Hi all,
I'm writing yesterday off as post-time off blues, all was fine until it got to 3pm and I got hungry/bored/stressed so I started picking at the garbage that people bring into the tea room. As a result I ended up eating about 10 chocolate biscuits of various types then after eating my dinner I ws so annoyed with myself I had 2 slices of buttered toast as well......Forget it and back on the wagon today
B: Muesli and skimmed milk
L: HM veg soupHM Chickpea curry with rice and 1/2 naan
S: Small skinny latte
I feel OK today but I still seem to be hungry constantly, must be getting used to the early starts again0 -
Well I seem to have 12 lbs to lose now
Seems like everything has gone to pot after losing my dad
Have discovered though - thought all bread was giving me stomach problems - but it's not, HM bread is ok - so have been baking bread, cooking damson pies, apple crumbles, greengage crumbles (all mini crumbles though) not to mention twinks hobnobs
Anyone got any words of wisdom to give me a kick up the butt before I make the chelsea buns that are calling to me?working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Quick update, not going well, feeling very down but trying to get back up again. Food not too bad but need more exercise. Birthdays all over now so must concentrate.

I think I need to join in here. After a lot of recent events domestically which left me comfort eating for the first time in my life I have gone from a skinny person to needing to loose at LEAST a stone:eek:
Never having dieted in my life I really have no clue where to start apart from the fat that it will need to be fairly cheap so Atkins, South beach and all those things are definately out.
I have developed a sweet tooth which is new :eek: and I am finding myself grazing on total and utter junk. Yesterday for example I consumed 1 hot chocolate, 8 mugs of tea (sans sugar) 4 chokkie biscuits and 4 packs of crisps oh and a bottle of coke. I have cupboards of biscuits that folks brought me when they came to visit but now that I am being left pretty much alone I can't put them out for visitors.
I need support and w2ordfs of wisdom from you kind people, oh and a kick up the rear:o:o:o0 -
Hi Mudgekin,
Welcome aboard, if you work, the quickest way to get rid of biscuits without feeling bad about wasting things is to take them into the work tearoom or officeI do this all the time!
It sounds like you have just developed a few bad eating habits if you have always been skinny so its a bit easier to tackle than some with compulsive eating problems or stress eating problems.
If you can find what triggers you to eat the junk thats half the battle, is it boredom, stress, tiredness, thirst, anger, or something else? Once you have an idea what is setting off the need for junk you are some way to stopping it.
If you ditch all the junk straightaway you could end up feeling deprived so its usually easier to get rid of one thing at a time. So one week have a few bags of crisps less until you dont need them anymore then move on to biscuits and so on. Don't ban them all together as they become forbidden fruit that suddenly you start craving and thinking about all the time.
If its sweet things you are craving, make sure you have plenty of slow release carbs like brown rice, oats, sweet potatoes as they will control your blood sugar levels so that you are less likely to get the kind of spikes that cause the craving for a quick sugar fix. Have you been eating regular meals? Its easy to lose track of mealtimes when things are a bit unbalanced so make sure you eat regularly and include lots of veg to fill you up.
Also, if you are able, get outside and walk, cycle, run or something similar to boost your mood and get the blood moving. Its also particularly important to get some daylight exposure as the days are getting shorter and vitamin D levels drop which can affect the way you feel.
The main thing is, as far as you are able, cook from scratch because more than anything else it keeps you occupied!
Have a look through other peoples menus for ideas of what keeps you full and don't be afraid to snack if you're hungry just have something sensible like fruit, hoummus and crudites, oatcakes, fruit scone, flapjack, slice of wholemeal toast or a semi/skimmed milky drink
Please feel free to ask any advice and keep coming back to let us know how you're getting on. None of us are dieticians or nutritionists but we know what works without resorting to daft fad diets and expensive supplements that make you thin but ill
GOOD LUCK X
B: 50g muesli, skimmed milk and 1 pear

DH also weighed in the other night and has put half a stone back on so he's cutting back on the carp too which should help me as there wont be so much temptation:T
Have a great weekend all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi all
A good finish to the week last night and when I weighed this morning the scales was teetering between a maintain and a loss so that will do me
I am supposed to be going mountain biking today but I am developing a chest infection so I'm in two minds whether to go or not. I wish people who are ill would stay away from work, I always seem to get infections from the same 2 people who play martyr and come in when they are ill. Fair enough they may think its mild but I have bad asthma so a chest infection is never mild for me
Anyway, today should be fine as I have lots to do so less time for picking but tomorrow I am going to my friends for a 'girls lazy Sunday'. Basically we buy lots of crap scandal magazines like Heat and OK and sit in comfy clothes all day reading , snoozing and drinking tea. Its our treat every few weeks or so as we both work really hard and have stressful jobs, the only downside is it usually inolves cake or a bar of chocolate as well so I will have to be careful
B: Chopped pear, banana and apple
L: Warm ciabatta with mozarella, pesto and vine tomatoThe menu planner says a roast but I haven't been shopping so it could be anything!
Have a good weekend all and well done for keeping at it :T0 -
ust a quickie to say I had stayed the same for two weeks running - which is at least better than a gain.
Am off on holiday in 5 weeks so had hoped I could have managed to lose a bit more for then. Still every pound tat stays off is a bonus.
Am having a lovely weekend, the weather has been glorious and I hope we have time to get soe of the garden cleared today as it's a shambles.
Good luck to you all.0 -

Yesterday was fine for me apart from burning an entire pan of chutney that was meant for Christmas presents  serves me rigt for trying to do things when I'm under the weather.
B/L: Warm ciabatta and mozarella (ran out of everything else)
Probably a curry as I am going to see my friend, she has also made a Yorkshire curd cheese tart and wants me to 'test' it......Oh dear!
Have a great day all0 -
