Hi all, going to be away for a few days from tomorrow as my grandad sadly passed away last night. He's been suffering from Parkinsons disease for a number of years and was essentially bed-ridden, he's had trouble with complications and illnesses a lot over the past year so at least he isn't suffering anymore
The thing that breaks my heart is that I was due to go back to Scotland tomorrow anyway from here in the midlands, and on friday he kept asking when I was coming home and when I would go to see him
I'll see you all when I get back and I'll try to resist bingeing and eating rubbish, which will be much easier said than done.
Hope everyone is well xxReal stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time0 -

Lol, you are dead right. Baby is keeping me awake, and I didn't even get a mother's day lie-in! When you are up at 5.30/6am every day it makes for a very long morning and I know I would eat less if I was able to stay in bed more.
Doesn't help that my hot water has broken down and i can't afford to get it fixed, so I do feel somewhat mingin after weeks without a bath. But this morning spent an hour boiling kettles and pans and had a good long soak, so feel much better now.
And have a bit more determination to look after myself after the smoking binge. Truly felt on the verge of a heart attack last night! :eek:2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
Wyrdsister so sorry about your grandad, look after yourself X
Tappy hope DH is better soon
I need a rant today, been trying for so long to find time to exercise and thought today would be ideal so I got my gear on and picked up my Davina DVD then it all started to go wrong.
1) Xbox wouldn't recognise any DVD's so spent ages fiddling with remotes trying to get it working. No cigar
2) Root around back of TV to unplug XBox and plug in DVD player which comes on but remote wont work
3) Go into cupboard to get new batteries to find OH has rammed something into cupboard which knocked the dishwasher rinse aid into the box containing batteries, bulbs and fuses and emptied entire contents into box :mad:. 45 batteries are ruined and corroded, some were special order for my laser pointer for work.
Just spent an hour cleaning the cupboard and washing everything, still in my gym kit no longer in the mood to exercise even if I did have the right batteries for the remote.
Went to get breakfast and there is no bread or cereal :mad:
and BR--EEAAA--THH---EEE Rant over
B/L: Warm bake at home ciabatta with thinly sliced wensleydale cheese and HM chutneyNo idea, something with veg I guess. Plenty in the freezer but not in the mood to look as I am still p***ed off at OH :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

He has partially redeemed himself by popping home from work in his break and dropping off a battery for the remote
Unfortunately now I have eaten I will have to wait a few hours but at least I can do it now :T just doing housework jobs like cleaning the cooker and washing floor cloths.
Have a good day all0 -
Hello everyone
Wyrdsister - so sorry to hear about your Grandad - safe journey back up to Scotland.
Taplady - glad OH is home and recovering. Well done on just eating one packet of malteasers - I would have defo gone to the drive through McDonalds with that sort of stress.
JoJo - so sorry that you have having a hard time with the baby's sleeping - DD2 didn't sleep more than a couple of hours at a time until she was 4 and I can remember the awful grinding tiredness. It is hard but eating well when you are tired really does make you feel so much better - well done for getting back on the wagon.
Floyd - what a nightmare! I would have gone mad! at least OH brought you some batteries for the remote......
DD2 brought me breakfast in bed this morning - a lovely cup of tea and a bowl of all bran mixed with mullerlight and a banana - she had even weighed out the all bran!
Lunch is in the oven - jacket potato with tuna and some Sainsburys BGTY egg mayo (free food unbelievably!) with cherry tomatoes.
I am planning to do a roast dinner tonight - chicken or lamb with brocolli and cauliflower, mashed carrot and parsnips, new potatoes, green beans and low syn stuffing balls - kids will have Roast potatoes but I won't. I got profiteroles in M&S yesterday for kids and I will have some of marion's breakfast rice which I have chilling in the fridge - I have used a vanilla mullerlight and added finely chopped apple and cinnamon.
Hope you are all having a good SundayJane

Had the usual Mothering Sunday breakfast, delivered to me in bed by OH....large fry with fried bread...have been drinking water ever since as bacon was salty.
Dinner will be roast beef, braised fennel, turnip and baked potatoes, apple sponge and ice-cream to follow...provided nobody buys me chocolates I will be happy enough with that menu for to-day.
Have a good day all

thats really sweet, my ds (6) brought me breakfast in bed. a bowl of dorset cereal and strawberries poured out by OH. it was literally 4 times as much as i usually have!! ate 1/2 of it and physically couldnt eat any more. he then sent up toast and cream cheese which thankfully ds ate.
eating has been a bit odd today with it being mothers day, have turned down buttered scones, cookies and swiss roll at a friends house but have found myself picking at a joint of pork while the rest of dinner is cooking
today has been/will be:
a bucket ful of hi-fibre cereal
salad sandwich, bag of crisps and a muller light
roast pork, veggies, mash and yorkies
there has been a bit too much picking going on too
happy mothers day to all the mums out there x- prior planning prevents poor performance!

Well I managed to get the DVD going and did 20 mins of the most boring workout ever then the DVD player froze and wouldn't restart so I took that as the final indication that I really wasn't meant to do it
OH has also completely redeemed himself as he confessed he has been saving up in secret to buy me a bikebless him
I managed to avoid eating junk even though I was narked at things going wrong but I actually haven't sat down all day. Made soup and mash for the freezer and some clementine marmalade using the pap in the fruitbowl then re-boiled some failed blueberry jam from last weekend, hope it sets this time! Just put the fish pie in the oven for tea so I am having a 5 minute sit down before OH gets in from work.
Got some bargain blackberries reduced in Tesco so might have those in porridge tomorrow or make a crumble for later in the week.0
