    With BBQ weather upon us we got the Burger maker out at the weekend and now have some very healthy burgers all made with natural ingredients & most to be served with Salad & Beef Tomatoes:

    Lamb & Chilli
    Beef and Mushroom
    Pork and Apple
    Beef and Reggae Reggae Jerky Sauce
    Chicken Burgers
    Chicken & Pepper

    Beef & Mozzerella (Yes, not that healthy but delicious)

    We basically by a load of stuff that we like and just experiment.

    If you are having a go at them beware Mushrooms - dont add to much and chop finly as they add a lot of water to the burger and can make them collapse.

    What incentive is there for me to eat healthily when I get vile acid reflux after eating wholesome food?

    Today I had:

    Blueberries, yoghurt and 2 spoons muesli = reflux

    Cous cous with red onion and coriander = reflux

    Banana = reflux

    Yesterday I had:

    Wholemeal toast (dry) with marmalade = reflux

    Cous cous with red onion and coriander = reflux

    Apple (raw) = reflux

    I don't know what causes it but it doesn't seem to happen when I eat junk. I have spent most of today coughing because of the horrid burning and pain in my chest but I am reluctant to start taking Gaviscon as it becomes a vicious circle of me relying on it.

    Any ideas folks? My BMI is in the normal range (only just), I exercise and I drink plenty of water so I am at a loss :(

    Enough feeling sorry for myself, I have been good today and only had a skinny latte as an extra. Tonight is singapore chow mein so hopefully that won't make me ill as well!

    Sorry to ear this floyd. maybe its just one of those things? Have you seen your doctor? it could be hiatus hernia maybe? my frind is like this. Apparently sitting up and eating in small amounts helps, maybe finishing the meal with a drink of milk would help?

    Floyd....if this continues I think that you should have a check to see if you have aesophagitis or a gall bladder problem...I had reflux for years and discovered that if I stayed away as much as possible from dairy it helped, at the time I smoked too which didnt help, I also tend to eat very fast which is not good for the digestion....none of these things might help you and of course I am not a medically qualified person, but just consider a visit to the doctor if it doesn't go away soon.

    To-day I have eaten:

    B....Porridge with dried fruit;
    L....Huge pavlova, cream and strawberries, cappuccino with sugar;
    Sn...apricot;
    D....2 square inches steak (didn't fancy any more), 3 potatoes with butter, turnip and lots of greens, fried onion, pear with icecream, 3 ginger biscuits, tea.
    Sn...clementine.

    Hope you get your reflux sorted Floyd. I used to have it but it went just as quickly as it came - after about a couple of months though:mad:

    I havn't put my menus on last couple of days because they have been so awful. Mainly seems to consist of bread, ham and cheese - then some more bread. Just too hot to want to cook anything. OH has also informed me that as a "treat" for me he has booked us a week in Belgium:mad: Not really my favorite holiday destination and again the food there mainly consists of - you guessed it - bread, ham and cheese! I am going to end up the year weighing more than when I started it - I just can't seem to motivate myself and 80% of the time I don't even care:eek:, and the other 20% I am totally depressed about it.

    Sorry about the moan everyone - its the heat getting to me I guess. After the rain that is expected this weekend I should be back to my normal cheerful self!

    Love
    Marion

    Oh hugs Marion, you sound like you are suffering at the moment. I'm sure you will be back on the wagon and feeling good about it soon!

    B Yoghurt, plum, slice of bread
    L don't know at a friends hopefully some sort of pasta salad
    D out for dinner at another friends I think she said she was making healthy risotto!

    Not looking good for me today then, hopefully I will actually be able to eat some of the food offered today as I have developed a bad habit of not being able to eat and enjoy anything I can't calorie count! Great for the diet but not great for my sanity!
    Hope you all have a good, cooler day!

    Not posted for a while, but I am still here. Was feeling a bit more positive about my weight despite bingo wings! Jeans are feeling quite a lot looser, 1 size down, another looking on the way, just 3 to go. Had a hospital appt and Dr says you need to lose some weight - well actually I have lost 15 Kg! People who you have never met you before really ought to be more careful, for all he knows I could have lost 10 stone and be in better shape than I have been for 10 years. As it is I am slimmer than I have been for more than 5 years, but it made me feel down.

    Marion- you have done so well and have been dieting quite a while, I think? It is normal to get a bit disillusioned after a while. Would it help to maintain for a few weeks to give yourself a break, but still watch what you eat and weigh yourself, so that it doesn't go to gaining not maintaining! Congratulations on all the weight, think back to how you felt and how you feel now, you have amazing self control to lose 88 lbs. A biggest loser trick is to try and pick up something that weighs what you have lost, umm about 16 bags of 2.5kg potatoes!
