    Hi Guys,

I'm feeling a bit funny  ~ my boss told me this afternoon that she could tell I'd lost weight. She said she could see it on my face and that my trousers were not so tight on my legs. It was said with the best of intentions because she is lovely, and we've chatted about it all (she knows I have issues  ) but I feel really upset.

When someone says something complementary about how I look when I'm thinner it just makes me think "oh right you thought I looked auful before then" :o and I feel SO embarrassed and ashamed. She made a point of saying my trousers didn't look so tight , so all I keep thinking now is that everyone must have thought how tight they looked before and how fat my legs were. Which is true because they were.

I was thinking of going to M&S at the weekend and buying a new pair of trousers in a size 16 because I'm sure they would fit now (the 18's are too loose). I know they will be a bit 'snug' for a few weeks til I loose some more and so now I'm not sure that I want to. That's the problem with bloody eating dissorders ~ everyone can see and nothing is private!

I guess it's just tough poo as there is nothing AT ALL I can do about it so I really should just stop moaning and hop off shouldn't I?...........................

This is surely the place to moan if there is one. I think your boss was being nice, if a little clumsy. Don't you think it's better if people are honest with us, gently? I know I got here partly by people being sycophantic "no your bum doesn't look big, honest" which is why I have 4 stone to lose and not 2, well if I'm honest, 5 and a half!!!

Chin up frogga, bet you're a gorgeous green froggy now, and you will be even more gorgeous come the summer Ribbit!

    evening!

just got back form work and thought I'd pop on to see how you're all doing.

My SW weigh in is at night in my clothes so when I weigh in the morning at home in just my pants I'm actually lighter than my official weight!:j :D

Frogga - I'm sure your boss didn't mean to upset you - its great when people notice you've lost weight, it always gives me a boost. Try not to be so sensitive just accept the compliment as it was intended and go and get those size 16s!(thats an order;) )

Off to work early tomorrow so will post in the evening

    Take care all x

  • Good morning

Last 3 days haven't been too bad except I have helped myself liberally to the boiled sweets from the office jar. Lent intentions didn't last. When I think I can't have somehting I want it desperately. Cereal for bfast, dinner today not planned yet as I have to go shopping. May involve spag bol.

Frogga your boss complimented you becasue she could see a result of all your efforts. She wasn't commenting on the "before" picture just what she could see. Go buy your new trousers.
Collegues at work have been complimenting me on how I look, asking if I have been dieting, I say yes thank you. I don't tell them I have sts for almost a year, something has changed so I take the compliment for that.
Positive thoughts to everyone who is trying to make a difference.

Morning everyone. Just a quick update this week, 3lbs off. Been to see the GP a few days back about looking into an apronectomy (tummy tuck) as I have a lot of hideous loose skin on my tummy which is causing me problems. The NHS requirements here are that you maintain a healthy BMI for 2 years but I'm hoping that the problems it's causing and my other health conditions will count as an exceptional case and be able to get it done sooner. Fingers crossed! Without this horrid skin I'd prob be a top end size 10 by now :(

    Morning all.

Frogga - what she meant to say was - you've already lost so much weight that your trousers are nearly falling off you and you need to go and buy a new pair ;) (I think you'd be miffed if no-one noticed any change in your weight too :))

Hope everyone is ok. Cherry pie is still in tact in the freezer (but only coz it takes 45 mins to cook!!) but the pack of biscuits is another matter... :o

  • Everyone's doing really well. I haven't had a bad week but my scales tell me that I've gained 4lb!!!!! How???? It may be water retention, I don't have periods but mine used to be about this time every month. Mind you I haven't changed the battery in those scales forever! I'm not giving up though, I just won't. Have a good day everyone.
It's up to me now and nobody else.

It could very well be water retention, even if you don't have periods anymore you still will have a monthly cycle. Be good and you should have a great loss next week!

    Afternoon Peeps,

I've stopped sulking now :D Sorry for the tadpole~like behaviour but you know me ;)

Well, I made it through 8 whole weeks without a single binge ~ not even a little one  So, I'm hopping on the scales in the morning so I can tell Eamon Holmes how much I've lost on The Feel Good Factor tomorrow night. If you watch it you might see me in the audience (I'll be the amphibian looking gorgeous :D ). Wish me luck :A
