    Hello and thank you for welcome,

    Today:
    Brekkie: Bran flakes
    Snack: apple and satsuma
    Lunch: HM sarnie
    Snack: muesli (I was really hungry:o)
    Supper: some left over boiled potatoes fried with couple of eggs and leftover sandwich meat (before it goes off ) and frozen peas served with lettuce, cucumber and tomatoe

    Very proud of my good start and not eating any treats at work.Also went for a walk with friend but we had my 15 year old dog and her 1.5 daughter with us so can't really call that much of excercise

  • Hi everyone!! Could I join in as well!

    It may just be the motivation I need! I have been healthy eating since beginning of year and have lost 1 stone and 4 pounds but have plateaued for a bit! I am now 13st 1lb and plan to lose about 3 stone in total! Just need to be a bit more disaplined so hopefully following this thread and posting occasionally it will help me to my end goal.

    Hi everybody and a special welcome to newbies

    Have read your post twice Keiss, very sensible advice, thanks.

    Have been having a bit of a binge over the last few days....blaming the fact that my car was stolen on Friday night, as I always eat for Ireland when stressed. Car was found on Saturday but haven't got it back yet so still feeling stressed and paranoid about things being stolen! Well, that's my excuse anyway, have been a little better to-day. Menu was:

    B....Banana;
    L....turkey salad sandwich with side salad and large cappuccino with no sugar;
    Sn..Apple, plum, 2 satsumas;
    D....Steak, sweetcorn, steamed potatoes, whole fried onion, little gravy, slice of banana bread with butter, tea;
    Sn...Quarter pineapple

    Congratulations to losers

    Recipe given by Mrs Mcawber many many posts ago!

    A good, relatively low fat option. It took a while to find it in my collection of saved recipes from this thread. Will root around for another I am sure I have. So far I haven't made any as I am likely to eat it all in one go, but will give it a try and see how it works...much better than the traditional high fat originals!

    By the way, has anyone seen or heard from Mrs M lately??

Thanks for the recipe Keiss :) I have everything in bar apple juice, do have cranberry juice and orange juice, may try making them with one of those juices to save pennies, got some dried cranberries in I could add as well. They'll be about the same cals as the shop bought ones but will I think be healthier! Was going to make apple & raisin bran muffins this aftie but will change and make these instead :)

    Breakfast - Yogurt & Apple & Decaf Coffee
    Dinner - Ham Salad Sandwich, Grapes
    Snack - Banana
    Tea - Tuna Bake, Wedges & Salad
    Pud - Sugar Free Jelly, Peaches & Ice Cream

    If all goes to plan!

    Thanks Lemon Verbena, I was thinking of making some too...only have cranberry & blueberry juice, so might try that, should be interesting. Do you use your namesake in cooking? I put some lemon verbena leaves into a jar with hm caster sugar. After a few days/weeks the sugar is lovely and lemony...use it for baking sweet cakes & things, oh I am getting hungry again for sweet stuff!

    I will go and see if I can track down Mrs M, she is such an inspiration, shame she doesn't post here any more.

    Anyway, food for today:

    B: Porridge with soya milk, water & raisins, OJ
    S: nothing!
    D:HM Houmous, with toasted HM Bread, tomatoes, sweet peppers & lettuce - yummy, and very filling plus banana/apple if I am not too full!
    S: fruit, probably a nectarine
    T: DS2 making pizza for everyone else, not sure what to have, probably Baked Pot & baked beans, we'll see, make have some cheese-less pizza if the temptation is too great!
    S: perhaps some HM cereal bars if I make some!

    Must try and track down the other cereal bar recipe, then off out for a walk, not sure how far I will get today. Slow but sure is the motto I have to try and stick to!

    Enjoy the rest of today.

    M

    Another good cereal bar recipe, but higher in fat:

    Chewy seed health bars

    200g butter
    200g golden syrup
    300g porridge oats
    50g pumpkin seeds
    50g sunflower seeds
    50g dessicated coconut
    50g plain flour
    150g brown sugar
    150g chopped dried apricots
    125g peanut butter (crunchy)
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    Melt butter and syrup in a saucepan.
    Add all remaining ingredients into a mixing bowl and pour in melted butter and syrup.
    Combine thoroughly.

    Pour onto a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper.
    Cook for 20-25 minutes in pre-heated 160C oven.
    Cut into pieces and allow to cool before removing, else they break up.
    You can also vary the seeds and fruit used to any of your choice. Try prunes, sultanas, sesame seeds, etc.

    Provided by Toxic Lemon, again, many posts ago!
