I did it :j I actually did it last night! I put down the mini pork pie that was in my right hand and picked up a yogurt instead :T

    Yesterday was:
    B: Toast & HM marmalade
S: half a cookie - bit of a ritual with my college friend
L: tuna panini & hot choc drink
    S: yogurt
D: packet pasta with chopped up left over gammon thrown in, 2 glasses of wine.

    Today:
I realised I hadn't eaten breakfast as I leaving the house in a hurry so ending up with quiche that needed using up!
    B: quiche - prob 400 cals!
S: nothing and its lunch time!!
    L: sandwich and crisps - 450 cals
    S: yogurt - 85 cals
D: battered haddock and pot wedges with peas - 700 ish cals

Well done to all - so many doing so well :A

Well done on resisting the pork pie mlz - especially once it was in your hand. It would have been game over for me at that point. :D

My potato wedges came out reasonably well in the oil/water mister mixture so DD and I had those for lunch with a packet pasta (creamy mushroom). I really felt like something creamy and comforty with this cold creeping up on me.

And I decided to brave the wii fit scales as I was feeling thin :p and am very pleased to report a 4lb loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This puts me back in the 12s at last (12s 12 lb) which I haven't managed for a long time (apart from a brief interlude last September). So I'm feeling very happy today!

  • Well done everyone! Lots of very positive posts! :T

Trust me to bring it to an end by saying I've just had a (small) slice of very chocolaty birthday (one of my colleages) cake for my tea break. :o

So not had the healthiest couple of days but back to training tonight after missing the last two classes as I was unwell. So hopefully that will balance out some of my naughtiness! :A

Not sure whether to post here or on the 'I Wanna' thread - but as I'm trying to re-OS myself after a bit of a slip, I think this is the better.

I weighed myself on Tuesday for the first time in a few months - and let's just say I got a bit of a shock - the scales said 16st 12lb

I normally sit somewhere around 15.5-16st - not great, but not awful either considering I'm 5'11 and fairly fit - but I've never been this heavy outside of pregnancy :(

So, whilst it was already planned as a leisurely process this year, I am now on a serious 'weight watch' - the easiest way I have lost weight in the past has been to get back to basics - scratch cooking, no 'fake food' etc - and whilst the budget can't go as far as organic, as it has in the past, I'm going to give it a good try.

It'll help that DH, who has further to go than me, has also finally got his head in the right place to make a diet work, so I won't be doing my usual up-hill battle on that front when the healthy stuff starts appearing on the table. And also, now the weather is picking up, there'll be more out-and-about stuff with the kids to keep me active.

So if it's ok, I'll watch this thread with interest, and maybe even post the odd weight loss (fingers crossed) :)

Reporting again. I think I shall manage another day within my allowance, but it's killing me!

Breakfast was banana yoghurt and honey,
Lunch was cold chicken and some left over veg
Dinner was more chicken and some heated up veg and bubble and squeak. had Loads of veg as I was hungry.

Snacks were grapes, pear. I sooooooo want something properly sweet! NOW! I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to get on with this for the next however many weeks.

All of the above :-) and welcome to earthmother - good luck to you and your r husband.

Purpleivy - I have a strong tea or coffee with one sugar in it if I want something sweet. A teaspoon of sugar is only 16 calories and it is just enough to make me a bit fuller and restores my will to live - sweetners just never seem the same.

I snatched a small victory from a potential disaster yesterday. I over slept so had no time to prepare food, but left home clutching 2 large shredded wheat, a large pot of natural yoghurt and a can of mushy peas!

I ate the shredded wheat dry at my desk with a mug of tea, rather dry , but better than a vending machine kit kat and eat yoghurt through the day , plus peas for lunch, then spud, veg and fish for dinner.

Very old style in that I used what I had at home rather than buying a sandwich and crisps :-)

Gym planned for tonight - going to try out the eliptical trainer as have not had a go on that yet.

    best wishes to all!
