Erm.. I didn't yesterday - kinda thought with second class post and everything, I'd give them til today's post - so I did and nothing.. and boy am I glad I called them......
the lovely guy said to me "Are you a British Citizen?"... Me; "Er... yes ..." Him; "well their asking for a residency test... have you lived here for xxx amount of years... were you born here?"...
It appears me taking that week to my dad's when first redundant is costing me now!! That or anything to delay it... I'm flippin  - if I was from another country I'd probably be getting benefit from the minute go - plus a free house and a free car.... and food tokens...:mad::mad::mad:
Anyway the guy was really nice and is referring this straight to a supervisor... but imagined if I had waited for the letter again - which would probably be in another week due to second class mail....
Anyway onto more positive stuff .... couple of things in the pipeline - not saying too much for fear of jinxing it... (haven't even told the b/f) ... am not giving up - the quicker I get I get a job the quicker all this can be done with!!!!
Haggled on my home insurance and got that down - the renewal was extortionate... and they had all the wrong details about my house (in terms of no locks on windows and stuff) - so am glad I've dealt with that...
Not much else to report - busy weekend ahead though!!
Well I hope everybody is well and a good weekend for everyone??

Glad you have some things in the pipeline! Hope you get JSA sorted soon. My JSA got paid no problem - but I am still waiting for interview expenses. Apparently they are still working thro March's claims! They are working overtime this weekend to try and make a dent in them....

Hello my DFW buddies!!!
Apologies for the delay in posting - kinda been hoping I'd have some job news - and its still a possibility but in my usual way of not wanting to tempt fate - I don't want to say any more right now!!
Did venture out at the weekend. Got dragged.... (and I mean dragged out) with my friend - she has been talking to people we went to school with via FB and arranged a meet up (FB has a lot to answer for!!). When I first said yes to going (a few months ago) I thought I'd be able to drop out as there would be a few going and I really didn't hang around with them for the last 2 years of school....
Unfortunately there was in the end only 4 of us, and being the other two were quite close - my best friend begged me to go along. It was ok and I barely spent any money which was the main thing.
BF and I had wedding on the sunday - which was nice. I drove as had interview on the monday and really didn't feel like drinking. It was his work friends wedding so we stayed a while but not too late.
Spoke to Jobseekers yesterday - they rang me as promised (I know...) it's all now going through and there should be a payment in my account in the next few days... fingers crossed.....
Retro - think you are completely right - they were just trying it... makes you wonder what on earth they were thinking!!!!
Right I have things to do - really can't sit on here all day - even though its tempting- am off to pop into others diaries... hopefully be back later or tomorrow with news!!

Thanks Savingholmes.... nothing yet - but I guess no news is good news... woken up with a bit of a headache today ... not too sure why!!
Got some job seekers money through into my bank today - bit mystified about the amount but until I get the letter and understand exactly what they're giving me - I'm not going to call them. Its easier when you have the paperwork in front of you!!
Rags - tell me about it - I could hear the embarrassment in the poor guy's voice on the phone line - I think even he was thinking "OMG"... thank you for good luck wishes - really not saying much to anyone.... Thank you for the well done
Had a good catch up with a friend last night which helped pick me up a bit!
BF update is that things are on the up - he has been asking to see me, but it frustrates me he leaves things til the last minute... have decided to nickname him lastminute dot com...I do like him a lot though and sometimes wonder if that's part of it- I'm starting to realise just how much I like him, so its easier to think the worst and push him away rather than admit to him how I feel.... good old self defence mechanism....
Right off to others diaries - then for a shower and go food shopping... catch ya laters xLBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never

Hi Nats
Head's ok thank you - it has gone off with no tablets or anything
Nats - I do agree its a man thing, but I think its more irritating as we don't have much time together. I've PM'd you as its a bit personal!!
Two letters from Job seekers about the amount, one paying an incorrect amount from 28 april - 11 May (which I received in the bank today), the next with a larger correct amount which is now on HOLD!!! as they can't pay me as they think made an overpayment (more like a !!!!!!! underpayment)... and may need to recover this.
SERIOUSLY - Can they get anything right??? This meant two seperate letters sent the same day - different envelopes (more cost) and will mean more work for someone there... Jeeeeez
I have to give them 5 days to sort it before I call them about it!!! I think to be honest I'm just going to ring them tomorrow as this is all a bit ridiculous now!!
Ok I'm off for my afternoon walk and going to ring the agency at 4pm - this no news is good news may be all well and good but I'm going a bit insane!!
