Just watch out for the "after-effects" of the artichokes..... a touch gaseus IYKWIM!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
If you don't want the artichokes to re-grow where you have had them, then make sure you dig up EVERY single one, no matter how small...we grew them as a form of wind-break, very efficient they were too and for quite a few years!!

Welcome back zippychick
Pleased to report that after my terrible weekend, yesterday I was well behaved and managed to stick to my food plan and do some extra exercise. I managed to run just over 5 miles in about 45 minutes, so I'm pleased with that. Even more pleased that I was so busy in the evening I didn't have time to sit on the sofa and snack. Keeping busy is definitely an important factor for me in resisting the urge to snack - it seems all hell breaks loose otherwise! Fingers crossed today will be the same, although I definitely will need to have some chill time on the sofa later, hopefully it won't involve any cakes/sweets/biscuits though!
B: Porridge made with water, half banana, handful raisins
L: Light cream cheese + spinach sandwhich on HM seeded bread, mullerlight yog, apple
Snack: BananaChicken breast grilled with sweet chilli glaze, veg and brown rice
Snack: Sugar-free jelly
Exercise: 1hr cardio at the gym
Happy Tuesday everyone :j0 -

Morning all,
I gave up worrying about my weight over Nov & Dec as it was my birthday and then Xmas so I decided if I could remain at static would be a bonus, pleased to repoert a 1lb loss
Problem is I sliced the top off my finger last night with a sharp knife - I've a history of nicking myself but this has surpassed any previous injury!! So I couldn't bring myslef to use the bread knife for toast this morning and have ended up with a corish roll from shop for breakfast.
We have a social club that does food so will buy soup and a roll for lunch and then plan on pasta tonight as its easy to do and no knives needed!
hope everyone has a good week.0 -

Hi, have just found this thread as I need to get back on the wagon after a holiday and Christmas, just read the last page and am still giggling at the person who grows artichokes as a 'wind break'.
Off to look at recipes now0 -

That was me...:rotfl:. Didn't spot this while typing yesterday! Very effective it was and pretty if you let them grow tall enough to flower - about 7 to 8 feet!
Not doing too badly eating-wise so far, about to have lunch, then take dog a walk...IN THE SUNSHINE!
Tea tonight will be left-over beef from Sunday's roast, sliced and mixed with onions and mushrooms, possibly a touch of red wine, then thickened to make a lovely gravy/stew. Will have to give DS2 beef on its own, he "doesn't do gravy"! Mind you, he will love the mashed potatoes and veg (sprouts and carrots prob). As there is quite a bit of beef (it was half of a large, vastly reduced lump we got before Christmas), I might make a big batch of the mushroom & onion gravy and use what's left to make some pasties/pies...sounds good to me!! I even have some Trex pastry ready-made in the freezer, oh I am good!!
Food today:
B: Porridge with raisins, & OJ
S: Twinks hob-nob
L: Cup-a-soup with HM bread, banana
S: Another Twinks?!Roastbeef leftovers with mushroom & onion gravy, mashed potatoes, sprouts & carrots mmmmmmm!
S: SF jelly or.....another Twink!
Have a good day!
