Well I managed to do it yesterday, a whole day without any chocolate, cake, sweets or biscuits! Might sound a bit ridiculous for someone trying to lose weight but I think yesterday must've been the first day without any of those things for about 2 weeks  I'm planning on a similar repeat performance today, but may allow myself a little slither of Xmas cake later. It's so delicious and I think a little of what you like does you good (or so my Grandma says!) because I'd be forever miserable if I had to cut little treats out of my diet completely
Who's with me!?
Today's plan...
B: Porridge with half banana and handful raisins
L: Leftover mushroom risotto, small pot yog, apple
Snack: Haven't brought anything extra into work so will try make it though the afternoon on green tea alone (eek!)Salmon portion with lemon/chilli glaze, new pots, brocolli and sweetcorn
Evening snack: Cup of tea with small slice of xmas cake if I feel like it
Exercise: Probably none today due to the snow. I've run almost 20K in the past 3 days anyway so I'm not too fussed if I have a day off.
Have a good day everyone :j0 -
well I'm at home today, so I need to avoid the kitchen!
Plan for today is:
b - oats so simple golden syrup flavour
l - greek salad, scone with reduced sugar jam (only 140cals for the scone)
d - tomato soup and roll
Think I'm gonna wait til the weekend to weigh myself...!Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Absolutely 100% agree, I would never have lost as much as I have without learning a few things from my OH who has been the exact same weight all his adult life. If he wants a bacon sandwich, he has one, if he wants cherry pie and ice cream he has it and because of that mentality he doesn't feel like its the last time he might be able to eat it and have 3 bacon butties and half a cherry pie!
Still going quite well, hoping for a loss this weekend and I reckon it will be a good one as long as I hold it together until Saturday!
B: 2 wholemeal toast no butter and blueberry bay jam
L: Warm ciabatta with mozarella, green pesto and vine tomatoEither pasta pesto with a big salad or beans on toast
S: Probably nothing as I still haven't ventured out in the snow
Have a good week all0 -
Morning all....
Yesterday went fine, but when I input my food diary into the Active Health game on my DS I was rather surprised to see how many calories were in the fajitas and quite high in salt too.....it probably didn't help that I had 3 wraps, but they were lovely
Plan for today...
BREAKFAST - 2 shredded wheat with half a pint of semi-skimmed milk (I like plenty of milk on my cereal), glass OJ, large tea.
LUNCH - Bowl of H/M spicy carrot & lentil soup & 2 slices wheaten scone with spread.
DINNER - Grilled gammon steak, boiled potatoes, cabbage, carrots & gravy.
Have a good day everyone :j0 -

Did anyone watch My Big Fat Diet Show on channel 4 last night?
The bit where it showed you how much of a certain food came to 100 calories was quite interesting...or should I say frightening! Don't think I could ever be a calorie counter!
May give the recipe for "skinny korma" a go though.0 -

Yes I watched it......loved it when the girl put back the oil in favour of the wine....girl after my own heart
The curry looked lovely didn't it, I wouldn't usually be a korma fan; but I liked the look of that one. :T0 -

I thought this programme was good and will be watching the series, however I was slightly disheartened when showed that 12 haribo sweets = 100 cals! The number of times I've munched my way through a big bag of haribo... Also 2 quality street chocs = 100 cals! I suppose I should know these things but still, it's an eye opener to see it measured out like that.0 -

This is the hardest bit for me  I REALLY struggle with the "just having a little bit..." but I know that's what I should do!! I lose loads when I diet normally because I abstain from ALL naughties, but then, maybe after a week, or a month or even 10 months I feel so cheesed off that I'm going without that I stuff and stuff and stuff!!Then I get fat again  SO it doesn't work does it Frogga? NO it doesn't. I've been learning to "just have one/a little bit/ a taste" and I do feel much happier.
Having said that I do try and only have choccy at the weekend and as I've gone without carp for 3 days now I have a splitting headache. It just shows me what I'm putting into my body to get withdrawal symptoms like that
Anyway, day 3 nearly over so must keep going.....
