Thanks for your welcome back Marie. It's good to see how everyone has been getting on, and there's been loads of weight losses.
Unfortunately, my first week of actually making a conscious effort to lose more weight has resulted in a 4 pound gain!!!
I am so ashamed!!
Oh well, I will have to work harder this coming week. It's my TOTM soon (dates unsure due to aging Mirena coil), which would explain some of the weight gain, but I can't believe it would be 4 pounds! Lets see what a week of better planning and more exercise can do!
I am off to find out exactly what is in my freezer, fridge and cupboards (and boxes, but more of that in another post perhaps), so I can plan meals for the next week or two.
Enjoy your Sunday...despite the rain...my washing has already been out and in twice this morning, so it will be spending the rest of the day in the conservatory on an airer!
Talk tomorrow, when I will be sooooo organised (I wish!)!!!!

hi
22/07 I weighed 11st 7.5lb (OH got us new scales which give v precise measurements)
weighed myself this morning and I am 11st 5.75lb woo hoo I have lost weight!!!!:j
have been eating smaller portions and a bit more active
y'days food plan went ok
brunch- hm pancake with a banana
snack - @ cinema, some of kids sweet popcorn, lots of water
tea - rest of family had takeaway pizza, i had rice, fish and veg
snack - packed of crisps but managed not to eat chocolate which OH had bought for me ... even though it was sitting at me feet as I watched tv!!!!! i managed to refrain myself
supper - crackers and smoked salmon
today
breakfast - hm pancake and banana
lunch - bagel, tomato and smoked salmon
snack - muller light yogurt
dinner - ???? not sure yet, pasta, chorizo, and crème freche
had a good swim today with the kids after breakfast... also plan to do some weights later, am going to get into routine of even doing 20 mins of this a day, have downloaded fitness programme which talks me through exercises but find it very hard getting organised to do it, so going to aim to do a little bit every day while watching tv
that's me for today, so pleased about weight loss, think smaller portion sizes have really helped, particularly when you look at back at excess of treats this week
my theory is not to see this new way of eating as 'being on a diet', as in the past i have been too impatient with diets and end up losing faith and going back to old habits, so my plan is just be careful of what I eat and how much, combined with being more active, living on a tight budget means I am now more focused on what we eat, how i cook, so far its all going well - I intend staying positive, we are visiting friends in September who I only see once a year - this year I do not want to be seen as being rounder than our last visit and i won't be!0 -
I've managed to pop on, in between playing Mario on the Wii with my little nephew!
Well it's been a really busy weekend so I've not stopped since Saturday morning, so I hope that will go towards the calories I've eaten.
Today started well with porridge and continued with a packed lunch when we were at the Science museum in Birmingham, so all reasonably healthy there. But ooooooh dear, we've treated ourselves to a McDonalds for dinner and I've had a Big Mac meal!
So it will be a miracle if I've lost any weight this week, as on the whole, I've had 50% "bad" days eating-wise.
Will let you know tomorrow morning........

Had quite a good day since the WI.
Brekfast, 2 x croisants (once a fortnight treat)
Lunch, Rice, chicken and veg
Dinner, Sausage butty!
Snacks - Fruit of various types
The sausage butty was something quick when OH and I got in from the gym - I did 15 mins treadmill, 20 mins rowing machine, some stomach exercises and then 14 lengths in the pool and finished off in the steam room. We joined the gym about 4 months ago and while I haven't lost weight it has made me feel much healthier. There are also a supprising number of ladies who are larger than me so I don't feel at all embarassed which was always my biggesst worry.0 -
Cazz how was the science museum. We might be spending a week in the Birmingham area. We intend to visit Cadbury's World and Warwick Castle but would love some suggestions for the other days.
Today I had:
B. Muesli and semi-skimmed milk
S. Apple
L. Bacon and butternut squash soup and a ham sandwich.
S. Yellow Bell pepper (as recommended by Paul Plakas on X-weighted. They're s bit anti-social though with the amount and strength of wind). Cherries and a plum.
D. Roast beef, mash potato, corn on the cob and green beans. A dspful of sugar free jelly.
S. Strawberries, raspberries and cherries with 0% Greek yoghurt.
Exercise: Walked 1.5 miles, 35 minutes on the exercise bike, 35 minutes on the treadmill, weights and abdominal exercises.0 -
not a brilliant day but better than yesterday which started well and ended badly
just couldnt seem to fill up.
today has been:
2 x toast with bit of butter
ham and rocket sandwich and a banana
haddock mornay with broccoli, cauliflower and 2 small pieces garlic bread
snacks have been: the odd bite of the kids bacon butty, couple of squares chocolate.
i feel to have eaten much more than that, it was a fairly big portion of the hm mornay and i am still feeling rather bloated. had a sneaky wi this morning and it was up 2 1/2lb from friday so thats some serious bloating going on, i havent eaten that much since then  grrrr
its lovely to see all the newbies and returning lurkers, the thread is usually quiet on a sunday :j:j:j:j

I lost 1 pound!! I am very pleased, as I was pretty naughty last week with my eating, but I did more exercise than usual, so maybe that helped.
Onwards and upwards!
On an off topic note, the Science Museum is called Thinktank at Milennium Point in Birmingham. We had a fantastic day. The dinosaur exhibition was great, but that is only a small part of what's there. Absolutely tons to do over 4 floors. We took our 5 year old nephew and were there for about 6 hours. There is also an IMAX theatre there (you have to pay separately for the IMAX) but we didn't go, as we had enough to do! Get there at 10am when it opens to make the most of it and take a packed lunch as the canteen is expensive. Milennium Point has it's own car park and parking is cheapest on Sundays - £2.80 all day.
