... guess all the apple juice and cordial added to the water hasn't helped the weight :o Must drink more (boring) water.
    Hi NW,
try some of the sparkling favoured waters available, sainsbury's do 3 for £1 and calories are 4 per 100ml from memory.

Also serving in a wine glass with dinner makes me feel a lot better!

    Monday:

B: Porridge made with skimmed milk with half a chopped banana, some golden linseeds and a few sultanas.

D: Reduced fat hummus mini pot and http://www.mrscrimbles.com/corncakes.htm which I really like and they are only 21 calories each and a trace of saturated fat.

T: Corned beef hash and beans.

    S: 2 finger kit kat.
  • Yesterday went mostly to plan, except I did have 3 slices of HM veggie pizza for dinner instead of the 2 I told myself I'd have. And I had a biscuit with my cup of tea afterwards. And a small glass of non-diet coke. Hmm ok so maybe yesterday didn't go to plan at all :( In my defence I did have a friend over for dinner and that's something I rarely get to do these days, so it was only right that I enjoyed myself :o Back on track today...

B: Porridge made with water, small handful raisins
L: Cheese and beetroot salad, muller light yog, pear
    Snack: Banana
D: Spicey bulghar with roasted veg
    Snack: Handful of grapes

Exercise: Run 5K at the gym and do some arm toning weights

Have a good day all x

    Hi katiesmummy,

Italian food can be a real downfall for me too, all that cream and lovely meats. But it is possible to eat at a restaurant without sitting with a plate of shredded lettcue drooling over everyone else's choice.

Try to stick to tomato based sauces and order the veggie or fish option, prawns are really low in calories. I also like the melon & parma ham for starter.

Do watch the portions they give, I love our local Italian but I seem to get 3 times the spaghetti that I would have at home and I hate leaving any!

The desserts maybe to die for but the sorbets are better for dieters.

Good luck and if you do over eat can you go to gym/running and burn off the excesses?

    thank you :)

erm, i'm not really a gym type of person tbh- would be terrified of messing up on a machine and shaming myself in front of everyone!!

i do a lot of walking anyway with my ds during the day, and i am going to make a real effort to walk the dog in the evenings for at least an hour- we have a massive field behind the house and i usually just take the dog over there and let him run about for half an hour or so rather than walking with him :o

i don't eat fish, so i'll have a look out for a veggie based tomato option. im gonna assume no starters or desserts as there will be 7 adults and 5 children all under 3 so it'll be a case of in and out!

    afternoon!

katiesmummy - if it was me I'd just have a small portion of whatever I fancied as it is a one-off celebration then get straight back to it the next day. 1 bad day wont ruin a good week, its when 1 day runs into several that the trouble starts. Thats just my opinion as I have terrrible trouble with willpower when faced with other people eating what I like:D

    plan for today

    B - 2 400g wholemeal toast and marmalade

    S - alpen light bar

L - jacket spud, large salad small portion grated LoLo cheese

D - quorn cottage pie and SW chips and peas

    fruit and yoghurt.

have a good day all and welcome to any new faces x

  • taplady - I recently stocked up on that Lo-Lo cheese from Asda (£1 special offer) I think it's great! One of the nicest 'low fat' cheeses I've ever tried. I'm having some with salad for lunch today too.

I agree, its really nice. I got mine on offer from Morrisons for £1. I tried another type the other week called leskol(I think) which is even lower fat and good for cholesterol but I didn't like it as much although friends of mine did so ita all down to taste.
