eta well done keiss!!
Thanks grateful (and everyone else), I have now lost 4 of the 6 pounds I gained in January, but at least I am going in the right direction!!Lets hope I can keep losing weight during this next week/month!
Frogga is right, concentrating on "being good" for short spells (be it hours or days), helps to get the momentum going, and before you know it, you have been good for a whole week/month/year (though that last could be stretching it :rotfl:)!!
I saw the doctor at the Occupational Health Unit today, and he is recommending a gradual return to work for me....yipppeee!! It will still be hard for me at first, but I can't wait!
Have a great weekend everyone.

Weeelllllll, I'm here again, Day 5, we had late lunch out.
breakfast banana, yogurt - skimmed (the greek is finished, not sure whether to be happy or sad!)
Late Lunch - decided that every other Friday when dh is home we should go out for lunch. Decided this before I started trying to cut down. Not too much damage done though.
seafood platter for starter, one tiny piece of marinated sardine (not keen) 2 prawns (they weren't reallly the ones I like, not cooked enough) taramasalata (spoonfuuul) sm amount smoked salmon and some whitebait. OUt of that lot only the whitebait was really lethal. Only a dozen or so though.
For main I had a starter size of goat cheese and onion tart (wasn't very big) and a mixed salad. It was quite nice. Salad nice and varied. And someone else had the hassle of getting all the packets out of the fridge and cutting it all up!
Pot of tea to drink.
I think I might have a bowl of porridge later on.
I have lost a little bit I think. At least my BMI is slightly in the overweight category now, not slightly in the obese!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Well done everyone, sounds like everyone's doing very well with either weightloss or motivation....it's all good :T:T
Weigh-in for me today and I'm pleased to say I've lost 2lbs (surprising really as it's my TOTM). That's 5.75lbs lost in total so far
Decided not to have my usual Friday night glass of vino as it weakens my willpower....having a cuppa instead
Have a good weekend everyone and keep up the good work :T0 -
well done krafty!:TDo what you love :happyhear0

Hi all!
I'm back from Germany, 5 days altogether going from Berlin to Hamburg to Dusseldorf
I started off the week fairly well sticking to veggie noodle dishes and veggie pasta with no cream or cheese but things went a bit wrong midweek when I drank far too much Einbecker beer at 7% + abv and ended up with a 2 day hangover! So I ate pizza, apple cake, ice cream and pretzels to try and fix itthen last night had a slab of Sachertorte to celebrate a friends wedding anniversary.
Home now and back to normality so I will go shopping tomorrow and draw up a meal plan to get the ball rolling
Thanks for the tips Purpleskies, OH had the currywurst (not a big fan of pork which makes eating in Germany difficult!) and he loved it. Will make a note of the other places to try when we go back as we really enjoyed it there. I did a cartwheel on the snow-covered lawn of the Reichstag and slipped and bruised my bum, serves me right :rotfl::rotfl:
Well done all the losers and hugs to those that are struggling0 -
Bad week. We've got the builders in and by Wednesday they were affecting so much of the house that there was no option but to go out for lunch at the pub, what with noise, dust, no gas and intermittent electricity. The two course special lunch menu proved irresistible (not dessert, though - two savouries) and so did a couple of glasses of wine to go with it.
Today we helped DD2 to move house. She took her removal team out for a pub lunch and much the same thing happened. And tomorrow we're off to help DD1, who's moving house as well...
I can't see next week being much better, as the builders will still be there. Difficult to cook anything. There are some weeks that you just can't do anything about. If I stay the same I'll be very lucky! If we are supposed to be thin, why does chocolate exist?0 -
Very well done on your losses, kradty, keiss, and suzid! :j
Agapanthus - that sounds an awful lot to contend with, no wonder the healthy eating is suffering.
Floyd - glad you had a good time! I used to live on currywurst when I lived in Germany. Probably why I looked like a barrel when I left lol.
Been rubbish the last couple of days. Still feeling carp. Bah humbug etc and back on the wagon. My breakfast today has been appalling!
L: hm carrot and lentil soupbattered fish and salad

You'll never guess who I saw in Sainsbury's yesterday? Only The Toad??!!
He followed me all round the shop and kept chucking naughty things in the trolley and I kept putting them back on the shelf. He wouldn't stop. It was really irritating ~ he even followed me home in the car and kept saying that it didn't matter that I hadn't actually bought any naughties as I could always go out later the the petrol shop and get some from there! :wall:He's such a !!!!!!. Anyway when I got home I told him to sod off and locked the door
So, I was really chuffed with myself last night as I also avoided a bag of peanuts that I suddenly became tempted to eat at around 9 O'clock ( Thanks Tappy) and I made the fatal mistake of weighing this morning!!
I was convinced that I would have lost loads this week and be 15 something, but I'm EXACTLY the same as last week. Gutted. Why or why did I get on the scales? I made a promise to myself I would only weigh monthly as this always happens and I get really cheesed off. Stupid Frog. Stupid, stupid Frog
Have a good weekend ladies xxxSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Can anyone point me in the direction of a website where I could put in the ingredients of a recipe and find out its calories/fat/salt contents? Or is it a case of sit down with pen, paper & calculator?I love making things from scratch but not the trying to work out whether its healthy or not
:rotfl::rotfl:
You are so organised Nicki - you will amaze your GP with all the self help measures :-)
I have used "Sparkpeople" site before - Google it and you'll get a link. It is free USA site.
Set a calorie/low fat/low salt/vegan/pork free - whatever you need - target and it gives meal plans to suite OR you can enter ingredients and save them as a recipe.
It will track certain nutrients so you could track salt intake for example.
It takes a while to set up the portions sizes - their standard is USA cups but you can chose grams instead , but once you have saved foods you eat most days - like 50g oats - in your favourites it becomes faster.
CONGRSTULATIONS to all the losers - you really do inspire me to keep on track!
JoJoB - hope you are feeling better soon.
Frogga - your strength and determination to squash the toad are incredible - well done! I am not weighing myself as my aim is to stop the binges and gradually return to a decent weight as a consequence. DON'T PANIC! By avoiding the toad you avoided a gain!
Yesterday I ate:
50g oats
carrot and feta cheese
bean salad
fish soup
best wishes to all.0
