Too late Corkscrew now being demolished!
  • The little darlings have been busy today. I read the information for London Scottish - 10,000 people for the paperchase - and almost missed ours.

It seems that as of today all 198,000 eligible savers (for electronic route )have been sent the 2nd email. On Saturday the figure was 160,000 so they really got cracking in the last 48hours. They are now almost pleading with the 38,000 still to transact to get on with it and not wait for the 2nd email.

I should imagine that staff at Newcastle BS will be glad to see the back of us all. I wonder how many hours overtime they clocked up in the last 2 months. Do you think that somewhere in all the billions is a contingency fund for overtime and double time (for weekends) for both FSCS and non-FSCS staff ?

    Good afternoon guys and girls.

What a lot of chatterboxes we are on here. Just spent 20 minutes reading through my backlog of posts.

I see that another bank has gone into administration and FSCS are having to intervene again. Thank goodness this did not happen at the same time as Icesave. You can imagine the potential for muddle and cross wires and misinformation. If this sort of thing goes on FSCS will be recruiting more staff to deal with the paperwork outstanding from Icesave and whatever London Scottish needs. I had never heard of this bank. I thought it was a rugby team that used to play at the Athletic Ground in Richmond (Surrey) where I lived as a child.
They played ruggers at Twickers and ran the bank in their spare time.
Seriously though, reading the FSCS statement rre London Scottish, they have learnt their initiation lesson with Icesave and seem to have provided LS depositors with everything they need to know right from day one.
