    Welcome Snuggles

Well done Frogga:T :T :T Can you pass some tips my way please??

What's working for me at the moment is having an RS :A I would seriously recomend her. When I want to be talked out of it I txt her, or phone and she talks me out of it. I say want because sometimes I avoid calling because I don't want to be talked out of it. Daft I know :o Buddying up with someone and swapping mobile numbers so u can make an 'emergency txt' is a good idea. Also, I'm finding myself being good for RS. I don't want to let her down. If I can do it anyone can so I want to be able to say 'I did it!'

Welcome snuggle - I bow to your fantastic weightloss!

Have a tricky weekend coming up. An old friend is visiting and much wine will be drunk. I have things in for her that I never normally have around because I'll devour them in 5 mins ie loaf of bread and croissants and cereal. I've already opened the cereal and had a bowl because it's unbelievably scrummy and low GI so not too much guilt (Linzi's treacle and pecan granola). Now to avoid having syrup sandwiches. :o:D

Managed to plan a healthyish menu if not totally weightloss oriented. Got skinny cow icecreams and melon and grapes for puddings so that's not too bad. It's just the alcohol that's not too good - but I have turned down several opportunities to drink this week so I am just going to enjoy the weekend.

Done loads and loads of housework today so hopefully burnt off some calories.

    Eaten:

    Breakfast: granola, banana (350 cals)

Lunch: 2 food doctor multigrain pitta breads with hummus (450)

    snack: banana

For dinner we'll have hm tuna and sweetcorn pizza with salad (700)

    and wine (zillionsssssss)

Marion don't fret the socialising, it can be such a morale booster.
meanmarie I love pomegranates too, very fiddly but a great snack, takes ages to eat next to nothing.
Vixtress well done on the 1lb loss.
RS Re the pedometer - I have decided to aim to do 5000 steps a day but I often have days when I struggle to make 1500. I therefore keep the total going for the week and try to do an average of 5K so giving myself an incentive to do more on other days.
Frogga think I need a buddy like you.

Bfast : 3 pinapple rings. Cereal
Lunch - leaving do at work so pakoras and samosas and crisps cue and tom salad, followed by cake and latte.
Dinner not sure, either chilli or chick pea curry.
I got up at 7am and went out walking to up my overall steps total. Am now on 20K but as its Friday should be up to 25K so will be going out shortly. Sat is always a miserable day for me so trying to plan a treat, I fancy going round a Nat Trust place, we have membership but rarely go which makes me very:mad: Weather is supposed to be nice this weekend, have a good one all.

    quote]

Do you mean you need a buddy like the one I've got, or you need a buddy like what I am?

If you're trying to poach RS then hands off matey  I'm more than enough for her to have to cope with and I aint sharing (I have to share her time with her kids and that's bad enough!)

If you mean you think I would make a good buddy then obviously you are correct my friend, I am an excellent buddy of course, who would expect anything less from such a talented frog? However, I'm soon to be very famous you know and I wont have time for such things. Sorry to dissapoint ~ I could send you a signed photo if that would ease the pain?

Ooooo the trials of having so many fans..................

  • Well I've been eyeing this thread over the last few weeks and thinking 'I really must join in'. I've been trying to keep a food diary but I forget, maybe recording my food here will be easier.

I have 4 stone to lose and I would like to lose 2 stone by July 18th when we go on holiday to France- this just seems like a convenient goal date;)

    Well today goes like this;

Breakfast -hm yogurt and rhubarb compote

2 finger kitkat (half price at Waitrose and we never have bought biscuits:o )

Lunch -Jerusalem artichoke soup plus the end of a loaf (one of my problems is waste, I hate throwing away food, especially when I've made it but no-one else wanted the crust)
    grapes and clementine

Tea will be -about a quarter of a large baked mackerel, spiced basmati rice, broad bean, soya bean, pea and feta salad (frozen peas and beans, a little diced feta, slivered sun-dried toms, red onion, lemon vinaigrette, za'atar)

Evening -half a bottle of merlot;)

Hi Thrifty, haven't seen you for ages, welcome welcome :j

JoJo was asking for some tips on getting motivated again and I wondered about Lent. It's shrove Tuesday next week and although as you all know I am a committed athiest there is no reason not to join in. I'm sure the real Chrisians wont mind me hyjacking their religeon for my own benifit :D

So, what you all giving up? I thought about giving up meat , but then as I have been a vegetarian since I was 5 that felt a bit like cheating  SO think I'll give up sugar alltogether. I can still have me weekly treat cos I'll have a bag of nuts instead.

    What dya think Thrifty?

Thriftlady - welcome to the thread! - I read your posts on the daily and you always have such interesting, tasty sounding HM grub!

    Do what you love :happyhear

Hiya Frogga -you make me laugh:D I'm not religious either but I think lent provides a great opportunity to give something up. I should really give up alcohol, but you know what? - I don't want to! Giving up snacking seems a bit more doable and I'm sure it would make quite a dent in my weight.

Actually the trend amongst Christians these days is not to give up something that will benefit themselves like chocolate, but to take up something that will benefit others.

Also when you are observing lent you get all the Sundays off (I think) which makes the whole prospect a lot less daunting lol.

Really enjoyed my tea-not much fish or rice but loads of the beany salad. Feel absolutely stuffed now and virtuous -surely must have eaten my 5 a day.
  • Hello everyone - welcome Thriftlady and snuggle - snuggle that is an awesome weight loss - how did you do it? Did you go to a slimming class or have weight loss surgery? Sorry to be nosey but I have that much to lose (and a bit more:o ) and I am always interested in how some people manage to do it and others (like me) seem to never be able to manage it.

I had a great day until about an hour ago when I had two finger rolls with chicken and coleslaw in them. Again, like last night it isn't a belly busting binge but it is more than I needed and I do so want to stick to this.

    So food today has been:

Breakfast - porridge with skimmed milk and sweetner
Lunch - hm tomato veg and pasta soup with bit of parmesan and few croutons, apple
snack - piece of cheese and some melon
Dinner - hm veg and pork chilli with jacket potato and salad, pack of mini jammie dodgers and cup of tea
Snack - a fig roll biscuit
cheat - two finger rolls with chicken and coleslaw:mad:

Anyway I am still not bingeing which is a step forward I think...

On the lent thing - my convent education always taught us that we had to give up something that we really liked so that we would feel the pain of deprivation - I used to give up sweets at lent and we never got Sundays off either! This year I will give up sugar I think.

well I sts yesterday - which I'll take - so my challenge ended with 4 or 5 of the 7 off, which was better than nothing or it all going on. Yesterday I took hm cake into work (tried a brownie recipe omg :EasterBun ) several pieces tried to escape and had to be tamed, also made a hm jammy dodger, which the guys in my office really liked. Anyway must stop talking about cake! Off out today for lunch and a meal out tonight and a meal out tomorrow (it's my birthday today and it was my mum's yesterday!). So a line will be drawn after the weekend and I will then decide on my target for March!
