I couldn't resist a quick jump on the scales this morning and was pleased to see that I was down to 23st 4lbs - so that means I have lost 12 lbs since New Year's Day, mainly down to the enforced smaller portions in hospital. Anyway | am going to go to SW tomorrow and will count their weight as my official WI for this week. I went to the Cardiologist today and I have got an appointment about the operation for 6th April which gives me 3 months to get my weight down enough for them to start the process of booking me in for my heart procedure. I know I won't be thin enough to have the operation done by April, but you have to have warferin treatment for at least 3 months before the surgery so that means that the very earliest I could get it done would be July and I certainly could have lost enough by then. I have to be 17 stone or less to get it done so fingers crossed!

Today I had two slices of dry wholemeal toast with hm blueberry jam for breakfast and lunch was 2 low fat sausages, 2 grilled tomatoes, 2 poached eggs, about a quarter of a tin of beans (leftovers in fridge) and a slice of dry wholemeal bread plus 2 cups of decaff tea.

On the subject of pedometers - Lloyds Pharmacy do a good one really cheaply because they get some kind of subsidy (they also do bp machines and blood sugar checkers really cheap in the same way) - I think they are around a fiver, but they are much better than the little basic ones which aren't very accurate. I've got one but haven't used it much, but I am going to from now on. I know that I don't get anywhere near 10,000 steps, but I am going to aim for 5,000.

Hope you are all enjoying the cold weather! I love the Winter and really don't like the hot weather at all - I'm weird I know.

Hi Everyone! Used to post very occasionally on here many moons ago, but having just retired I need to do something NOW to get my weight down (probably by at least 3 stone). I'd second the recommendation for the Omron pedometer - bought mine a couple of years ago via Amazon, and when I use it it's great motivation. When at school I could just about do 10 - 11,000 steps daily, but at home I'm struggling to get to 6,500! So, that's one thing I need to do - shift myself a lot more! I always struggle with portion sizes too, and of course am much more able to nibble at home whereas at school if I didn't have anything to snack on I just couldn't. Hmmm, clearly I'm going to require loads of nagging if I'm to get anywhere. All kicks welcome - and I hope you don't mind me joining you.
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!

I have one I bought last year from TK Max for a fiver, not sure how good it is compared to a 25 pound (no sign) one but I'm happy with it. I too struggled to reach 10K a day so since xmas have decided to go for 5K and then up the number once I am comfortably achieveing my goal. Hoping to increase by 1K a month so will be doing 10K by summer. I don't reset it every day so I also do a weekly average to cover the days I am off target. So far this week (starts Monday so ony 2 days) I have managed 8K a day total at the moment is 16148. I have achieved 35K for the last 2 weeks so I am improving.

  • Just a quick hello and welcome to beemuzed and well done to isparticus on the 5.6lb loss and to RS on being so positive about the loss and the future plans despite the drastic way it was caused. Happy vibes pouring through the thread.

    B. bitesize shredded wheat (dry)

    L. pastrami and beetroot sandwich
    cup a soup
    melon

    D. sausage and oven chips

snacks: 2 satsumas and 2 celery sticks.

I am very proud of myself that I have stayed away from the chocolate :rotfl::rotfl:
  • i've been fasting for the past two days and will be until thursday - not for weight loss though, for religion!! But it made me realise that i obviously do have the willpower to not eat any old rubbish at any old time!

Have put in some time on the Wii Fit and hope to continue doing this, so gonna try to keep it realistic so i get there this time.

I watched Paul Mckenn again today and find him really good and he does make it sound sooo easy! Even if it just works as a little motivator, I'm gonna watch it all week - so wich i had sky+ to record it! - as the little things he says make sense, are easy to do and seem to work.

I'm having toast for Brekkie at about 6am and then a Jacket potato to open my fast just after 4pm, maybe some toast in evening.

    Have a good day everyone.

Wow, well done isparticus and RS!

I've realised my eating plan just isn't going to plan and I need a re-think. I'm trying to eat healthily but things just keep sneaking in and my portions are way to big even when it is healthy food. So will try to exercise some more self control today!

    Breakfast: banana, cereal (1)

Lunch: half a baked potato, tuna and sweetcorn in light mayo, and salad (1)

Dinner: hm roast veg quiche and salad (2)

Snack: satsuma, melon and grapes (2)

    icon7.gifDaily eating plan

Freezing cold last night and I ended up eating the remains of a large bag of salted peanuts that my husband started and left on the table next to me. Mmm - accident or sabatoge:mad::rolleyes: Mind you nobody forced them down my gullet:rotfl::o!

New day new start - here is what I will have today (hopefully)

Breakfast - oats so simple with blueberries and milk (heb, free, hea) - I know it was the same as yesterday but when it is so cold it just has to be oatmeal!:T

Lunch - Must eat that left over stew from a couple of days ago. Was supposed to have it yesterday but I made the most fabulous Dutch Pea Soup which was so delicious it makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I will have the rest of it tomorrow for lunch (assuming OH doesn't snaffle all of it for lunch today) (free)

Dinner - Lamb hotpot - (should be free now on easy peasy plan:j) will have with roast pumpkin which I just found under my kitchen table (don't ask! :o:p)- the pumpkin wasn't roast when I found it you understand!

Not planned any syns yet, no doubt they will find me!

    Love
    Marion
