Well finally weighed myself for the first time in ages! The scales I bought are electronic so there's no hoping the needle will move down a bit if I lean more to the left (like it did on the set at my parents house!)
Since my clothes have been a little looser reacently I was expecting my weight to be down but I'm actually 1kg heavier than I was expecting! Although I suspect that it's due to me exercising and replacing fat with muscle (at least I hope that's the reason!)

Hope everyone is doing well. Congrats to all the losers and to everyone else just keep going, we'll all get there eventually!

Hi all, i have fallen off the wagon somewhat. Not put any weight on but my eating is out of control. Im waiting to find out if im being made redundant and we have very little to do al day in work, so i just graze all day and find myself "wasting" the healthier options i have taken to work, and opting for twix and 2-3 packs of crisps some day

    Help, motivate me!

Sorry things haven't been going so well. You've worked hard to get yourself out of debt . Your hard working and patience enough to see the long term goal. Just think of today as been a new start and focus on the reason why you want to loose the weight. Good luck.

    Hiya Zippy,

Are you buying the 'extras' in work or taking them in? If you buy them, leave your money at home. Take enough for buses or essentials and leave the rest at home until you can get back on track. I did this for a few days when I was really spiralling out of control buying stuff from vending machines and running over to the shop to buy all sorts of pasties and junk. Worked a treat as I was too embarassed to borrow money from anyone for it :)

    B: Muesli and skimmed milk

    L: Chana dal

D: Jacket potato with tuna and huge salad

S: Skinny latte, banana and strawberries

Have a fab weekend all, off out on my bike tomorrow, rain or shine :)

Hello all, I'm new to this thread but it looks amazing and I am hoping to lose a considerable amount of weight the old style way. I start on Monday (don't we all, ha ha) proper, with upping my exercise and improving my diet.

I've got about 6 stones to lose in total, so this isn't going to be a quick fix - I'm planning on 12 - 18 months gradual weight loss. Gosh it seems like a huge task!

Anyway, for Storm, I really really sympathise with your gall stones problem. I had them terrible when I was 24 and eventually ended up having my gall bladder whipped out, so I don't get problems any more, but blimey, I had LOADS of trouble for a long time when I had the gallstones still there.

Evening meals: Have you thought about grilled chicken (or turkey, it's cheaper) breast with herbs/spices on e.g. cajun spice or honey & mustard or BBQ sauce - all of those are non-fat. How about rice or wheat noodles with soy, garlic, ginger and oyster sauce and veg?

Don't know if you like it but Quorn is very low fat and I think it's very yummy - especially Quorn southern style burgers or the little nuggets or the crispy fillets.

You could make a nice chowder using skimmed milk, onion, potato, sweetcorn, stock, garlic and herbs like parsley and thyme, then thicken with cornflour?? Add prawns if you like too. How does that sound?

Also other alternatives to pasta, (I can find pasta quite boring) are: bulgur wheat, couscous, brown rice and quinoa. Quinoa particularly is incredibly good for you and it isn't expensive.

Hope I've given you a few ideas. ;)

Hi everyone, thanks I welcome to Caz

I've found a few alternatives as the other night I made a HM veggie pizza with a bit of low fat cottage cheese - worked pretty well, and completely not OS, but the uncle bens sweet & sour sauce is really low fat too!

    Anyway, today:

Breakfast - toast with low fat marg
Lunch - left over tuna pasta from yesterday
Snack - alpen bar & jelly snakes (oops!)
Dinner - OH is at the supermarket now, so not really sure...

Keep going everyone - remember a slip is just that unless you don't get up again!

Welcome Cazz. I've had this real urge to eat something tasty but high in calories but I resisted. Desperate for a loss this week, even if it is just a pound.
    Today I had:

    B. Muesli and semi-skimmed milk
    L. Noodles, peas, sweetcorn and tuna.
    S. Banana sandwich and apricots.
    D. Chicken, brown rice, carrots, sweetcorn and peas.
    S. Strawberries and cherry mullerlight yoghurt.

Exercise: Today was a lazy day. I did an hour on the stepper and 2 mile walk. Itching for the gym or a run.

    morning :D

welcome caz :hello: rachel, well done for resisiting, thats better than i am doing at present

weighed in and i am up 1lb this morning  i'm not suprised by this as ive felt really bloated for a few days, too many picky bits have crept in and i had an embarassing breadfest (every meal + toast for supper) yesterday.

oh well, keep trying. food not set in stone for today but have started with sugar free muesili and dinner will be something with sliced lamb steaks.

    have a good day
