    Evening folks:hello:
Yesterday was pretty good, I stuck to plan and didn't go mad with the booze or scoff too much on my night out

Today has been a different matter..... I've had a visit from the bread monster today:eek: toast at brekkie, bread with soup for lunch, egg on toast for tea and a couple of slices in between:eek: all with butter on!

I went to MrA's this morning for a few bits and tried on some jeans in my usual size, they were quite loose but I knew a size smaller would be too tight. I was really chuffed so why do I come home and eat the bread bin???????

I've given myself a stern talking too whilst stood in front of the mirror looking at ther roll(s) of blubber hanging over my jeans:o The daft thing is, with the dancing I'm doing my legs are noticibly shaping up.....shame about the rest of me!!!!

So back on track tomorrow, hopefully not having done too much damage before Monday's WI!!

    See you tomorrow folks :A

Welcome to the new faces!! :T Audrey Hepburn - I'm veggie as well:D

    Hi

I am thinking of joining in too! Have been lurking for a while.:o

What day is the best to weigh in would you say? And do you weigh in weekly, fortnightly or monthly?

I am thinking Monday is good as it is the start of the week, but I know I do drink more wine over the weekend!

not a bad day today, could have been much worse.
    had toast for breakfast.
a asparagus, rocket, boiled egg and parmasan toasted sandwich for lunch :D and after 3 hours in a&e with ds had 2 eggs on wm toast, 1 twinks hob nob and a large gin and slimline tonic :o
this could have been much worse, it was after 9pm and i was starving. this could have been an 'empty the fridge' moment but i resisted. i also turned down treacle tart at lunch time :D
hope youve all had a good day!

  • What I scoffed yesterday

    breakfast-Yogurt and rhubarb

    2 finger kitkat (curse them)

lunch -half a smoked mackerel fillet, loads of roast broccoli (roasted in olive oil, garlic and tossed with parmesan-so not as virtuous as it sounds-yummy though)
    grapes

1 finger of kitkat -they're all gone now phew!

Tea -Roast pork and crackling, loads of carrots and peas, gravy

    half a bottle of Shiraz

a few chunks of cold roast pork -the dark, sticky really well done bits-yummmy :o

Unfortunately I bought a side of pork on Thursday so my freezer is full of pork. Not the leanest of meats. I'm expecting it to last months though and hopefully I can balance porky days with lots of veg and less carbs.
  • Many ,many thanks for all the warm greetings!

Posting can be daunting for newbies as the board police sometimes swoop like traffic wardens because you have parked your post in the wrong place and infringed a rule.:o

Can I ask how other veggies/vegans deal with meat eating partners and how do you all deal with non-dieting partners/family members?

My husband has a George Foreman grill,so he cooks whaterver he wants on it and keeps my grill/pans uncontaminated - bless him.

He says he'll eats whatever I am having for dinner with his meat as usual, just add some more spuds/pasta to his.

Frogga - may I come to you for advice please when I run out of ideas?

OK - all went well yesterday, I mixed the soya mince with onion and mushrooms, wrapped it in savoy cabbage leaves and baked it - very nice!

Soya milk is nice- better with oats than in hot drinks though.

    Today's plan is:

    Breakfast oats & soya milk

    Soya yoghurt & apple

Lunch wholemeal bread with homemade chilli chutney and smoked tofu

    Fruit

Soya mince with rice, beans and veg.

I will start posting at the end of the day now to report if I stuck to it.

    Best wishes to all.

    morning all :D
have started the day ok with my usual toast.

i am hoping to make another big bowl of gingery fruit salad today, the last one went down very well (especially with banna custard flavour muller lights)
think i will nip up to aldi for some of there mega bargin fruit and veg, i usually go to the farm shop but its too far if im not already in the area.

not sure about lunch but dinner will be spag bol (with added red lentils ;) )

i could do with trying to do some batch cooking for the rest of the weekbut with yesterdays traumas i forgot to get stuff out of the freezer

    whats everyone else up to?

  • Hello everyone and welcome newbies! I had a bit of traumatic day yesterday much like Vixtress (hope ds is okay now BTW). I went to A&E at 8.30 am with DD1 - she's 18 and suddenly lost loads of blood from her back passage which terrified her and me! The out of hours GP sent us straight to A&E and we went and they said they couldn't find anything on examination and told us to go to the GP on Monday for referral to a gastroenterologist. We got home at about 2 and had only been home for about half an hour when the doctor from A&E rang up and said we had to go back there immediately because there was a problem with one of DD's blood results. We went back up in a panic and they kept us waiting 3 hours:mad: in the triage area before telling us that they thought it was a lab error and to proceed as planned and go to the GP on monday! She is still not well today and has loads more blood and I am really worried about her, particularly as the doctor said that he couldn't see any piles... Anyway as a result of this yesterday's eating was rubbish. We were all those hours in the hospital and so I had only a bag of crisps and some M&M's from the vending machine, so when we got in at 6 ish I ate all kinds of stuff which I shouldn't.:o So today I am back on the wagon and have had two pieces of wholemeal bread with some grilled low fat bacon and tomatoes on for breakfast. I have got a cooked chicken in the fridge, together with some brocolli bake from Friday and I have lots of veg and fruit so I will cobble something together with that lot. Although I ate rubbish last night I still feel quite positive about my diet and don't feel like carrying on eating carp today, even though I am really worried about DD1 - that is progress of sorts because worrying usually makes me eat for Britain!

I am thinking of making Marion's rice pudding thingie today - I only have Mullerlight vanilla choc chip yoghurts in - do you think they would go alright with the rice, or am I better to wait until I get some fruity ones? I don't want to waste another pudding after the quinoa disaster the other night!

Anyway hope you are all having a good Sunday - the weather here is lovely and bright and not too cold today, which always makes things seem more cheery!
