  • ok weighed in this morning, not ready to publish weight but needless to say I'm at an all time high and need to lose weight for health reasons more than anything. My father had a cardiac arrest at 52 years of age (was amazingly resuscitated by the GP and paramedics and is still going strong at 69) and I don't want to follow him in this....

Meal plan for today will be 'odd' as we only got home last night from Xmas visiting and hubby is off shopping today but will fill in later when he gets back:

Brunch: Cooked breakfast, potato rosti, bacon, beans, egg and tomatoes
    Dinner: Burritos
Snacks: Fruit, 3 Quality Street (well it is Christmas ;))
    Grocery challenge:D

    morning all!

havent had chance to plan yet as I've had a much deserved lie in(worked 31 hours over the weekend) but so far I've had 2 small wholemeal toasts and marmalade.

Happy-Rags - you've got a good reason to lose weight! My husband and father both suffered heart attacks which is why I try and look after myself.
This afternoon I'm making an inventory of the cupboards and freezer to see how many meals I can make before shopping again.(Marion - I'll join you in the storecupboard challenge)

Weigh in tonight for me so I'll let you know how it went later.

    have a great day all

    take care x

    Hi all,

Had a shocking day yesterday, if it wasn't nailed down I rammed it in my gob! Cheese, christmas cake (MIL brought a chunk round after I took it there to remove temptation ), chocolate buttons, shortbread then I had a big sausage casserole dinner with trifle for pud :o

Hey ho, back on the wagon again today, most of the crud has gone now so less temptation and I think I will freeze the cheese to use in cooking at a later date.

B/L: 2 small wholemeal rolls with tuna and light mayo, bag of walkers french fries, HM salsa

D: Beef stew with braised red cabbage, white cabbage, carrots and peas

Hopefully no snacks required but it may take small steps to get me back to my previous life of virtue :D

Don't feel under any obligation to publish your weight until you are absolutely ready too.But also don't be afraid about it. When I started I was somewhere in excess of 440lbs or 31st 6lb. I say in excess because that's where my home scales maxed out.

But now, with support from other members and different ideas that I have picked up Im under 29st and well on my way. Everyone on here is great and Im sure you will do well. No-one judges and everyone supports. Im in a similar position where my grandfather died from a cardiac and my uncle has survived one. I want to do everything I can to eliminate risk so that I get to see my kids grow up.

Im looking forward to us both losing weight together.

  • Started my diet on Monday and my meals generally look like this.

    Breakfast

2 weetabix with hot milk and a sprinkle of splenda
    or
3/4 Ryvita with a scrapping of honey

    with fruit.

    Lunch

Quorn (I'm veggie) sandwich, stuffed full of salad leaves and sliced cherry toms, flavoured with lots of black pepper plus fruit

    or

Low cal soup with a roll with low fat cream cheese (tastier than low fat spread)

    Dinner

    Hearty soup or stew

Jacket potato with low fat cream cheese or beans

Small portion of pasta with large salad on the side

    Snacks

Pink and white wafers - only 50 cals a go and they are quite large

Lots of fruit but not too greedy on bananas.

Weighed again this morning and have still STS which is very welcome although I'm not sure how it happened.

B: 3 slices wholemeal toast with lemon curd (trying to curb the sweetie demons)

L/D: Going to a friends for NYE so we will have take away curry and trifle (but only half a portion of each as I can't drink after eating alot as I get sick :( )

Hopefully this is the start of normality again

    Best wishes for 2009 all

Here is my plan for the day:

Breakfast - fruit and yogurt with 5 scan brans (free, free and heb)

Lunch - home made bean & tomato soup - big bowl to fill me up (free)
Dinner - buffet and booze!! :D:eek::o (2 hea and about 60 syns)

I have planned in loads of syns for tonight, however the other 6 days of this week I am cutting the syns down to a minimum so hoping it will sort of even out by Monday weigh in. Happy New Year!:beer::beer::beer:
