  • Kadiya can you ask your consultant if there is any help from the nhs to pay for exercise/weightloss support? If money is tight, they do help with this sometimes. Also, can you go women only swimming? Great news about the treadmill.
    Taplady good news about DH.

I have weighed today and gained 4 pounds, this has got to stop!
I have 8 weeks to lose 26 pounds now!!!

I am very annoyed with myself!

    Morning all!
Hope everyone is feeling up for a good diet day ! If I say it then I have to at least try and feel it!

Had a bit of a shock yesterday, Manchester Uni have decided that they want to interview me for teacher training - all good but its NEXT FRIDAY!!! I also have an interview with Manchester Met Uni (the one I really want to go to) in 10 days time but I've had plenty of warning for that one. The new one is much more scary, lots of tests and tasks to do when I'm there so I'm going to treat it as a practice one for the second one, IYSWIM.

So the weekend should be spent with my head in GCSE science text books brushing up on stuff as even though I have a PhD in chemistry its been more than 10 years since I left uni! The joys of retraining in your late thirties!

Anyway, after the shock (which needed a curlywurly to get me through! all synned for though so OK) food was generally OK

    Today's food will be....

B - cereal (milk to dog) B choice
L - grapes, pineapple, strawberries, raspberries and a yoghurt (all free) and maybe a little sandwich if I'm still hungry (hoping not though as I want to save myself for tea and maybe a glass of wine this evening to relax after the cr*ppy week)
D - not sure yet but may be quorn burgers, beans and jacket (All free) OR chick pea dahl and rice (all free)

A big dog walk planned for after work too - maybe an hour or so to get some fresh air for him and me.

    Have a good day everyone....

Hi everyone - I've just been reading your thread and felt that this would be a good place for me!
My story is no doubt similar to many of yours..... I am 47 and still trying to lose weight after 25plus years!!! I have had some sucesses along the way, tried most things from 'normal' to bonkers - maybe I should introduce myself as
'hello - my name is lesley and I am a complementary therapy addict' lol!
I know that the only way to lose weight is the old fashioned way - eat less exercise more - if only it was that simple.
Looking forward to getting to know you all better - I think I recognise a couple of names from the lose weight thread anyway.
    Regards
    Lesley.
NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........

Good luck with the interview Rachel, must admit having done a science PhD myself there are times I have thought about re-training and teaching so good luck :)

Still trudging on, bit worried about weighing tomorrow as I really don't feel as if I have lost anything. I need a bit of encouragement so even a pound will do me ;)

B: Special K with skimmed milk and a skinny latte

    L: Leftover HM scouse

D: Not sure yet, OH is cooking so could be anything but he is well versed in how much I can eat so it will be fine.

S: Probably just a banana today as I won't be here late

Have a fab weekend all, hoping to go for a ride on my bike tomorrow if the rain stays off

Hi all, had a small break again but I'm back :p
Welcome to the new faces! :hello: And good luck for the interview Rachel!
I've started working on a new art portfolio, I used to do illustration at uni but had to give up due to illness :( Now I'm trying to start again and get back to uni but this means saving money and lots of painting and drawing, unfortunately this means i'm sitting around a lot so need to get more active somehow!

Anyway, back to posting food and as I haven't weighed myself for about a week I'll need to do that tomorrow, eep.

Breakfast: Peach yogurt, 1 slice WM toast.
Lunch: Leftover "fake" chicken nuggets from last night, bleh, with salad.
Dinner: Wholewheat pasta with vegetable sauce.

Off to tidy the house now...sadly I've been neglecting this too :P Hope everyone is having a good day!

    Hellooooooooo!
    :D
Grateful...I wish there was some help!but the only way I can get ANYTHING from the NHS with regards to weightloss, is to have diabetes:eek:
It's either that, or wait until baby is born and see what kind of diet pill they try to give me next  I don't do well on the pills, and the thing is, I know I can lose it on my own without and chemicals in my body:p
I've looked into swimming and the local pool has some early morning sessions I can go to if I want. The ladies session apparently get very busy,as do the aqua aerobics...I know that shouldn't put me off, because I am looking more pregnant now, but for some reason, I find women worse
I LOVE the smileys in this place!they're so cool!!!!
During today I havent eaten very much...Had an apple and raspberry breakfast bar for breakfast and a banana and toffee one for lunch. They are like sawdust, but I really wasn't that hungry, and figured something was better than nothing or going nuts on chocolate :A
I'm now sooooo hungry, waiting for my tea to cook!!!
Still got lots of salad to go through, so will be having a bag of it with my tea
    speak to you later
