Would you mind if I made one teeny tiny suggestion to your diet plan? If you suffer like me with a tummy bulge then you might want to try and cut down on bread- The calories in 1 slice alone are usually quite high and it basically bloats you as does large amounts of pasta and rice etc. I hope you don't mind me butting in :o Tell me to go and sit back in the corner if you like :D

    Hi Gunna!:hello:

I agree with pnq about the bread - its most peoples worst enemy when it comes to losing weight. One suggestion is to switch to a 400g loaf from an 800g loaf then you are only having half the amount of calories but the same amount of slices. I see you're having wholemeal bread which is good as its got more fibre than white:T

I've been out for a curry this evening with friends and have had a hugely fattening veggie Kurma with pilau rice, naan and poppadom:o:D it was fab!;)I thought I'd have what I wanted as I dont go out very often, back to it now though.
    Do what you love :happyhear

    Hi all,

Pretty good day, stuck to plan although not a particularly well balanced diet, think I need more veg

B: 2 wholemeal toast with HM seville marmalade (no butter)

L: Moroccan veg harira soup 1 small roll

D: Ciabatta roll, mozarella, green pesto, vine tomato, side salad and a bag of quavers

Nothing else, still full but might have a slice of toast later if I am still peckish

Hoping to get out on my bike again tomorrow, we shall see

Can I come round for dinner tomorrow? :D

Slice (large) of weetabix cake after dinner, there is lots of fruit in it but still feeling guilty! Need to keep down bread consumption, definitely doesn't help

May I join. I weighed myself last night and I weighed in at 14 stone 9lbs. Very disappointed as only lost 6lbs in two months despite joining the Debt-Free Wannabes running club and upping the exercise I do. I just discovered that the squash that I thought was of the diet variety has 60 calories a glass and I drink gallons of the stuff. So this week I'm going to give up the squash and the alcohol and see if that improves my weight loss.

Good Morning Everyone - I agree with the bread being my enemy thing, although I am trying to slowly introduce it back into my diet plan in very limited quantities because I know that at some time in the future I will be a normal sized person eating normal food (you know what I mean), and normal food consumption includes bread!:D

So hopefully I can train myself to have it in reasonable quantities and have other food as well and NOT live on peanut butter and jam sandwiches - which is what I used to do!:o:o

    Today I am having:

B - shredded wheat and milk
    s - peach
L - roasted peppers and onions with couscous on iceburg lettuce
s - scan bran cake with coffee
D - pork meatballs with pasta in sauce with a glass of red wine

    Have a good day everyone!

    Love

    Hiya

Thanks for the advice on bread but i was wondering what do i eat instead as it is basically my filler up lol.

I mean for brekkie i have either crumpets, muffins, toast, cereal or yoghurts. But lunch is usually a sandwhich or soup and bread as soup on it's own just doesn't fill me up :( OH suggested when he was losing weight he has one slice of bread with soup and then fruit or a yoghurt.......would the crispbreads be as bad as bread, or like ryvitas?
Only thing that worries me is if i don't fill up with bread then i might get hungry and start snacking on crisps or biccies :(

Crackers, pate and cheese spread are all quite high in salt so its best to keep them as an occasional snack rather than relying on them to stop you picking. You might end up thinner but your blood pressure won't thank you :)

Although it doesn't always work that way, I try to have bread once a day only and make it wholemeal medium sliced. Have you tried bulking out your soups with something chunky like chickpeas, rice, small pasta or broth mix? I find if I have a blended soup I am starving and hour later but if I eat a soup with bits in that need chewing I stay full. I also have a piece of fruit like an apple that needs effort to eat and a glass of water.

The weeks where I was most successful in controlling my hunger and losing weight into the bargain I would have porridge made with skimmed milk and a little honey for breakfast, lentil soup for lunch, apples as snacks then a proper lunch that could be anything from lasagne with salad to sausage casserole and mash. I can't eat bread at lunchtime or breakfast without falling asleep and feeling horribly empty all day so I try and choose slower release foods like oats and pulses if possible.

Today I am hoping for another good day, haven't slipped up at all this week so please let me lose at least a pound when I weight tomorrow!

B: 2 wholemeal toast with HM seville marmalade

L: Jacket potato with tuna, red onion and lime juice

D: Tofu chilli ramen, love this tuff as it makes my nose run and fills me up without me feeling bloated

S: Probably won't snack much today as I will be busy

Have a great day and weekend all, hoping to get out on my bike later and get some miles in :)
