....just remember before you weigh and have a hizzy fit that anything over 8 lbs is SPLENDIFEROUS and that any loss at all is great....right???

Hmmmmm, well I wasn't 9st :o I was 16st 6lb. SO that's 8lb off. I know, I know I should be chuffed because "any loss is a loss blah, blah, blah,..." and last night I said to RS that I would be thrilled to be 16 1/2, but I'm not! I was lying! I thought I'd easily be 16st!!!

SO a cross Frog is hopping off to work this morning and sending a warning to all you 20somethings that loose a stone each time you empty your bowels ~ it doesn't last! Wait til you're 30something to loose your weight and it will be twice as difficult

    hop, hop, hop

Frogga you have made me snorty laugh with tea in my mouth- Not nice :D

8lb is great :T What's this about emptying your bowels and losing a stone each time? I must be doing something wrong cos I certainly don't :rotfl:

Well done Vixtress :T And good results Marion xx

Taplady see you next week :hello:

Its a normal day for me today (I feel guilty after slipping up and having a small milky way thingy as well as 2 skinny cow hot chocs :o )

    B: Musli
L: May have stuffed pepper with cous-cous
D: Broccoli, cauliflower, swede, spring greens, carrots, peas and a yorkshire pud (wish I could loose a stone from eating all that :rotfl: )

Hi guys, I'm thinking about getting a pedometer to try and monitor my activity levels throughout the day.

Does anyone here use one already? Any recommendations about what one to get?
I'm looking for one that is as cheap and reliable as possible!
I know you can get one from argos for a few pounds but not sure if it's any good. Does anyone have this one?

    Hi All,
Well done frogga - that's a good loss. Don't give it up now!!

Tappy, have a lovely week off.

Purple - I got mine from Lloyds pharmacy for about £4. It's ok but does seem to have a habit of falling off my belt somehow  I did get a free one but it's seriously inaccurate. Joanna Hall claims her ones are accurate to 1% which is apparently the most accurate... but her basic one starts at £15.

Anyway - yesterday involved rather too much toasted fruit loaf (fresh from the bakers).

    Food today:
b: potato farl, two veggie sausages and one poached egg.
l: beetroot soup and some fresh granary bread
    d: turkey curry and naan

snacks... slice of fruit loaf with marge :o, pear, cherries.
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

I'm not actually going anywhere unfortunately - just off work for a week!:j

no problems at the dentist :j- just waiting for the doc to ring me back now.
I've just been to Aldis and bought some of their cheap fruit and veg - lovely snacksize apples.
For lunch I've had a jacket spud, huge salad and half a tin of leftover tuna. Still deciding about dinner.

I have just started using one this week! Well yesterday actually. I had borrowed my daughters which was a cheapo one from Tesco but it only showed me as having had 600 steps:eek: Even I figured out this couldn't be right and I ordered one from Amazon - it is called OMRON Walking Style ll and it was around £15.00. It keeps track of your walking for 7 days and if you enter your weight it also tells you how many calories you have burned. Plus the time of course! It resets to zero at midnight. So far today I have done 3174 steps!:T

Some one on another thread said the best way to do it is to measure your average number of steps per day and then increase it by 1000 a day for a week, then another thousand the second week etc. till you get to the magic 10,000.

In the paper work that came with mine it states 10,000 steps a day for good health and 12 to 15,000 for weight loss:eek: I reckon if you do 15,000 you are far to tired to eat!:rotfl::rotfl:
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!

quick one as I'm off to work. Frogga 8lbs is fantastic!!! Well done vixen too and any other losers!!

After my angelic day on wed I had a bad day yesterday, not even bad in what I ate but just such bad habits!!
Yesterday....B~ nothing L~banana D~ 2 chicken mini fillet things and a few oven chips
    Snacks......about 10 alcoholic drinks! :o:eek::o

I did dance my butt off at girls aloud and sweated like a loony (actually sore today around the legs and butt area!) but think its so wrong when the days calorie intake has come from alcohol and not food!

Hoping to be better today, slept late so just had weetabix and banana now and then off to work soon, will try and avoid takeaways over the weekend.:o

Would be very interested to hear about Pedometers I have had about 3 in my time and they are all seriously inaccurate ( have tested them by counting steps walked and then looking after say 500) would like to know if ones you buy really are better, if so might invest some money in them rather than rely on freebies from Kellogs and some TV prog name escapes me.

My dieting is very off and on, have been on this thread before, but not for a while. I have lost 13 kg since aug 07, but nothing for 6 months seriously trying again. Retiredlady 111lb wow that is fantastic - that takes some determination, hoping some will rub off!

Wow, well done all, some great losses there!

Not doing so well today, nothing major just too many sugary snacks as its TOTM so I'm wondering whether to bother weighing at all tomorrow as I usually put on 3-4lb in water retention :(

B: Special K and skimmed milk

L: Ciabatta roll with a scrape of hoummus and 3 falafel

D: Not sure yet, I'm sure it will be fine as OH is cooking :)

S: 5 chocolate fingers and a few jelly beans

Hope I can keep it together, going to spend the weekend batch cooking and making chutney to keep my mind off cakes ;)
