How did that weigh-in go Rachel?

Managed to curtail my comfort eating yesterday and got back on track. I must be the only person who puts on weight when they are ill lol. I so want to go out walking and get some fresh air and exercise but feel completely pole-axed. Colds seem to last forever these days!

On the plus side, DD gave me a lie-in today till 6:10 :D Will aim to get her to playgroup today - poor thing has been stuck indoors for days!

    Breakfast: fruitnfibre (300 cals)

    snack: banana (75)

Lunch: salad - going to put grated carrot into a cereal bowl, top with lettuce and spring onion and parmesan shavings, bit more lettuce, radish and halved cherry tomatoes and then a dollop of tuna and sweetcorn mayo and egg mayo (extra-lite) (400)

    snack: activia yoghurt (125)

Dinner: veggie sausages, egg, sw chips ( 600)

Just wanted to add to anyone who (like me) has occassional 'blow outs'......my way of looking at this all is that it is for life, this is not a 'diet' it is a change in my life that I will continue with forever and ever.
That means that I might not lose weight every week, I might gain some weeks but that is what 'normal' people do aswell...even skinny people have their weight go up and down by a pound or two on different weeks.
Skinny people also have 'blow outs' when they eat chinese and pizza, eat chocolate or sweets but it is in balance with the rest of their life, so long as there is balance then it is OK.
I cannot imagine my life without chocolate, sweets, takeaways or slap up meals....I just have to accept that I can't have them everyday!!

    My philosophy exactly :T

Still on the straight and narrow and feeling good about it. I think I get more of a boost knowing I haven't been eating garbage than I do from getting on the scales as my brain tells me I am slimmer even if the numbers don't match ;)

B: 50g natural muesli, plain yoghurt and a banana

L: Leftover scouse (last portion :D)

D: Prawn laksa and raw carrot and courgette ribbon salad with peanut dressing

S: Maybe a skinny latte if I have time

Have a fab day all, my car passed its MOT with no probs so good luck Tappy today :D

Nicely said Beccam, i need to keep thinking that to myself :)

Last day before my OH goes away for a week so I really must behave myself when he isn't here, want to be at least a pound lighter when he gets back.

    Today -
Breakfast - Apple, kiwi, pineapple and orange smoothie
Lunch - Feta cheese and hummous salad - made the hummous myself, really garlicky, wont be speaking to anyone all day!
Dinner - Buckwheat with lemon and herbs
    Snack - Banana

Didnt manage out on the bike yesterday, the weather couldnt make up it's mind what to do, but seems nice today so far so will try and do a few miles. Also managed half an hour of yoga and calisthenics on the Wii and half an hour aerobics yesterday, might try and repeat this today!

Speak to you all later :)

Good Morning Everyone, much nicer here today, rumour has it there will be no rain!!!
I have been eating well since my return from the excesses of New York. I think it does you good every once in a while to have a total blow out of the diet - I ate so much of "naughty foods" last week that I seem to have reached that point where I am quite happy to now stick with the diet plan - knowing that there will be another holiday coming up and I can have all the treats I want then!

    Today I am having:

B - scrambled egg with baked beans and bacon
s - fruit from the bowl
L - ham salad with pickled eggs
    s- scan bran cake
D - quorn pasta bake with brocolli and sweetcorn
s - berries with mullerlight and 0% Total

    Have a good one everybody!
    Love

    Morning all!

The weigh in went as expected - 1lb ON! Could be worse I suppose - I deserve more with what I've managed to scoff over the past two weeks.

Anyway, its spurred me on - yesterday the food went exactly to plan with only 5 syns ( a small choccie biccy in the evening).

    Today's food is...

B - cereal (Milk to dog) (B choice)
L - left over 5 bean chilli, banana (all free)
D - quorn enchiladas (B choice for the tortilla (I count this as bread), quorn is free, tomato sauce is free, cheese topping as a A choice)
    S - satsuma, grapes (free)

Exercise - walk the dog for about an hour

    Morning all
    I`ve lost 1lb this week.
Decided after a discussion with my GP this morning that the only way forward is to count calories and portion control.
He gave me an information sheet about obsesity and we discussed calorie counting and portion control. He suggested using the palm of my hand for the size of a portion of meat, fish and chicken.
I realised a few days ago that I`m still cooking for 4 when there are only 2 of us that usually eat together. DD has left home and DS cooks most of his own meals.
    Doe`s anyone else do this?

Hi Imataloss. I'm watching the biggest loser every day and they also use the palm for protein size. Good luck with it!

    Hi Sue,
I cook for a family of 4 even though there's only ever been two of us and a little dog. I blame my mum - I copied her shopping, cooking and cleaning habits and now they're mine!

    Evening All,

Well I got off to a bad start this morning- Went back for the huge jar (yes JAR  ) of mini eggs and felt sick so I threw them in the bin- There must of been well over a hundred left  Ah well, I would of kept dipping in otherwise...

Beccam very well said :T I guess when you look at it like that "it is life" iykwim?!?!

Never mind Rachel- Here's to next week

    Well done imataloss :T

I also struggle with portion control! I would rather cook more than less which then means that I don't want to waste what I have cooked :D So basically I now control the habit by cooking lots more veg over anything else and fill up that way.... Good luck!
