  • Hello everyone - hope you have all had a lovely Easter Sunday! I feel extremely full up as I have eaten chocolate virtually non-stop all day and now I feel really sick (didn't stop me just having two rounds of egg mayonnaise sandwiches though:o) - I have been comfort eating all day because I was really hurt by DD1 - won't bore you all with the details but she upset me and I have been thinking about it all day and have had a non-stop urge to eat!

I was talking on the phone to Frogga before and was talking about the F-Plan diet (if you are under 40 you may not remember it!) but I was saying that following it in the 1980's really helped me and I lost and kept off weight for ages on it. Can anyone remember it and if so, do you have the details of how to make the fibre filler stuff you used to make up for a week at a time? I told Frogga about it (she's too young to remember it) and said I would let her have the recipe for the fibre filler but now I can't find my book and when I googled it I found all different things.

I am going to start back on the diet tomorrow - I was going to wait until Tuesday but given that I have eaten enough chocolate today to last me WEEKS I think some restraint is called for sooner rather than later.

Hope you are all having a nice evening.

    Hi everyone

Well after starting the week with such good intentions - I have ended it as a dismal failure. SO its start again tomorrow. My niece's wedding looms ever nearer and I am not going to fit in this dress, so I really need to get my act together. Choc egg has been eaten so no excuses tomorrow.

    I WILL have a better week!:D

Well yesterday turned out to be a complete disaster diet wise.
Was very good only eating free foods all day including during the trip to Chester Zoo but then went to the pub with OH to watch the football prior to going to Gourmet Burger and ended up swigging back quite a few pints of cider, then had the burger place meal (falafel and a few chips and a glass of wine), then went home at about 9ish.
BUT before bed I also managed 2 pieces of toast, a lump of cheese and a packet of crisp!!!
Damned booze! Always makes me binge.

The only plus side was about 3 and half hours walking during the day.:o

Today has been better - lots of fruit, beans on toast and 3 quorn sausages (no bread) at a mates BBQ. I also walked for 90 mins to pick up the abandoned car (due to impromptu drinks last night).
    No booze today!!!
I did have quite a few crisps at the barbie but have counted them as my only syns of the day.

Oh well, tomorrow's another day - meeting the inlaws to get the mens suits for the wedding organised and no doubt a spot of lunch - must be strong willed!

when I followed the GI diet it said you could have a little organic peanut butter as it's low GI - I know its highly fattening but it is yummy:drool::D

RS - You're not the only one to spend all weekend scoffing choccie - I did too:o I'm not giving away my Thorntons choccies - I will try and limit the amount I eat and eat healthily the rest of the time. Luckily I've got no SW this week due to work so have got an extra week to shift the excess chocolate pounds;) I've still got a flake egg to eat yet too:D

Food plans for today minus the chocolate rations are

    B - muesli and a crumpet

L - HM sweet spud and butternut squash soup with some WW danish bread

D - HM cheese and potato pie, beans and quorn burger

    I hope you're all having a great weekend x
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • Hi, guys. started day with a hot cross bun and beans on 2sl toast, oops!

if frogga is vegan then peanut butter is not a disaster for her, just a little and wholenut. Good for protein and vitamin E

Hoping I will stage a comeback later in the day!

  • Hello everyone - well, this morning I feel like I have a hangover, but I haven't had anything to drink - it's just a chocolate hangover but I feel really dodgy! Grateful - that isn't so bad a start to the day!

Rachelmk - glad you had a nice day at Chester Zoo - where is the gourmet Burger near Chester? Or did you go to the one in Liverpool one?

I had a trawl round the internet last night and finally found a site about the old F-Plan diet and I printed off the "recipe" for fibre filler, which Frogga and I had been talking about yesterday - and how spooky is this? I found it on a website called Mizfrog - it's a website set up by a frog mad woman who is on a diet and, even spookier her OH has the same name as Frogga's OH! We think it is a sign that it is going to work and Frogga is going to Sainsburys to buy the stuff to make it and so am I!

I anyone is interested Fibre filler is this stuff you make for breakfast and have each morning with skimmed milk. It is meant to keep you nice and full for the whole day:

    For one serving you need:
1/3 of a cup of Bran flakes
    3 tbs bran
    3tbs all-bran
2tbs flaked or toasted flaked almonds
    1 prune, chopped
    2 dried apricots, chopped
    1tbs raisins or sultanas

You just mix it up and eat it with skimmed or soya milk.

You can make it up for 8 days worth and then divide it into 8 portions, which I might do as it sounds like a bit of a faff for one portion and I have loads of those little lock & lock containers to put it in. Quantities for 8 servings are:
    2 2/3 cups bran flakes
    1 1/2 cups bran
    1 1/2 cups all bran
1 cup flaked or toasted flaked almonds
    8 prunes, chopped
    16 dried apricots chopped
    1/2 cup raisins or sultanas
1 cup is 8fl oz but you can just use a regular teacup (not mug)

I will try it for a week and see if it helps, but if it makes my IBS worse then I may not continue. The chocolate yesterday has irritated my bowel, but I knew that it would so why did I eat it all?

The weather is lovely here today, although it's still a bit cold, but sunny which is nice. Hope you all have a lovely day! - has anyone heard from Retired lady?

Jeez my 'arris hurts today! Did 4 miles around Delamere forest on my bike this morning and even though OH bought me a gel seat it still smarts :rotfl:

Yesterdays food wasn't great because we went to a friends place (the Italian ones) and they take offense if you don't eat. Plus everything tastes so great you want to try everything :D

    Yesterday
B: Boiled eggs and toast soldiers

    L: 3 Lindt choc truffles

D: 1st...Salad, proscuitto, olives, mozarella, crusty roll, roast veg
2nd..1 small slice roast lamb and 1 small slice roast gammon, 4 boiled
new potatoes, spoonful of aubergine parmigiana, carrots
3rd..3 slices cheddar cheese with water biscuits, olives and an espresso
4th..Small cream scone and a cup of tea

Today will be much more saintly as I went through so much pain riding my bike that I don't want to undo it!

B: 2 wholemeal toast (no butter) and HM blueberry jam

L: Ciabatta roll with tuna, red onion and salad

D: Sausage casserole, mashed sweet potato, red cabbage, carrots and peas

S: Hot cross bun and a scrape of butter

Have a great day all :T
