Welcome back Frogga and hello to all the new starters :hello:

Although the scales told me a few days ago I had maintained over Christmas, I feel larger and really sluggish so for my own sanity I need to get back into things quick-smart.
The last of the Christmas carp is going tomorrow, OH and I both have cheese and chutney sandwiches for lunch and the rest of the cake is packed up tight ready to go to my Momma next week.

In a way, I am pleased I won't be having soup for lunch tomorrow as I am dreading work enough without being fed up that I have to eat soup again! Its never my favourite food but I find that its the only thing that keeps me full during a long working day.

B/L: Boiled eggs and soldiers again, all the eggs are gone now :o

D: HM Quorn cottage pie with mashed swede, steamed cabbage, broccoli and peas and a drop of gravy.

S: I had a piece of Christmas cake this afternoon as a 'goodbye' to the rest of it ;)

    Good luck everyone
  • Nice to see you back Frogga I've missed your posts.
Today went for a long walk round a NT garden. Very cold, there were quite a lot of steps and steep bits and I did get out of puff several times so hopefully some new muscles excercised. Have done my 35K steps this week so I am very pleased.
Bfast toast with lime marmalde and coffee. Had at 11 so no lunch.
Dinner quorn sausage with roast pots, parsnip, carrot and sprout. (Yep, singular, I hate sprouts.) Kiwi with a little vanilla ice cream.
    Snack coffee and clemintines.
OH opened the last box of after eight so have indulged in a few. Have now put the box away, shouldn't be many left once he and the teens have been at it.

Hi, I would like to join you all. I have set myself a New Years Resolution to loose weight for definite this year. As I'm back to work tomorrow I thought it would be a good day to start that nasty four letter word (diet). I have set a target of 1 stone every 2 months all year, and I could really do with some support.:rotfl:

    hi, im new here.

I really want to loose some weight. I am disabled so im limited to very light excersise.
I need some advice on how to stop myself eating so much.

If i have a packet of biscuits in the cupborard thne i will eat it all. it has got to the point where i cant buy any snacks like buisciuts or chocoalte or even crisps. i can eat 4 bags of crisps one after the ohter just because they are there. im not even hungry when i eat them, i just eat them. i get so angry with myself afterwards. Im not really overweight im size 12.

i also i no dont drink enough. i drink about 2 cups of tea a day as i never think about having a drink. could this be why im eating more.

    Any advice greatfully recieved.

if i have posted on the wrong thread then please feel free to move.

    thanks
    Comping for christmas x

    Welcome magical, lellyo, and shezza!

magical, I have the same problem as you - if it is in my cupboard I will eat it all up in a munchily quick time. So I don't buy that stuff and it's no great loss to my life really. The reason a lot of people binge on these types of foods is because they are addictive, and when we want to get rid of an addiction we can't have what we are addicted to lying around. I've given up fags for ages now, but if there was a pack in the cupboard I don't think I'd last that long before tearing open the foil and having a smoking frenzy.

As far as snacks go I like to chop up a melon, add some nice sweet grapes, and keep a bowl of that in the fridge to peck at when I am having a snack attack - it really does kill the sugar cravings. And I always have nuts and other fruit around. Sometimes when out and about I go all twitchy when I pass a newsagent, and sometimes I cave in and buy chocolate. But it's a lot easier to resist than if it was in my cupboard at home. The battle's already lost then because I have brought it into my house with the intention of eating it!

And yes, drink more :D . Do you not like water? It might help to have a bottle of water by your side all day that contains what you should drink in a day - then you can keep an eye on what you have actually drunk. Maybe flavour it with a little fruit juice if you find water a bit boring? Hope this helps x

I did well yesterday, though succumbed to a piece of christmas cake in the evening (OH broke it open when I was planning to give it away to someone).

    Today's plan:

Breakfast: 1/2 banana, satsuma, small bowl of left-over hm curry and quinoa (2)

Lunch: spanish omelette and salad (1)

Dinner: Jamie's fish pie, broccolli, carrots and peas (2)

    Snacks: satsumas, grapes

Good morning everyone:j This is a flying visit as I am off to SW in a minute to get weighed. Not expecting good news again:o Yesterdays eating was ok but had to change the menu at the last minute. I was going to make a beef casserole cooked slowly in the oven. Took the meat out of the freezer the night before and left on kitchen counter to defrost. When I went to prepare it at noon the next day it was still frozen solid! My kitchen is as cold as the fridge I reckon! So I made a pasta bake and will be having the beef stew tonight instead!

    Todays eating plan:

Breakfast - fruit and yogurt - (free)
Lunch - Left over pasta bake (free)
Dinner - Beef stew with vegetables cooked slowly in the oven plus mashed potatos (free+2heb)
Milk in coffees will be hea

Will report my weigh in results in about 3 hours - wish me luck!

    Love
    Marion
ps - and the knob on my dishwasher is broken - I pushed it in and it went in completely and fell down somewhere inside the door:eek:

pps - had a completely no spend weekend so still have £8.37 left to spend until Thursday. My fridge has never been so empty! Freezers and cupboards still full though:D
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!

    Morning all!

    welcome to all the newbies!

Marion - good luck with SW weigh in - got my fingers crossed for you!;)

Magical - the suggestion of having some water with you all day is a good one - quite often we feel hungry when we are really thirsty. JoJoB had some good ideas bout snacks too - I quite often have some sugar free jelly in the fridge for when I need something sweet, also dried apricots, grapes and mini bananas. rice cakes, oat cakes or more healthy snacks are better to keep in the cupboards.

    Food today

B - poached egg on toast

L - jacket spud with tinned spaghetti

D - mash, peas and veggie fingers(using up odds and ends from freezer)(2)

snacks - banana clementines dried apricots(3) sugar free jelly lowfat squirty cream.

back later , have a good day all

Frogga - good luck with the official start of your diet!;) you can do it!
    Do what you love :happyhear
