mini, but still ) jumped into my mouth! The third one was fresh out of the oven and I ended up burning the inside of my mouth on the scalding hot jam :o Lesson learnt. Here's hoping that I manage to resist them all over the weekend now, I'll be literally throwing them at OH's parents and begging them to eat them and/or take them home with them. I know by now that it not safe for any home baked goods to be left in my cupboard, so must avoid that at all costs. Meal-wise, OH's family are the type who could live on takeaways but still not put on an ounce, so will have to be very cautious this weekend and make sure I'm prepared to either cook healthy meals for them myself or make healthy choices if we end up going out to eat. Will try to be super good today just in case :A

B: Porridge made with water, half banana, sprinkle raisins
L: Small portion leftover wholewheat spaghetti in HM tomato and mushroom sauce, mullerlight yog, pear
    Snack: Apple
D: HM butternut squash, carrot and lentil soup (will try to resist bread on the side)

Exercise: 20min walk at lunchbreak and hoovering the entire house like mad when i get home after work tonight...that's surely got to count!

Have a good weekend all :)

Guess what, I have LOST 4 POUNDS this week!!! :j:j

See Frogga, I didn't really want to keep JoJo's 4 pounds...hopefully it is lost forever and no-one finds it...I certainly never want to see it again!! Thanks for the great post again, always full of great wisdom (well, full of something! :p)

So how did I manage it this week? Well, I have been walking the dog daily, as well as eating less between meals (and not binging...much :o). My new cross stitich project is keeping me occupied, so food doesn't just find its way into my mouth by accident! :D

Right got to move now, have an appointment with Occupational Health this lunchtime to set up a strategy for me returning to work....I can't believe it is nearly 14 months since I last worked!!

I will make a banana sandwich for lunch and take it with me. I'll have some before the meeting, not sure how long it is going to take, with the rest afterwards....that will stop me buying something for lunch, so saving calories as well as money!!!

    Have a great day everyone.

    Food for today:

B: Porridge (using water, soya milk & sultanas); + OJ
    S: Chewing gum
    L: Banana sandwich
    S: ?
T: Gammon steak, mashed tatties, veg (carrots & broccoli prob)
S: Stewed apple & pears ...with sorbet

I feel like I've been absent for months, the amount of catching up I've had to do. Well done all those who have lost weight, especially Frogga's amazing loss.:T I said I wanted to be under 14st, and by the skin of my teeth I made it at 13st 13.75oz :D. That's a 3lb loss from 1st Jan, but heaven knows how much I'd put on before I started eating sensibly. Since then I've gone to pot so probably put it back on again, but I'm not looking as I'll get depressed. So from tomorrow I must get my act together and think of the three weeks till next weigh in, groan :(. Sorry but today's been a wash out already! (slinks off with tail between her legs)
