Welcome back Agapanthus! :T And well done for treating yourself taplady.

I've done too much treating this weekend and need to step up a gear now. This week must be saintly to catch up with the TOTM and alcohol-related carb fest. Started off not too good this morning with 2 fried eggs on nimble - all the pans were in the sink awaiting washing up and I was too hungover to face washing a pan and making healthy porridge. :o

    B: 2 fried eggs on nimble (500?)

L: lm pie with yorkshire pud, boiled potatoes and veg (500)

    D scampi and salad (350)
2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher
  • Well, add a couple of handfuls of dried fruit to my food yesterday- I became ravenous yesterday evening, I think gym session in the morning made me do it, BUT back on track today hopefully.

    Bran flakes
    Yoghurt
    Veg Soup and bread
    Liver and bacon risotto
    Apple

    Good luck to all today.

What an atrocious few days I've had!
Started on Friday with some bright spark in work suggesting coffee and cake at 11am so I had a coffee and a slice of choux fruit ring (also had custard and cream in it) then I met my Mum for lunch at 2pm and we went to John Lewis cafe where I had an egg roll which must have had about 6 eggs in it , then I didn't feel like tea when OH had it so I ate cheese on toast later

Saturday I ate white toast for breakfast and lunch then had a takeaway curry with naan  then HM key lime pie for dessert

Today I've had white toast for breakfast (damn you OH for buying white bread!) then a white baguette with strong cheddar for lunch  then dinner will be sausage casserole with cabbage, peas and a little mash :A

On the plus side I got back on my bike and did a hard 4 milke mountain bike trek on Saturday and just did 2 hours digging in the garden and planted my raspberry canes so something to counter the bad stuff!!!

That is the line firmly drawn under a crap weekend, back on track tomorrow :D I'm also not weighing as I will get upset and binge so I will just ignore it until next week :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hope you're all doing better than me, have a good week

Great approach Donna, if we can avoid the binge days we'll be making a positive step towards better health and the weight loss should follow as an added bonus.

We have 8 days to go until Feb, shall we both try for binge free until then?

The allotment project sounds great fun - are the whole team keen?

Hi there Whiteviolet (and everyone else)

That sounds a great idea about no bingeing for the rest of January.

I didn't binge last night and I don't intend to tonight either.

It's funny really, because I didn't binge all over Christmas and there was chocolate in the house. I think that's where the problem lies - as soon as I try to 'diet' I eliminate all chocolate etc and then I just focus on it until I binge.

I am going to allow myself to have a small chocolate bar or a couple of biscuits (or whatever) each day for the next few days and see if that stops the bingeing.

I have been thinking about what a couple of posters have said about weighing monthly not weekly. I think this could work for me, because weighing weekly makes me keep focussing negatively on my weight. I would rather weigh once a month and then forget about it. I would always be able to lose weight that way, as long as I was sensible.

Me and my OH are approaching our finances differently from when he gets paid (28th), and we will be having monthly budgets for most things. Therefore monthly weighing would fit well.

As to the allotment, everyone is keen in principle, but my twin DD's get fed up after an hour. They are 6 years old and think going to the allotment means eating raspberries! Now the raspberries have all gone, it's pretty boring for them. But we did get lots done yesterday. I am amazed at OH though. He really wasn't interested when I said I was having an allotment, but he has spent yesterday pm and all day today over there, moving all the junk that had been left by the previous tenant. He says he could get really into it. :T

Right off to serve dinner - mutton stew (with loads of vegies in) plus extra steamed brocolli and buckwheat. Pudding will be a mince pie (home made from the freezer - I didn't eat one over Xmas! Why do I not binge on home made things??)

  • Wow lots of posts since I was in here a few days ago! Hello to all the new comers and those returning.

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one struggling to get out of the terrible eating habits of the Christmas holidays, despite the fact it's nearly the end of January! Oh dear!
I have been slowly improving and thought I was going to have a very healthy day yesterday as I managed to avoid snacking completely! However I had a friend who came through to visit me and he decided my idea of getting something nice from the supermarket for dinner wasn't as appealing as a take away so I caved and had pizza. :o
Have done not too badly today but somehow a small sliver of syrup sponge cake managed to sneak it's way in there while I was having a cup of tea!
I'm hoping for a nice healthy week starting from tomorrow but I did discover a chocolate bar lurking in the cupboard to must resist, or at least just try and eat a little at a time!

    Hope you're all doing well!

Urrrgggggghhhhhh you know that horrible advert where the woman keeps scooping all her meals into her handbag to demonstrate digestive discomfort? Thats how I feel right now, all of those nasty white carb-laden meals from Fri and Sat are still there sloshing around with todays dinner.......bleurghhhhh :(

My stomach looks like theres an alien living in it!

Oh Floyd , That was me last Sunday after scoffing 2 packets of biscuits and the reason I crawled out form under a stone and came to you all for help.

I hope you get back on plan next week.

    DonnaP

Thankx for your lovely post about the allotment. The planned treat is a great strategy, especially if it is something homemade - like you I only ever stuff shop bought rubbish.

I don't weigh myself anymore, I can tell from which of my clothes fit me how I am doing.

Best wishes to all and hope you all stay on plan until the end of the month.
