Ok, well slimming world works because although a lot of things are "free" these are the things with lower energy density and so chances are small of you taking in too much energy eating these foods.
It doesn't matter (for weightloss) whether you eat protein or carbs, since they have the same energy density (calories per gram)
It does matter for your health, though, which is why you are advised not to do all red days on sw(excess protein)
Meals rich in carbohydrates may make you feel sleepy, so less likely to exercise, but there's no other good reason why they are bad for you.
I don't understand the thing about your liver being heavy, but another thing you might do is look at the glycaemic index of the food you eat. I don't think that will help you lose weight, but it may help you avoid bingeing.
If you're doing sw, stick with it, but follow their advice about what to do when you are in a "plateau", like checking the foods you are using as free really are, not cheating when you count syns and measuring food that isn't free really carefully.
There's a new food fad every ten seconds, but basically, you need to get energy out to be bigger than energy in. Now the hard bit is to take my own advice or I wouldn't be here!
God bless and Happy Easter, Frogga xxxPlease do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

I've reread it and I think I get it now
Happy Easter to you too Grateful xx I don't have a God but it was still really nice to be blessed anyway
I'm gonna look at all the things I do eat and look for those hidden things that might not be helping like you said.Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Frogga STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALES!!!
Try not to worry about conflicting advice just keep doing what you're doing cos it works!
This will be a very difficult weekend with all the goodies about - DH bought home a cheesecake and fresh cream:eek: and we've got lots of choccies plus I was given a HM flan containing fruit and marzipan! I think I'll just try and have small amounts of what I want - I'll only be miserable if I have to watch the others tuck in then get back to it next week properly.
Hope you're all having a good weekend xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all.
Hope Froggas feeling better about the whole thing.
Yesterday was a strange diet day for me - I think I'm very premenstrual and for the first time since starting the SW thing I was hungry - although I don't think it was really hunger more like an urge to eat.
I had plenty of food, mostly free, but had to have a choccy biscuit and small packet of crisps too - it felt like I didn't have a choice, I HAD to have it!
I also fell asleep at 9.30pm on the sofa until 11 then went to bed and slept right through to 7 am - thats not like me at all! Any way I feel much better today and have been to take the dog for a walk (30mins) and will be going to Chester Zoo later (if the weather holds and OH ever gets out of bed!) so quite a bit of walking around there too.
Food today...
B - cereal (milk to dog)
L - plenty of fruit, maybe something a bit more substantial, BUT
D - a trip to Gourmet Burger Kitchen for tea after the zoo where I'm going to have one of the veggie options and maybe some chips:eek::eek:
I don't have an Easter egg this year so feel justified in the chip intake!
Have a good day.0 -
Morning Guys :j and what a lovely morning it is too,
Well I have decided to just keep going doing what I've been doing before, like Tappy saidI'll leave the scales alone until 1st May and if I'm still stuck on 17st then I'll know I'm doing something wrong.
I've been looking again at what I'm eating and I do think it's ok. I could start cutting out the hot x bun for example but I'm not going to. I have the wholemeal, low fat, low sugar ones. I think that if I start cutting out all nice things it will be the slippery slope to crash dieting. This time the differnce is I am still having nice things everyday, like the hot x bun for example, and if I start cutting them out it will make me crave them.
Since 1st Feb I have had 2 mini binges and both times they have been far smaller than in the past, and I have managed to get right back to it the next day with very little effort. I'm sure that is because I'm not depriving myself of nice things. When I have dieted before I have cut out ALL yummies completely. That has lead to my undoing, as I lost alot of weight very quickly, but REALLY craved nice things and then went mad when I had some. Eventually continuing to stuff until all the weight went back on. And some.
So, I'll up the exercise, and just carry on. I'm still 2 stone lighter than 1st Feb and if I keep going who knows what the scales will say on 1st Feb?
Have a good weekend peeps, and thanks again for all your comments. All joking and cheeky comments aside, I am gratefulSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Frogga - I think you are being very sensible:T and I agree with you totally about not cutting everything nice out, its a matter of keeping it all in proportion. I know there's no way I could live without the odd biscuit or slice of toast forever and as long as you can have a small portion of what you fancy without eating the whole packet then you've got it sussed as long as you eat healthily the majority of the time. Thats what i try to do and its worked for me so far. Good luck for being 'marvellous' in May;)Do what you love :happyhear0
