New DFW - Now my diary!!!

Hi Guys :hello:
Definitely more checking in needed, I've been soooooo busy, I know its not much of an excuse, but any internet time was spent on present searching for the 5 birthdays I have this month!! How are you all?? I hope all is well??
Nats - spreadsheet is working fab thank you!! Need to go and update actually as haven't done so these last few days
OBNW - Life has definitely been in the way - so much rushing around, I think I had all of 3 hours at home at the weekend. I did have a brilliant one though and didn't spend too much money (always good!)
I found fab presents for boyfriend, will update you all after his bday just incase he reads this.
OK so money update - am keeping within budgets for most things, birthdays are having to come out of redundancy money as I didn't have a job before to be able to put aside for these. But once I have this under control, I'm going to budget for birthdays so much better!!
Had a brilliant bargain yesterday - when getting birthday cards in town, I walked past a high street store with a beautiful summer dress in the window. Went in and had a look, knowing I had a £20 voucher still from my birthday for said shop. The dress was a bit more at £26 and fits lovely. I realised I had another voucher card, which I thought had about a £1 on it, and when the lady swiped it, it had £6, so I didn't pay anything for the dress and finally used my voucher from bday in February!! :j
Gonna go update spreadsheet and be back later with honest money update!! Also gonna go visit diaries as I've been a poor excuse for a DFW these last two weeks!!LBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never

Rags - yes five!! one of them was bro's 21st and bf is his 30th!! Also yes its fathers day!!
As for my dad - I usually go for a CD, or a shirt, or something light as he lives abroad so I have to post it and therefore anything heavy would cost soooo much in postage. Got him a nice shirt from shop which has two shirts for £25 at the moment.
Not very inspirational I'm afraidLBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never

Hi Emms - nice deal on the dress- it is lovely when somethng you want is covered by vouchers you already have!
For ideas on pressies you could always visit the special occasions board - especially the finished baskets thread - they have some fab ideas...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks SavingH... you're so right on the dress, was a result!! I never usually find things that just jump out at me, and when I tried it on - I really liked it! Knew it was worth keeping those vouchers and not just spending them for the sake of it!!
I have seen the finished baskets on the thread - they're great. I did a couple at xmas... I think I may look at them for a few birthdays I have later in the year. I have to admit I didn't find any inspriation on there for B/F's 30th... I think men are so much harder to buy for!!
However he is all sorted now... and I'm looking forward to giving him his pressies!!
Money side - all is ok, spreadsheet is uptodate and my fridge/ freezer are well stocked!
I hope everyone is well?

Ola mi amigos.... :hello:
Where is everybody?!?!I hope all is well in the busy worlds of my DFW buddies?? (I know I can't say much as I've not been here much either
).
Well weekend been & gone ... t'was BF birfaday - I think he had a lovely weekend even though he had to kind of look after me too, have been injured!... but he's been wonderful and I realised just what a lucky lady I am.
Money is going ok-ish... problem was injury lead to 3 days off work (I couldn't really walk let alone drive to work....) Did mean I still have nearly a full tank of petrol, but I really must give other half some petrol money bless him.
Got a few things to do to get back on track, but spreadsheet is upto date. Still until wages are regular, I can't work out what I can afford to pay out each month.
Have done a few reviews on Amazon - does anyone know how you go about getting anything out of these?
Hope you're all well??LBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never

Hola right back atcha amiga!!
How the injury? Hope it was nothing nasty!! Sounds like you had a good weekend in spite of that, glad OH still managed to enjoy his b/day! Go on then - spill it all - what was the big b/day surprise?!
My OH's b/day is next month, still debating what to get him!
Sorry - I've kinda fallen away from the diary side of life of late (and it shows in my bank balance!) - I finish up work on Friday though - so I promise to be a bit more faithful from here on in!I'm even considering starting a shiny new diary of my own!
xx0 -
:hello: Laura!!! Thank you for popping in and yes - do start a new diary so I can drop in on you too!!
How are you?!?!
I've pulled a ligament in my hip! - all part of my genetic disorder - I have weak collagen so have overstretched ligaments and weak muscles, etc.... doesn't take a lot unfortunately...
Welll...... I suppose its confession time as I spent a bit more than I should have... - I got him one of those experience days - Speed boating. He loves them and use to go a lot with his dad years when he was younger, I also found a lovely piece of memorabilia for his favourite programme as a keepsake item (being his 30th and boys are so hard to buy keep sakes for) What's your OH into hun? PM me if you want and I'll have a little thinky for you too??
Are you looking forward to finishing friday??

Can't, can't CAN'T wait!!!!!
They're not that bad really - but now that the end's in sight, I just can't wait! (In case you hadn't gotten that already!)
oooohhhhh - very good idea on the pressie front! Are you going with him on the experience day? I went sailing the other week with my work (not quite the same thing I know - but hey - they both involve boats!) What an amazing day - even better that it was a freebie!
I'm thinking of getting him a camcorder - but to be honest - I haven't a clue about them, I popped over to the techie board and some lovely people made a fair few suggestions - but I'm still confuddled!
Ouch to the hip - that's not so good hun - I hope you're taking care of yourself!
The new job still going so well?
