Hi all,
Welcome to the new folk and hugs to those who, like me, are struggling
I had a fairly good weekend with just one treat on Sunday night, I made peanut butter chip muffins and I can't stand giving things to people I haven't tested myself
B: Bran flakes with skimmed milk and half a banana
L: Lentil soup and 1 slice wholemeal breadUnfortunately its Chinese take-away (friend leaving so its her choice), anyone know what the best options are to avoid too many calories?
S: None, trying to go for damage limitation
I managed an hour out on my bike in Delamere forest at the weekend, didn't get that far (aout 5 miles) but alot of it was uphill so much harder work than the flat cycle I did on Thursday.
Still not lost any of the 4 lbs I put back on with my wobbly 6 weeks but I will persevere and put it down to muscle gain0 -

Ok - skip the egg fried rice - go for boiled if the option is there. Skip anything fried - eg sweet and sour pork balls etc, fried fish, that are battered and fried. Cashew nuts are also fairly high on the fat scale.
Chicken and prawn dishes are usually a better bet (but not sesame prawn toast as that's fried too I think) and I think chow mein is ok too.
And watch how many prawn crackers you munch
I'm soooo jealous..... I can't eat chinese any more as I'm allergic to sesame seeds and sesame oilworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Weight loss since January 2011 - 5st 5 lbs!!!!!0 -
Hello everyone - hope you are all okay! I weighed in this morning after much deliberation and was pleased to see a 6lb loss. I wasn't going to get weighed but last night I made a batch of Twinks hobnobs and ended up eating 4 of them! So I thought I would get weighed this morning to try and stop the rot. I need to go to Asda today and get some groceries and will get some of the muller lights which are on offer at 8 for £1.
Will check back later and read through the thread properly. Hope you all have a lovely day!Jane

Food today has been:
Breakfast 1 wholemeal oatcake (half HEB)
Lunch - hm curried chicken and rice salad - 5 syns
Snack - fresh fruit
Dinner - don't know yet but am thinking of making something using up yesterday's leg of lamb - might make a stew of some kind with barley added - I love lamb stew with barley, followed by a nullerlight.
Am just about to take DD2 and her little friend to McDonalds - not looking forward to it as all I will be having is a cup of tea:mad: but there is just nothing I can have and anyway I have already had my lunch! Keep your fingers crossed that I don't give in to a creme egg Mcflurry!
Welcome Shazba!Jane

Afternoon all,
Nothing seems to be moving in the right direction....have been the same weight now for well over a month, so in theory all I need to do is to up the exercise a bit or cut the portion sizes...theory is wonderful, reality seems to be my problem!
Since OH was ill last September he has a pudding most days....practically unheard of before then, so of course I, of little willpower, have some too. He has also become semi addicted to weetabix cake and has some at least once a day.....guess what, so do I! I had practically given up baking and now do nearly as much as I did in the days when the 3 boys ate everything in sight.
Today I had a BLT for breakfast and thin slice of bread with half a rasher on for a late morning snack....will count it for lunch and only havesome fruit and maybe a yogurt in the afternoon. Not yet decided what dinner will be, probably either sweet'n'sour chicken or corned beef hash, need to use stuff up from freezer so maybe chicken.
congratulations to all who are losing weight and commiserations to all who are struggling

Never mind Marie - it'll all fall back into place again soon.
My day yesterday was OK - stuck to the food plan although the pesto I had for tea (from Aldi) was very oily and not very nice - helped I suppose with the diet as I didn't eat much of it!
Today is WI day (after work) so a bit nervous - I weighed on my scales this morning (as I do every week) and it said 1 lb off but I don't trust my scales and will wait to see what the SW ones say later.
Today's food is...
B - cereal (milk to dog)
L - quorn ham, salad, boiled egg, grapes and banana
D - not sure yet, maybe jacket spud, beans and cheese after WI
S - satsumas, maybe a little treat if WI goes well!
Good luck to everyone else0 -
Hi all,
Was fairly good yesterday and other than my planned meals only sneaked two squares of chocolate in the evening - just seem to need to finish on something sweet
Also managed a 3 mile walk in my lunch hour yesterday (6,000 steps) and so planning similar today - but will be walking back with shopping bags as need eggs and flour.
rachelmk - I like the aldi red pesto - really nice if you cut a slot in a chicken breast, put a teaspoon of it in there and then wrap in bacon and bake
Food today:
b: potato farl with 2 poached eggs.
l: salad - made with tinned pots, tinned salmon, sun dried toms, sweetcorn and a bit of mayo - on a bed of lettuce.
d: chicken breasts (possibly cooked in bacon with pesto - or else with peppers and cumin and served in wraps) depending on my mood.
Snacks today are:
A pear, some fruit salad (out of date tin the cupboard that needs using, along with extra tinned pineapple and some frozen raspberries bunged in for good measure - might have some with low fat icecream after dinner too).
Really need to up my fruit intake - eat lots of veg but not much fruitworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Morning!

Rachel - good luck with your weigh in!
Marion - how did your weigh in go yesterday?
frogga - :hello:
my weigh in is tomorrow - have had a better week but the scales say the same:rolleyes:
Food today will hopefully be
B - toast and reduced sugar marmalade
L - jacket spud and beans
D - M & S caramelised onion and mushroom things from the freezer with veggies(need using up before I go shopping - probably not low fat but am not wasting them)
snacks - banana, strawberries, kiwifruit and yoghurt. plus if necessary a ryvita goodness bar.
good luck all xDo what you love :happyhear0
