Ola my lovelies :) IT'S FRIDAY!!!! Not that it makes much of a difference to me lol!!! But I get to lie in with the boyfriend a bit tomorrow :D

Thanks Retro - yes bits and bobs are slowly getting sorted, and I feel ok about things... was very firm with council tax people the other day - i made the lady sign and date that I'd bought everything in! I shan't be pushed around any more... I may even send in a bill for my petrol :p;)

OK - job news - I had an interview on wednesday and although it went well, I came out of there a little confused as although it would have been a great role - I'm not sure it was the right role for me, would have taken me away from the career I've been heading down and kinda 'lucked' into a few years ago. I do really still want to do said career but the conscience was saying you need a job. Well the guy had 2 more people to interview today, but the agency called this morning, he cancelled those interviews and has promoted someone internally - so I guess fate decided it for me (and to be honest I'm grateful).

I did apply for a couple of jobs online yesterday though - more suited to my skills and down the route I would like to continue to take. One agency called within 10 mins of me applying which means at least my CV is 'working'.

Called job seekers yesterday - they do have my details all there (wooohooo) it should be looked at over the weekend, apparently people are doing overtime due to so much work - the irony that redundancy for lots of people is creating overtime for others ... strange old world we live in!!

Onto more fun things - went Cinema on wednesday (orange 2for1) ... saw Wolverine - Brilliant and Hugh Jackman ... think I may ask for a Hugh Jackman calendar next year - Beckham's getting a bit boring...

Night with the girls last night - which was good... just feel I've not got much to say at the moment with no job and all. But it was still good to see them. I think my turn to host next time!!

I'm off to other peoples diaries!! Sees you all laters... alligators ;) ...

    xx

Hi Emms - just read your first post and this last page... Good luck with the job hunt and benefits sorting - I know how frustrating it can be. I would have thought you should get at least £64.30 contributions based job seekers - and if you have no disqualifying savings - you should get housing benefits etc. Have you checked out what you should get at the website entitledto - May be worth having a look and then challenging them on that. Don't forget to claim for all interview expenses in advance too (have to do a second form too!)

Every little helps and all that. Hope you get a job soon! I finished work the same day as you - and I am bored out of my brains!

    Hi Savingholmes

Thanks for that - I didn't know anything about interview expenses, and being that I spent quite a bit on oyster card for interview into london the other week, I feel that its a good way to go... I do think i'm entitled to the £64.30 like you say - they're just so slow at sorting things at the moment, and being they post everything second class - its not exactly surprising!!

Well good weekend was had - quiet and very MSE - didn't spend much at all (not that I have it to spend of course ;)) Bit of gardening on saturday and housework yesterday. Been job hunting online this morning... still not much out there :( ... but I'm not giving up!!

Got to go 'sign on' this afternoon - and take back washing line prop to argos, I bought it in late April - its broke already and its the second one to break on me - its was only £7 but its the principal!!

Right I will pop in on diaries this evening - got lots to do!! (how did i work before ???)

    OLA!! :hello:

Good news on the signing on ... my next appt is 2 weeks monday just gone - which is a bank holiday - so I get a 'free pass' and don't have to go for another month!! Hopefully I'll have a job by then and won't have to go at all!! ***prays quietly in the corner***

Need to get out to some more agencies, and I think I'll do that tomorrow. Did receive a positive response to an online application monday - which meant filling out a very loooooooong application form yesterday ... it would be nice to at least get an interview out of it to be fair!!

Still not heard on job seekers, if nothing comes today in the post I am going to chase as I'm getting a little worried... I sent off mortgage insurance form as instructed with the ABI1 form (job centre form) to follow, as the job centre can't fill that out without my actually receiving job seekers and the right amount!!... oooooo its all so complicated.

Today is my dad's birthday and I feel a little guilty that all I could get him was a CD.... but I know he'd not be happy if I spent money I didn't have... he's good like that... I can hopefully make up for it when I get a job!!!

Its worried me a little though as I have the boyfriends 30th in June and the exciting present I had plans of getting him is slowly going out of the window with no job .... :(

So I guess today is a bit of a down day ... I'm going to have them... but I'm not going to let them be an on-going thing... just know if I can't be honest on here about my feelings... where can I ?!!?

B/F is worrying me a bit... it's weird as I think he likes me ... but it always seems to be me asking to see him. He always leaves making plans til the last minute and then I'm busy catching up with friends... If I didn't ask to see him - then I wouldn't see him at all!!! ... I know I'm probably reading into things as I have all this time on my hands... I also feel that I'm constantly fitting in with his plans and he changes nothing to try and fit me in... Not sure what to do really.

Anyway - off to old style boards for some food shopping hints and to meal plan... Promise to be a bit cheerier tomorrow!!

    xx

Hi Emms - hope you get your benefits sorted soon! and good luck with those applications. It can be hard to keep ringing the agencies (I know as I have to do it too) but it is worthwhile in the end. Hope you get sorted soon!

  • Aaawww Emms, sorry you're having a rotten day my love! But you're right - you're bound to have the odd one or 2 thrown in for good measure unfortunately!

On the boyf front - I agree with Rags, methinks men are just generally more lazy/complacent when it comes to relationships? Try just backing off a bit for a few days, and I'm sure he'll come running! I know game playing is never ideal, but to throw another cliche into the equation "actions speak louder than words" - if you're anything like me, you won't want to challenge him on it, because when you say it out loud, it always feels as though we come across as the desparate, needy girlfriend - but then if you do nothing about it, it only feeds the insecurities!

Anyways - enough of the ramble! Good luck with all of the applications etc - I'm sure your luck is just about to turn!

    xx

    Thanks Rags, Savingholmes and Laura

Well I'm still applying - just plugging at it. Still nothing from jobseekers, but I have decided if nothing comes in todays post - due at 12.30ish... then I will give them a call to find out.

Agencies putting cv forward for things - so fingers crossed...

Savingholmes - you're so right - it can get a little demotivating... I'm lucky all the ladies I've met in the agencies are really nice so its not too much of a chore - I just don't want to get on their nerves but do want to be at the forefront of their mind should they get a job in.

Rags and Laura on the boyfriend you're both right - I've decided for a bit I'm not gonna ask to see him - he can do the running... and essentially I did mention it the other week - he knew something wasn't quite right (I wear my heart on my sleeve) and I just said it always feels like I'm asking you to do stuff, to which I think he meant going out... which I'm not really bothered about - I don't have the money obviously and know he's not exactly flush so I'm not one of those who expects their OH to pay. I did then explain I just meant spending time together and doing cheap stuff is fine by me.

He took it well but did say 'well I don't ask as you're always busy in the week'... I thought yes I've always kept busy, and you don't ask to see me til the last minute!!!! We don't have Saturdays/ Sundays together as he has his children then, so I'm kinda thinking the week is when we would see each other.

Laura - you're right - essentially its game playing a bit and that's not me... but as I have already said something, then I guess I'm more proving a point more than game playing ;) ... will update you if it actually has any effect! lol!!

Right I'm off to make some lunch and then pack up the car with some rubbish stuff for the dump.
