  • Thanks taplady, that's great advice.
Is there anything low cal/fat that you can chew on, as that tends to be a big problem for me - needing to keep my mouth full?

Sounds like a good day of food, keep it up!:)

I tend to use sugar-free gum (Orbit spearmint is my preferred kind). However, it can give you the runs if you take too much!! I too knit at night...it fairly stops the munchies (well, most of them). I am busy making lots of gilets for family and friends, and scarves with the left-over balls, all Christmas presents.

WI today...I forgot over the weekend, and I have STS... Mind you, considering what I have been eating the past week (TOTM), especially this weekend - had a birthday meal out, and lots of cake!

I suppose I shouldn't grumble...I haven't gained anything after all!. I will have to lose 2 pounds this week to catch up on the "losing 7 pounds before Christmas" plan!! So no twinks hob-nobs (chocolate!), buns or mini-mars-type for the rest of this year, well....not as many!! ;)

    Food for today:

B: Porridge made with soya milk and raisins; OJ
    S: chewing gum...so far!
L: HM soup, HM bread, banana
    S: chewing gum?
T: Smoked haddock poached in milk; potatoes & veg
    S: Chewing gum

At least that is the plan!! Must make more SF jellies with fruit added, I make four servings, in Easiyo tubs with screw-lids, so I can take one if I go out...better for me than succumbing to chocolate! :D

    Have a good day folks

Aargh, having real problems previewing this post, here's hoping I can submit it now!

keiss - good suggestion about the sugar free jellies:T

other snacks I sometimes have are grapes - quite often take a tubful in the car to nibble on, carrot sticks, cucumber sticks(maybe a bit of lowfat hummous although not a fan myself) I find Walkers french fries are great as they take ages to nibble and are quite low cal for crisps. I also carry something in my bag in case of a munchie attack - small apple or a few raisins or a cereal bar like alpen light.

  • I do mention WW points on here in my posts and I am aware that it's not OS but it's the only thing that's worked for me in years. I've tried dieting myself at home and I lose the willpower after about a month as I have issues with eating when I don't actually feel hungry!! I feel spending £17 a month on WW is ok for me and whilst I try to follow a OS way of life, it's not worth making myself unhappy :)

My weekend was hit and miss. Went to the cinema on Friday night and the lure of the pick and mix proved too much and I ended up feeling sick afterwards :D Had some HM soups at the weekend to try and balance it all out!

    Today:

    breakfast - yogurt
    lunch - soup and yogurt
dinner - chicken and chorizo chickpea stew (chicken left over from weekend soups)
snack - small piece of rocky road for someone's birthday in the officer (HM too!)

I see it's a couple of days since I posted. Not beeen toooooo bad. Parents here so slightly different meal regime.

Friday we had main meal soup followed by plum gingerbread pud & custard. I didn't have a massive helping. Plenty of soup and no bread.

Saturday sandwich for lunch and DH and I had a meal out in the evening. Sharing platter (not a fried one) for starter and crab/seafood ravioli for main.
Yesterday lunch was a small bacon buttie and 2 very small mince pie. Pastry shrunk! Dinner was salmon and veg. Pud was fresh pineapple and evap.

Today I had porridge for breakfast and some prunes. Lunch so far is a cuppa soup which is not nice, but no other available. It won't stop there! DS and I having left over veg plus fishcakes from LO potato and salmon.

Might get some mushrooms when I go out later and make a pot of soup, or cook with an egg for lunch. I don't feel like buying a load of salad as most would get chucked out on a week like this. No shopping planned but will seee what aldi super6 has to offer.

  • Hi everyone, I'm a bit of a lurker on this thread but just had to respond to this:

YES! I was out at lunchtime and fancied something a bit naughty for the afternoon and found a bag of Worcester Sauce (yum!) French Fries - at 94 calories that's about 10 or so less than the equivalent sized bag of Snack-a-Jacks, and about half that of a bag of normal crisps - I was very impressed as you may be able to tell!

In response to Steph, I try to fill up on fruit teas when I'm at work, or even a low calorie cup-a-soup if it's really bad! I know you don't chew either of those, but it might help you to feel full?
