BTW, is that the Cat & Fiddle on the Buxton-Macclesfield road? Used to take an evening ride over there on my Hetchins via Hazel Grove, Whaley Bridge and Buxton, back home via Macclesfield and Prestbury. And on 72" fixed wheel, (but on 18-year old legs!).

    Happy days! :D
That's the one! Tough enough in a car LOL

Sounds like Blackadder, but was it?
It's one of many from Amistupid who worked closely with Ben Elton....

For a scarier trip. how about the Tan Hill in winter!

Cycled that one, too, on a tandem, but in June. Great descent down to Brough.

However, screams from Stoker (her ont' back) still ring in my ears! :D:D

amistupid, are you trying to get us all the sack ? !!! ;)

(I had to press backspace prompto, any quality backsides there for later review?)
  • Good afternoon guys and girls.

What a lot of chatterboxes we are on here. Just spent 20 minutes reading through my backlog of posts.

I see that another bank has gone into administration and FSCS are having to intervene again. Thank goodness this did not happen at the same time as Icesave. You can imagine the potential for muddle and cross wires and misinformation. If this sort of thing goes on FSCS will be recruiting more staff to deal with the paperwork outstanding from Icesave and whatever London Scottish needs. I had never heard of this bank. I thought it was a rugby team that used to play at the Athletic Ground in Richmond (Surrey) where I lived as a child.

...Three safest jobs at the moment:-
    1) Undertakers
    2) Chocolate makers
    3) FSCS

If you can promise me the best bits of that view as I drive to the C&F, that's great:rotfl:. But some of them need pixelating! I'll be coming from Manchester direction, Suesie and Casabiosca too eh?

Nilrem, to get back to your point several pages ago, I initiated on the 25th Oct, money officially in my current account now.

re London Scottish- anyone else think it's curious that their head office is in Manchester i.e. not London, not Edinburgh? We're about half-way though! Loretta must be very busy at the moment....think that there aren't so many savers, as it's an institution that (according to local news reports today) dealt with high-risk lending.
