    THANK YOU EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!

and thank you all for the morale boosts and encouragement during my 'going a bit insane' time off - was really starting to get to me the other week!!! :o You really are all :A

Things are looking up - I have been in contact today with job seekers and all back dated stuff will be being paid. Along with speaking to Council tax - and I'm due just under £500 from them next week which is backdated money for housing benefit for the rent side of my shared ownership. :T This is all money I have been paying out of my redundancy sum for the last 2 months, so will be able to put it back. I've obviously got to cover myself for the next month until I get paid from new job - but it means I will actually have some redundancy money left over.

Until I work out exactly what that will be - I'm not sure how I'm going to use it all, but it does mean I should finally have some sort of emergency fund and be able to seriously concentrate on my 0% credit card, and once that is gone, hopefully overpaying my loan.

This all really helps to as I have a few birthdays in June too. Once the first full wage is in and birthdays out of the way - I can do a new SOA and really start to budget myself a lot better than I have ever been able to do before.

I've realised just how little I can live on the last few months because I have had to. Been a bit of an eye opener if I'm honest!!

Anyway update on the weekend - it was lovely - spent some quality time with BF, child, and his family - they really seem to have accepted me now. They were never funny with me, just wary I think.

We also had some quality time together on Tuesday - and its help me to realise that I am a lucky girl. I think a lot of my insecurities lately have been because of the no job scenario - I saw Doctor Hilary talking about it on GMTV and he said redundancy can cause all sorts of emotions as you rely on those closest to you. I'm never great when I've got too much time on my hands to think about things :o :rotfl:

Right I'm off out for my daily walk - I'll have to do that at lunchtimes next week! How good to be able to say that.

Thanks again you guys - you've all been brilliant!!! :A:A

Hi Little Emms - really great to hear your news! Hope the job turns out how you want it to - who knows what opportunities will flow from it in future! Great that you are finally getting some back pay form the govt too!

I know what you mean about holding on to redundancy money... we have savings we could pay off some debt but right now I'd rather have the security blanket of leaving them where they are... I think with the low transfer rate and 0% it just about works out better anyway!

    Thanks SavingH and Rags

Rags - don't worry I'll definitely call you as I don't own any stilleto's.. my back can't take the heel :o

SavingH - you're so right - I asked the question of other DFW when I first joined here - the savings v's debt question - if you read Martins pages - he's all for throwing at your debt. But the only debt I need to make a dent in at the moment is the 0% card - so in fact I'm better off holding onto an emergency fund in my ISA. Especially as my car is 13 years old and my boiler is I think near on 20 years old... I think I will give myself a emergency fund limit then anything over that I will throw at the debt!!

    Happy happy friday everyone!

LittleEmms Log - Debt date (not star date ;)) 29 May 2009....

(No I haven't been to see the new Star Trek.. I have no idea why.... :o)

Ok today I been a busy bee, went to job centre to officially "sign off"..... and do you know what - neither of the two people I saw actually said Congratulations/ Well done on getting a new job... :( so glad that for now I don't have to go back to that place. :T

Took P45 to agency - starting off temping for them before I go to the full contract.

Went food shopping, got good bbq stuff for tomorrow - BF and boy coming over. Funny how you can nearly get swung by their bbq stuff - they think they can charge you more for their marinade!! OOoo question - does anyone know if charcoal can go off? Its from last year?

Have also been for my 30 min walk again - really getting addicted now... obviously it helps when the sun is shining! ;)

Having a lovely chilled evening all to myself with a large glass of wine and chicken stirfry (home made of course!)

I hope you're all having a fab friday and the weather is as nice for you as it is me!

    LittleEmms x
