Here's to a nice shiny new week guys!

    B: Clementine and banana (100)

L: Cullen Skink soup, my favourite thing on earth ( 350)

D: smokey bbq quorn fajitas (400-800 depending on how much of a piglet I am)

I have a bowl of salad in the fridge which I'll add a tiny bit of salad cream to if I really need to munch. And lots of apples, clementines and bananas. There's bread in the house but nothing remotely interesting to put on it so should be safe. ;)

  • Good morning! It's nice to come on here on a Monday morning and read about the successes and setbacks of everyone's weekend. Like others, weekends are my complete downfall and I don't think I've managed a 'good' weekend since way before Christmas  As always, the intentions are there, but somehow life gets in the way and I find myself eating sweets, biscuits, cakes and all sorts that I don't eat during the week. This weekend was no different, there was several HM carrot cake cupcakes, a full scottish burns supper on sat night (including haggis, cranachan AND cheese and biscuits  ) and a slice of HM chocolate cake yesterday. Eurgh, where do I put it all?! As ever, I'm back on track this week and looking forward to some healthy eating and exercise (which will no doubt be ruined next weekend, but must stay positive!) Today's plan looks this this:

B: Porridge made with water, half banana, handful raisins
L: Light cream cheese sandwhich on HM seeded bread, muller light yog, apple
    Snack: Banana
D: There is a haggis waiting at home but seeing as I've had my allowance for this year OH will eat that and I'll just have the new potatoes and steamed veg (lots of it!)
Snack: Pot of sugar free jelly

Exercise: 5K run + 5K cycle (at gym)

Sending out positive vibes to everyone - especially those who struggled over the weekend - here's hoping we all get back on track this week :A

    Hi all

Back on track today and hoping for a good week :)

B: Bran flakes with skimmed milk and half a banana

L: Covent garden winter veg soup (forgot my lunch)

D: Chicken zorba with wholemeal pitta, HM salsa and a little brown rice

S: Maybe a small skinny latte later if I have time

Have a good one all :)
  • Hi
Haven't posted for a long time, I tend to be a yo yo dieter and must be more consistent. The difference recently has been that in between dieting I haven't been regaining all I have lost unlike the rest of my adult life!

I am struggling though as I am unfit, with sciatica that kicks in when I try and walk etc. I am going to go on the bike more though and I am trying to up my fitness by more housework too and just generally more active.

I am quite good on my diet and try for 1300 - 1400 calories, but am only losing about a pound a week. I have PCOS and insulin resistance - does anyone else have this as it is really getting me down.
  • Spent yesterday afternoon digging up our crop of Jerusalem Artichokes that we'd completely failed to lift before the snows came. It's the first time we've grown them and we were astonished at how many we'd got. :D

So, carrot and artichoke soup for lunch today! Yum! Anyone got any good low-fat, low-calorie recipes using Jerusalem Artichokes?
If we are supposed to be thin, why does chocolate exist?

    Hello everyone.
A bit of a struggle this weekend for me too, but managed to resist. All weekend spent looking at cars and am now totally fed up with them. I had to drive DD's today as DH had mine. Oh dear! Felt as if I was sitting on the road, kept reving too hard and wheel spinning like a true boy racer :rotfl:, and the gear stick's so small and in the wrong place and so's the hand brake. All so I could walk her dog for her!
Anyway on the food front, we are having the basa fish tonight with jacket potatoes and baken beans, really looking forward to it. I had leftover bean and veg casserole for lunch and porridge for breakfast. The day has flown by just dog walking and chatting to DD. It's her birthday this week and we've planned to have a leg of lamb as a birthday treat YUM. With lots of veggies it should fit in well with the healthy eating. As for the birthday cake I said I'd make, that is going home with her and SIL. No way can it stay in this house without an armed guard :D. I will happily munch cakes straight from the freezer, doesn't matter if they're HM or bought. I so wish I could eat in moderation, just a little treat, but I know I can't. I have to completely stop all cakes, biscuits and sweets and go cold turkey . Perhaps I've talked myself into believing it's like an addiction, or perhaps it really is, all I know is that I go along happily eating healthily for months, then either I think "oh I've done so well I'll have a treat" or I'm persuaded to have something, and bang, it all goes to pot and I can't get back on the wagon again until the munchie switch flips back again. It is sooooooooooo annoying !!! Anyway the switch is still off after a week and the weigh in on the 31st is getting closer so I must keep going. Oh to be under 14st. That would give me the incentive to keep going in February and it's a short month :T.
    Fingers and everything else crossed!
