Well done Marion for a great loss!:T also to Procrastinator for STS:T
Newlywed - the cheats soup is one of Retired-lady's recipes 1 tin of toms and 1 tin of any sort of beans - heated up and then blitzed with added seasoning such as chilli powder. You can also add onion. Its nice if you save a few of the 'whole' beans to add at the end when serving.(you can even use baked beans - I used canellini)
plzhelpmesave - I watched Paul Mckenna last night and think he talks a lot of common sense its mainly about eating slowly and thinking about what you're eating.Do what you love :happyhear0 -

Thanks tappy - that sounds easy and usually have butterbeans or cannellini in the cupboard too.
I've just been to sainsbugs and avoided the chocolates and the nice biscuits, and the cakes too - didn't even go down the aisles - although the half price "extremely chocolatey cake" on the end of the aisle did tempt me briefly
Got some half price "go ahead" biccies, so got some of those for snacks at work, as well as some half price microwave popcorn. Worth a try since I always seem to get the munchies for something sweet
Our local chippy is shut till the end of January so at least that's one temptation out of the way for a few weeksworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Wow Frogga's back :T :j . New year and we're all returning to the fold, den or pond depending on your species.:D It makes me realise how much I've missed you all. Thanks for the welcome back folks and a big :hello: to all the newbies. Look forward to getting to know you all.
RS get well soon flower, ((((hugs)))).
Congratulations Retired Lady what a fantastic loss. Brilliant especially at this time of year.
Yesterday just to be on the safe side, the dried up looking piece of Christmas cake went out for the birds. Taking no chances of giving in to the blooming thing. However before the birds had a chance, 'great protector' wolfed it down dispite my best efforts to stop him. Last week 'Pupkin' polished off a Bill Odie special including mealworms  .
Today I've been in the woods, in a park, on the beach and pounding the pavements behind one dog or another. DH couldn't bring himself to take pupkin this morning to I had him as well as the other two to walk. If only I'd thought to put on a pedometer. Should have clocked up a fair few steps. DH will be in the dog house well and truely if the same thing happens tomorrow as I've got DD's dog to walk as well.
All went well foodwise yesterday:
Breakfast - one oatabix with wheat bran, half a banana, few grapes, spoon of set yogurt and sprinkling of almonds with SS milk. Juice and coffee
Lunch - 1 thick slice of toast and marg (must buy some butter) with third of tin of baked beans.
Snack - one large date and a fig
Tea - Medium jacket potato, salad, small piece of flan and a garlic ciabatta, heaven nomnomnom
Today same but for tea we will have Spanish rice with a chopped sausage mixed in and a small bread roll warmed in the oven. Lovely.
Will probably be fast asleep just after 9 with all the cold fresh air so that'll stop any nasty evening munchies or Frogga's toad. She says hopefully
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life, gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are." Unknown0 -
Are there any lists of tried and tested recipes on this thread. I have thought about Weight Watchers - they are doing 2 weeks free trial on the net, Have thought about SlimmingWorld and have watched Paul McKenna on the tv but not sure what to do.
Have walked briskly parking the car a longish way from where I needed to be this morning and have eaten healthily but could do with a "plan".
Anyone got any suggestions?
Well done all those who have already got started properly.
Suzid my dogs did the same with the stuff we put out for the birds!!!!

Thanks for all the welcomes back
Nice to see you again Newlywed and Susid :j I've missed you too.
It's been a funny old day :undecided I feel a bit sad about it all. I'm worried about RS cause she's been in hospital for AGES now and she's usually only in for a day or two. It's a bit too close to home as well as I can't help thinking that could be any one of us.
I went to my GP today for a routine check up cause of being on the pill. I didn't see my GP though, I saw the nurse  She did my blood pressure, and then...................she weighed meit was horrible. My usual GP knows ALL about all my eating dissorders and years of abuse to myself and I don't have to explain anything. She started asking me questions like " have you thought about loosing any weight?" I just burst into tears ( how mortifying!) and told her my whole life story
She offered me some Slimming World vouchers but I said thanks but no thanks. I sound rude and ungrateful but I don't need help on how to loose weight, and the right foods to eat et.c. Slimming World et al is not for me. She then said I could see her weekly for a weigh in and a chat et.c I said yes please to that. She was very nice and I think it might help. She also gave me the details of a local support group but I don't fancy that, not my cup of tea. I can hear you all shouting at me to go but I know me and I know I'd hate it
While I've been typing RS just phoned and she's comming out tonight :j Phew! She'll let you all know the details later I expect.
SO ho hum, the day is nearly over and I guess I've made some possitive steps today. Just got to get to next Tuesday when I go back to the nurse and see how I've done. I am TRYING to learn from past mistakes and not go mad depriving myself. That always leads to dissaster for me. On Friday 1st Jan I ate nothing but fruit and drank loads of juice in a bid to 'detox', then I stuffed all of Saturday cause I was cheesed off  What a shock!
So, I'm having yummies everyday, just not bingeing. Good luck to us 18stoners Happy Rags :T and to the rest of you, bigger or smaller, who continue to fight with the bl00dy toadSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

I wouldn't be shouting at you to go - I tried WW without going to the group (my sister went). The whole thought of being told off for not losing any weight etc would be too horrible. And counting stuff (calories, fat grams etc) makes me obsessive to the extreme so that's not healthy either.
Yes I agree with the not depriving theory - it seemed to work quite well for you before. I hate thinking I can't eat something - it just makes me miserable. Much better to think I could eat that, but I won't - or I'll have something less fattening than that one as a treat instead - but still have a treat.
I just need to make sure I limit my treats as they have increased somewhat - and so has my butt!!That's why I bought go ahead biccies - still a biccy treat to go with my cuppa but not a whole packet of butter shortbread biscuits.
Must start walking again soon - don't mind the cold as long as it is bright and sunny.
Glad to hear the good news about RS.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
plzhelpmesave! wrote: »Welldone Marion - 4.5lb in a week is great!! what is extra easy pls???
good luck!
Extra Easy is the new addition to the Slimming World diet plans. Basically all the foods that are free on red and free on green are now all free! You only have 1 hea and 1 heb choice instead of the normal 2. All syns are counted at the lower amount. For instance if something is 2 syns on red but 10 syns on green then you would count it as 2 syns
You still get the normal number of syns that you always have had
MarionWhen life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -
Managed to watch some of Paul McKenna in the daytime but had a house full of kids so didn't really take in much - will watch it again this evening.
Frogga and Newlywed - good sensible thinking guys! We all know what to do, it is just a case of doing it!0
