New DFW - Now my diary!!!

Thanks OBNW!!
Yesterday was a more postive day and I'm on the path now. It's very easy to let this stuff get you down but I need to pick back up!!
Right update. Now you're all gonna :rotfl: - my job seekers came through - I'm entitled to £4.58 a week!!!! I can apparently live on this according to the government and job seek (would love to know just how that even would help with petrol in car to do said job seeking!!)
I have a mortgage, I am 30, I live on my own and have no other income. My friends son was living at home and no outgoings like me - and he was getting £47.00 a week (he's back to work now though!) ... I need to get there quick!!
On phoning them - they apparently do need my bank statements so I think this is an error and I seem to think they think I have a large savings pot (oh how I wish!!)
Anyway - onto more positive things - I am just about to go shower. I have to go to my old employer for them to fill in my mortgage insurance form -not looking forward to that. I just feel weird about the place. I then need to go to the Job centre to take Bank statements, although I'm keen to do this when I get another statement in (I'm missing one from 2 months ago ) but also want to get going on it and I think that's the best thing to do.
This afternoon I have two interviews - well one at recruitment agency and another a marketing type agency - both in London - but this is all on the path to getting there!!
Had a fab night out with boyfriend last night at a gig (prebooked before redundancy) and to be fair - was just what the doctor ordered. Also helped me to realise what areas of London I could easily travel to for work... so a multi functional trip out you might say
I also have the luckyness of parking at my ex ex work (prior to the last position where I was made redundant) - which means I can park in a town all day and it's not going to cost me!
Right i must get started on this stuff!! So I'm off to shower!!! Smell ya all later xxLBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never

Well its either laugh or cry!! What is that all about?
I'm really glad to see you are feeling more positive!! (back to the Emms we know and love!)
Glad you had a good time the gig (who was it??) sometimes, we all need just a few hours 'away from reality' to re-charge our batteries and refresh our minds. It seems to have worked for you.
I wish I could wave a magic wand for you and conjure up a job - I still think one will turn up that will be right up your street!
Well, I am off now to stare at my spreadsheet again! :rotfl:
Hope you have a good day, Nats xstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -
£4.58?! OH MY GOD! I really do hope you get that sorted asap!!!
Ooo free parking. Now that's a perk. I didn't realise how crucial it is until I started work last week. I didn't get my first choice location (no parking), but with my current location, lovely safe staff car park which has saved me lots of money and hassle!Debt @ LBM 29/12/08 - £49044! Thanks Nats & Retro
Well to make you :rotfl:even more I receive a letter saying "We recently sent you a letter saying you are not entitled to JSA, this is a computer generated letter and should be disregarded, we need more information from you ... blah blah blah"
So not only do they give me £4.58 a week, they then think they haven't given me anything - don't you love the government!! Why not ask for my bank statements at the beginning to save all this postage and paper?!?!
(Oh and I get the letter on Wednesday - 29th, stating you have 2 weeks from the date of this letter - which was dated 23rd...) Amongst the council tax office loosing my paperwork the other day too... its no wonder we're in a mess in this country!!!
Rant over - and back to more positive - Nats, t'was the Bassment Jaxx - they were flippin AWESOME DUDE!!!!! (sorry watched finding nemo the other day....) - I would recommend them to anyone who loves their music... they were soooooo good!!! Was at a small venue too, so was quite intimate and tickets were only £22.50 each and like I said bought and paid for ages ago!!
And you're right Nats - I do really feel the right thing will come up - I'm a big believer in fate and sometimes things happen for a reason.
Retro - definitely about the parking... previously I worked in a town that was approx £8 a day to park in - flippin would really skint you out if you didn't take it into account.
Yesterday was a busy benefit type day - sorting out all of the previous mentioned stuff and at least its done now!!! The interview on Wed was a load of old codswallop (love to know where that word originates from??) ... completely mis advertised - they were looking for sales people to start at entry level... (rubbish money!) .. but hey its all experience and has made me realise where I don't want to travel to in London!!and to find out exactly what the job is before I travel!!
Right gotta get showered, go get a few bits food shopping, am writing a list and not deviating!! (oo big word for a friday!) and then will have a job hunt online this afternoon (give them chance to post jobs today!)
See ya all later

Ola mi amigos..... how are you all? :hello: I hope everyone had a good weekend??
I forgot to do the Euro millions on friday and wooohooo its a rollover again - reckon its just waiting for me to do it!!
Well I did well on food shopping on friday - had a list and didn't deviate - well apart from 2 items which were half price so worth sticking in the freezer for future! Am good now at spotting a 'real' bargain and not those pretend ones!!
Well benefits wise - I am still banging head against a brick wall, the council tax send me a letter on friday asking for copies of things they have already had!!! Seriously getting the hump with them now. Am not being stroppy and will wait until I actually am awarded the benefit, but I will make a complaint in writing...
However I am going to pre-empt a problem with my JSA and ring them tomorrow to check they've received everything I took in to job centre last week.
Anyway - I'm going to keep a record of my spendings, kinda lapsed in April... with all that happened and disappearing to mallorca for a week, it just fell to the bottom of my list... which is wrong!!
There is potential news on job front but I don't want to jinx things - so will update when I know a bit more... fingers crossed!!!
Off to nose in other peoples diaries

Morning Emms - What a palarver getting your benefits sorted. Good on you for being so in control and pre-empting possible problems - were you always like this or has it been kick-started by being a DFWer?
Spending diary - Hmm  I log everything on my spreadsheet (OBNW would be proud that I am no longer carrying round an A4 size diary!) but I have defiitely missed something somwhere and am about £25 adrift! Hey-ho!! :rotfl:It was a shock though when I added up all my "extra spends" since starting my spreadsheet!! How much!!! ?

Hey Emms - sorry I've been AWOL recently - just been a busy wee bee and not had much time for MSEing - tut tut!!
Glad there's some positive news in the pipeline with the job! I'll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for ye!

Thanks Rags, Nats and Laura!!
Nats - Always been a bit like it(part of my geeky side), but over the last few years I realised you had to be ahead of people/ companies. Years ago when I split with then-partner and had to sort the house - I went through so much trouble, the mortgage company at the time ruined my credit file with a 'computer error' and since then I've just learned that you need to keep on top of things (it took so long to sort that I lost faith in things just working out).
I actually called Job Seekers today - they could see on the screen it had been posted but takes 2-3 days from posting at the job centre to reach them. She was really nice and said to call back tomorrow.
I also called the Council Tax again  and stated very politely about my recent problems and could they just check that they don't need anything else from me, before I head there tomorrow. I really need to get a job quick - i can't take all the carp that goes with the benefits!!!
Laura - don't apologise - I went AWOL for a few weeks too! Only just getting back into the swing of diary entry and even then I do rest off at weekends!!
So I did the spend diary earlier - that's good - I have been being 'better' than I thought I was... I also feel a lot more in control when that's uptodate... I've yet to transfer it to a shiny spreadsheet though Nats
I'm just about to go catch up on some tv - should check in again tomorrow though!
