  • Yesterday wasn't a good day, I pigged out on dried fruit in the afternoon which resulted in me feeling really sick whilst at the gym. I also had 3 crackers with light cream cheese at about 10pm despite having had a rather large (and v.tasty) dinner of butternut squash risotto at about 8.30pm. Must try to pay more attention to my body's hunger signals because there's no WAY i was hungry such a short time after having dinner. I just shovel it into my mouth because it's there and because by that time in the evening OH is relaxed on the sofa and I can pick away in the kitchen without him knowing. Definitely need to break out of this habit :(

Anyway, at least it's finally Friday and I've got a nice, relaxing weekend ahead. We're going out for a meal with friends on sat night to a little Morrocan restaurant which I'm really looking forward to. I've already picked out a delicious sounding cous cous, chickpea and veg dish which hopefully shouldn't put too much of a dent in the diet! In preparation for that I'll try to be extra good today :A

    Today's plan:
B: Porridge made with water, half banana, spoonful strawb jam stirred through
L: Light cream cheese s/w on HM seeded bread, mullerlight yog, banana
    Snack: Apple
Dinner: Baked potato with tuna and salad
Snack: Pot of sugar free jelly

Exercise: 1hr cardio at the gym + 100 sit ups

    Happy Friday everyone :)
  • Dress sizes - I was just wondering if any one else works out how much they need to lose to go down a dress size.

I estimate about 18 lbs, but I just went on the cook yourself thin website and they are saying that I can lose 3 dress sizes by 25 June, now by my reckoning that is 54 lbs in 21 weeks, that would be more than 2 1/2 lbs a week, unfortunatley I can't do that, but maybe I will go down dress sizes quicker and it isn't 18 lbs each size.

    What do you think?

Oh dear, I have put on yet more this week - 4 pounds!!!!:eek:

That does it....I am getting back to eating healthier and exercising more from now on (funny, I said this only 4 weeks ago!!).

I have just waved goodbye to DH and DS2, they are off up to Scotland, coming back on Sunday. DS2 is trialling for the Scotland U-17s rugby team, with training all day tomorrow and training followed by a match on Sunday.

So I am on my lonesome for 21/2 days. Now this could go two ways...I could pig out all weekend as there is no-one to see or stop me, or, I could be REALLY GOOD and hide away any temptation lurking around the house. I am aiming for the latter, ofcourse....we'll see how things go. :)

I will have to be walking the dog twice a day, so that's some exercise already, but I will try and fit some more in.

I am also setting up a new cross-stitch project, so I might just go and lose myself in it for the duration..still sorting out the threads atm...all 150 of them!!

Oh bother, the rain has just started and I have one load of washing out, with another just about to finish...humphffff! :( It doesn't look like a short shower, so I suppose I should go and get the washing in!

I will pop back later, once I have worked out what I am having for tea tonight - HM soup defrosting for lunch...in fact, all my weekend lunches!!

  • Patchwork - Interesting question. I'm not sure if you can neccessarily work out how many pounds equals a dress size because I suppose it depends where on your body you lose weight first and where the more stubborn areas are? I've often been two different dress sizes for top and bottom during my quest for weightloss. I would say that 18lbs sounds ALOT for one dress size though! If I lost 18lbs I'd probably drop 3 or 4.

I agree in principle with the above. You cant determine how many pounds=1 dress size because everyone is different. Summer before lastI was wearing size 10s; this year (now) I can just squeeze into one or two of those same size 10s but for the majority I am size 12 - and I m 23lbs heavier. It depends on your shape, height, metabolism, etc.

I do agree about your shape and dress size and one of the thing that really gets me is I have lost more than 2 stone and only gone down 1 dress size, GRR. I am seriosuly frustrated. Oh Miss Cupcake 18 lbs and 3 or 4 dress sizes I am jealous!(do you count 14 down to 12 as one size or two?) Cook yourself thin seem to say 6 weeks for a dress size , so going on an average of 2 lbs a week they are saying 12 -14 lbs a size, 6 weeks a dress size I wish.

    Morning all,

Well last night I did eat after dinner after saying I wasn't going to. Had dinner at 6pm, then come 9pm I really wanted something and ended up with 2 x 2 finger kitkats.

I think I am going to start allowing myself something in the evening though because if I say I'm not eating after dinner, then do eat I end up feeling guilty and sometimes think stuff it & continue to eat.

So maybe knowing that I am allowed it will take away the feelings of guilt which (in theory) should stop me overeating :o

    Today....

BREAKFAST - Large tea. Bowl branflakes with semi-skimmed milk. Glass OJ.

LUNCH - Large tea. Sliced banana & low fat spread on 2 slices 50/50 toast.

DINNER - Sausages, egg, beans & oven chips for everyone else, but I'm going to have 2 slices of 50/50 bread with low fat spread instead of the oven chips as I love a sausage sandwich and I don't want to have bread & chips.

Don't know what snacks I'm having yet :D

Forgot to add, I've lost 1lb this week which is an absolute miracle as I haven't been good & TOTM is due around next Friday so I usually start retaining fluid & getting the munchies now....
  • So my nice healthy dinner of lentil soup last night fell through as the soup was just on the turn and I didn't want to chance it since I'm ill at the moment anyway (caught a horrible cold from one of my colleagues :() Ended up having a not so healthy bacon sandwich since the bacon was going out of date so needed to be used up anyway.

Have had my usual cereal and youghurt today but didn't bring anything for lunch so will see what they have in the canteen. Dinner will be using up whatever is in the fridge!
