Hya folks, yes I am back again!

I have not been on here for over a month, but have decided it is time for me to come back and get the support of all you lovely people.

Hello again to all the "old posters", and welcome to all the newbies, this is a great forum, so stick with it. Well done to all the weight-losers, you are a great inspiration to all of us.

As you can see from my signature I have managed to lose quite a lot of weight so far this year, but I wouldn't recommend how I did it! (pancreatitis in mid-March
, then lots of gastric colic followed by gall bladder removal in late June). It's amazing how the threat of excruciating pain stops you from eating "the wrong stuff", which in my case has been any fat.

I weighed myself last Sunday, and have decided to make it my weigh-in day. I also got my OH to measure me in the various places that RC suggests (bust; waist; hips; widest part - scary! ; around both upper arms, thighs and knees). My total inches lost since 2/3/09 is 14, which I am really pleased with. I have had a great time going through my wardrobe to see which clothes fit or are too big!

As I have now had my gall bladder out, I shouldn't get any pain when eating fat, but I am still sticking to a "low-fat diet" a la Rosemary Conley (she started her diet after having gallstones), I try to keep below 3%fat.

I still have a bad back (injured it last December), but am due to have steroids injected into the facet joints once I can lie on my stomach comfortably for over half an hour (nearly there!). In the meantime I am taking a scary cocktail of painkillers and anti-inflammatories.

Exercise has been severely restricted for the last 7.5 months (the pancreatitis and its aftermath didn't help at all!)...but I am planning to start walking regularly every day. I have been walking the length of my garden (180 feet) most days for a few weeks, so now it's time to venture "outside". Might go out this evening after tea with my OH.

This is where I am now: 18stone 6, having lost 34 pounds and 14 inches so far this year.:j
I really want to get down to 11stone, a weight I haven't seen since I broke my back nearly 26 years ago...I would be a size 14 then, much better than the size 26/28 I now am (I am 5' 6" tall), not to mention healthier!!!

Not sure if I will have lost any weight this past week as I have been munching most days, with little moving about...so not looking forward to the WI tomorrow.
I still have a long way to go ....that's why I have come back here to get more inspiration and encouragement to keep on going.

I will post my food later tonight/tomorrow, once I have worked out what I am going to have!

Must do more planning, more planning, more planning..
    ;)
......and less talking, less talking....!!!! Better than...eating....eating though!:D

Welcome to all newbies and returnees. Well I weighed myself today and I was 13 stone 6lbs. So a 2lb loss despite doing less exercise.

    Today I had:

    B. Muesli and milk. Orange juice to drink.
    S. Date slice/flapjack
    L. Cottage cheese and mature cheddar sandwich (cheddar was what my husband cut but didn't want - so human dustbin ate it) and apple.
    S. Bell pepper and nectarine
    D. Bacon and butternut squash soup and one slice of cheese on toast.
    S. Bell pepper and strawberries.

Exercise: 35 minutes on Wii fit and an hour on the stepper.

Good morning everybody! I am back from my holiday to Belgium and am so happy to be home! I really miss my own bed when I am away and my own cooking :D

We travel on a limited budget which means 3 star hotels and no fancy restaurants. Which in this weeks experience meant rubber matresses which make you sweat, sweltering hot rooms with no air conditioning, swarms of mosquitoes when you open the window (have over 50 bites!), bar downstairs with music booming out till 3am :mad:and nothing to eat but cheese, ham, bread and beer (well there has to be some good in there somewhere:rotfl:) I am so! looking forward to eating some vegetables today!

Not a particularly good time and I don't intend going there again, much prefer Holland and the extra time getting there is worth it.

Anyhoo just reading back what I have written just realised that all the lovely new people on here will think I am a right moaner:o - so will stop right now and say A Nice Big Welcome to all the newbies. This is a great group with loads of support.

I get weighed in on Monday morning at SW club - expect very bad news then:rotfl::rotfl::p!

    Love

Well I couldn't wait to get weighed this morning cos I had felt so good about myself all week and I am please to announce a first week loss of 5lb. :j And I have you all to thank for just being there.

As I started out at 18st 4, I also crossed the 18st barrier and am now 17st 13, which is such a psycological boost as I have been over 18 for years.

Now I just hope I can keep this up (cruise booked for 30th Oct).

Hope you are all having a good weekend

Hello Everyone - can I join?

I would really like to lose a stone and a half by Christmas Eve! I am currently 11st 7lbs and have lost quite a bit of weight since attending a weight loss seminar back in June. I've been a member of all the clubs at some point or another and lost weight and then managed to put it all back on plus a few extra pounds!!

I have 2 very young children, and as a family we eat very well. It's important to me that my children appreciate good food and are not fed "junk" all the time. No food in my house is banned - that makes it all the more attractive. As a result my kiddies will often ask for an apple before chocolate!!

We mainly cook from scratch, although our meals tend to be repetative ( I work full time so haven't tended to think about lots of options and tend to stick to the same things). I would really like to eat low cost, highly nutitious meals with plenty of variety and lose weight in the process. I have also found success with altering how and when I eat - I now eat what i want, when I want, but eat more slowly and stop when I'm full (all learnt on the weight loss seminar).

I will be off on holiday this week, but will give myself a kick start report back during the middle of August.

Looking forward to the fun !!

Hi all and WELCOME ALL, NEWBIES AND RETURNING LURKERS :T I've been away for a few days with friends so I've got big shopping-induced blisters on my feet and I've probably overdone it. The food I've eaten was not in itself too bad, the portions were just too big so its time for me to put it in writing and think about what I need to do to get back into the swing.

    Fri:
    B: 2 wholemeal toast
L: Falafel wrap with a few chips (3 of us shared a side)
D: Vegetable curry with boiled rice (also had 2 bottles of beer and a vodka with lime and soda)

    Sat:
B: Quinoa and veg pattie in a granary roll with hoummus (went to Borough market but I only ate half of it)
L: Falafel with hoummus in wholemeal pitta with salad and tabouleh
    D: Vegetable burrito

    Sun:
    B: 2 wholemeal toast
    L: Veg dal
D: Not sure yet, will see if I can walk enough to get out and do some shopping (yes the blisters are REALLY big and on the balls of my feet!)

I've missed out on my cycling this weekend again because OH went with his friend on Friday, totally overdid it doing crazy downhill mountainbiking and now doesn't feel up to going with me

New week tomorrow and new optimism, so enjoy whats left of the weekend all :D
