Ps I also wanted to say that I used my bike today and managed 13 miles in an hour  does that sound about right?
I was going at a steady 13mph on a mid setting but somehow I just can't quite believe it as I would of carried on but I ran out of time! Surely its got to be wrong, I'm unfit!!!

Hi Imataloss. I'm watching the biggest loser every day and they also use the palm for protein size. Good luck with it!
    Hi Zippychick
My sister watches it too. She told me about it after I posted on here.
She also said to use your closed fist size for carbs.
    Think I`ll try that too

pnq06 - you did the right thing throwing them out. I wouldn`t have been able to resist.
pnq & rachel- I think portion control is definately the way forward.
Just think how much money we`ll save if we don`t buy or cook to much. Also been thinking about the size of my dinner plates.
They`re huge. Will have to find a smaller one.

:o I was grabbing bigger handfuls each time I was diving in for "just the 1" Curses to chocolate :(

Thats a great idea if you think of the cutting down as not only in lb measures but also the big £££'s! Then what you save on food you can spend on new clothes when the lbs come off :T

Well done all, it seems like everyone is nice and positive today. As predicted I have had a fairly naughty day and probably exceeded my calories slightly but could have been much worse.
Is it wrong that I actually wish my trousers would fall down? (because I was too small for them obviously! I'm not that strange!)

    B Porridge
L Corn cakes and 1/2 pot of cottage cheese
D Chicken and mushroon kiev, pasta and veg (Wed is my busy night and have to rush home from work make a quick tea for the three of us and rush out again so had to resort to pre prepared kiev's, more calories than I would like but I do not have time to make three seperate meals)
S Pumpkin seeds and 1/2 of one of Twinks hob nobs! Naughty but I could have eaten about 10 of them so I think I did quite well!
Calories about 1500 but a bit too much fat and not enough fruit and veg today. Must do better tomorrow. No exercise yet as my knee hurts, unless running around like a headless chicken counts!!

Pnq & Imataloss, I am HOOKED on the biggest loser! Every day i have to wait until 630 before it comes up on the demand and it's such a good incentive! It's amazing how you grow to "know" the characters, and I can't wait to see how the weigh in goes on Friday! Just checked online, and there is an online club! I cry at it too, sad isn't it?! :rotfl::T:A

Regards the bike, um , I don't know? Just go with what you can achieve and try to build on it? Does anyone else have an exercise bike who could give advice? There is a website i just found from google which explains how you can measure your heart rate and tell more by that? Do keep us posted and keep up the good work! I cycle at around 10 miles an hour and I struggle with that.

    Today

B Half round HM toast with flora light. About a quarter of yesterdays
    smoothie left over
L 300g approx (half a carton) of tesco Minestrone soup (whoopsied)
S Apple, small amount mixed nuts/fruit, pear, 2 jelly sweets which i SAVOURED:o
D - HM Lentil soup (a mug), small amount of bread.

E - cycle 4 miles. 18 mins of cardio on pilates machine, and 45 mins of toning on machine tired-sleeping-smiley-17380.gif

Boy my muscles are going to hurt tomorrow!:j

Well done Taplady and apologies to anyone I have missed. Brain tired.

It was an Okish day today. I had:

    B. Bran flakes with 2 mini box of raisins
    L. Ham and cucumber sandwich. Bread was seeded.
    S. About 8 red grapes. Packet of mint and Yoghurt Shaper crisps (80 calories). 2 mini eggs.
    D. Small amount of chicken and eighth of Tesco's Meditterean quiche, cherry tomatoes, a spoonful of coleslaw and 2 spoonfuls of pesto and basil potato salad. Desert: slice of smartie cake.

Exercise: 4 mile walk, just over half a mile run, 1.5 hours on the stepper.

Beccam well said. I total agree with you.

Marie, I know exactly what you mean! I am serving myself smaller portions and leaving the rest on heat, so if I am still hungry and want more, it is there on the stove ready to go. Haven't went back for seconds yet as I keep getting the full signal anyway. Heating your plate in the oven may help a little.

Paul McKenna needs to design a keep warm plate!
