grateful - bad luck! dont worry you can stop - we like you:D;)
Frogga - I dont drink either, would rather use my calories for food:)
good luck for the weigh in on the 1st!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
My other half decided 3 weeks ago that he wanted to lose a stone by his birthday at the end of March. He's not particularly overweight but wanted to 'carry a bit less'.
Anyway, I first convinced him that his best move was to start taking his lunch to work with him instead of hitting the shops at lunchtime. So I knocked up a quick salad of:
tin of kidney beans
tin of sweetcorn
1 chopped onion
1 chopped pepper
chopped fresh corriander
chilli sauce (he loves chilli!)
cous cous
the above made enough for 3 portions which he took to work each day (in recycled chinese takeaway plastic containers!). He also took a banana for those mid morning munchies!
As well as that he has cut back but not cut out his beloved Minstrels and we still have a pizza and wedges night every Thursday.:j
I must add that we are quite active - 3 dogs to walk daily and he rides his mountain bike at least 3 times a week (in a serious mountain biking way!) or hits the turbo trainer if the weather is too bad.
Today he got on the scales and he's 12st8 - a loss of 6lbs already. I don't think he would have done it if he had to cut out his 'goodies' or if he still felt hungry but cutting back and having a filling low fat lunch has done the trick.wend

:)Hi
Does anyone on this thread use slimming world? (broadly) - I've signed up for the online version, and have joined the thread elsewhere on here (cannot ever remember where it is!:)) but to cut a long story short i'm "re-training" myself in light of my newly less active life but want to continue with my OS ways as well. I'm finding it really enlightening!

Sorry to hear bout your probs NotsoNewlywed :kisses3:Keep on posting matey it can't hurt.
Well it's still not going great. Got a meeting on Tues to "come to a final decision about my employment"
Cept I can't survive on half my wages - especially with OH with no workSo there's not much decision to be made
Anyway today I made toffee meringue bars and banana and chocolate bread - so no diet today :rotfl:
Hoping to try and be a bit better on Mon as there's no more treats left in my desk at work - I've scoffed the lot!!!
Hope your weigh day goes ok frogga. Face it - you wouldn't know what to do if you didn't have food to worry aboutworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Hi WCS! I'm a SW member:)
Wend - well done to your DH, wish mine would make more of an effort! Love your avatar piccie!
Newlywed - hope your meeting goes ok x x xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
frogga - you're right as ever about stuffing after being good - and as a result of alcahol too. Knowing this doesn't seem to be stopping me though!
wend - that salad sounds delish! I am going to put one together tomorrow. Is the chilli sauce a particular brand/type? I haven't used chilli sauce before so unsure what to buy.
Went out for a nice walk today and stopped off at the shop on the way home where OH snuck some choc chip cookies into the basket. So had those with nice afternoon cup of tea. So now must be really really REALLY good this week or face tears on friday.
I had cup a soup and quiche and salad for lunch instead of the fish, and having quorn escalope and salad tonight instead of the sausages I had planned.
I think starting the day off with fruit and/or weetabix with skimmed milk seems to get me to stick to plan rather than messing it up first thing with fried eggs. I can save the calories for a biggish dinner that way, gotta stuff somewhere.
Fruit for brekkie tomorrow then!2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -

Food today so far.....
BREAKFAST - Large tea, 2 slices 50/50 toast with low fat spread & reduced fat peanut butter.
LUNCH - Baguette with egg, onion & light salad cream (eggs needed to be used today, so no waste).
DINNER - H/M chinese chicken curry, rice & prawn crackers (bag from tesco).
Now sitting down to a big glass of wine, probably the 1st of many. Will allow myself a packet of crisps later if I want them......no doubt I will though with the alcohol munchies0 -
Hi Taplady, how are you finding SW? I've just started this week and feel like i'm drowning in potatoes :rotfl: - pretty sure i've lost some weight already though. I'm not finding i'm particularly hungry but am missing cheese - hadn't realised how much i ate but am saving it for a weekend treat - and bread. I'm not sure of the theory behind SW but it seems crazy you can eat your bodyweight in potatoes but a couple of lovely slices of hm bread are frowned on as it were?
I'd always thought my diet was pretty healthy but now i'm a lot less physically active i guess the home baking and cheese has finally caught up with me (must learn to run faster!:))
Nice to meet you all and looking forward to getting to know you

Having to weigh in a day early due to being away until Wednesday.
Well, despite having walked about 25 miles altogether this week and kept my calorie intake down, I havent managed to lose a single lb
So, total weight is still 142 lbs.
