Just click on the link to the thread about them that I gave you (post #18) -the bit highlighted in blue;) The instructions are somewhere in the thread. There are pics too. I think they're a brilliant idea.

Elona - Spicy wedges sound good, what spices do you use ? (having sorted out mine today and discovered things i never knew i had)

D&DD we have thought of your suggestion but I feel so huge, achy and useless at the moment that I keep putting that suggestion off! The midwife suggested it to me too. She reckoned we should do it after my membrane sweep today. We shall see!
Hugs to those of you who were thinking of me yesterday. I was just so worn out after my shopping trip that I didn't even read yesterday's thread, and then DD came home from school and that was the computer chair occupied for the rest of the day! :rotfl:
Oh and since I went out yesterday there's been a kind of black thing that looks like a fly that keeps obscurring my vision! Everytime I try to read something on here it floats in front of my vision 'til I look to the side and it drifts away. What is it?? It's driving me mad! It's not on my contact lens cos I took that out and cleaned it, and I can still see the thing with no lens in anyway!
Well I did the bit of ironing, still no baby! :rotfl:
I still have to do the washing up but I have filled the sink and put the crusty bits in to soak!
Looking in the laundry basket I thought there was just enough to warrant turning on the WM so I'm off to do that now. It's a sunny day here but probably not warm enough to dry the washing, and I don't fancy standing out there hanging it out so I will sit by the airer and put it all on that.
Bye for now.I'm so sorry if you were enjoying this thread and mine is the last post!!

Bargainbird I never buy for my sisters children at Christmas. Their birthdays are in November, and so is my son's. We make a bit more effort on birthdays instead. They get so much at Christmas that not one of the children has ever noticed. The oldest is 16 now!
On the same subject, my SIL has no money, and rang me to ask if it was OK if she only sent £5 for my son's birthday. As she was coming up to visit I asked her to bring him a couple of Kinder Eggs instead. £1 spent and some attention from his aunty meant more to him than all the money that popped through the door in cards. He was delighted, so I reckon some home made presents and a bit of a fuss will go down well. Something for us all to remember in the runup to Christmas.
Errm, Soapy, really sorry but that's how my ds arrived too. My husband came home from sea after a month away from home, and ds was born on the Thursday:o
Marie, I hope your daughter's toothache is sorted.
Take care all of you!0 -
Morning all!
Hope everyone is doing well. Thank you to all who mentioned Tristan *hugs*.
stejb - hugs to your DD, I had a miscarriage too and the sense of loss never really goes, but it does get liveable with.
Taurusgb - I am keeping everything crossed for your son!
dirtyepic - wishing you all the luck in the world for the next exciting chapter of your life
Soapy - still feeling like an OS expectant aunt here :rotfl: hope the ironing worked!!
I feel so sad about Woolworths. In my town it is right in the centre, virtually the first thing you see when you come out of the train stn or the bus stn, so it would be awful if it closed.. Would be like the town dying..
I forgot to say - I sent my OH out on Sunday to Morrisons at 1530 so he could take advantage of them marking down and he came back 'mock' staggering thru the door.. he had taken his jacket off one arm and was pretending he had been mugged.. His reason? Apparently the ladies at Morrisons who were also there for marked down bargains were relentless and despite him being 6ft 4, they elbowed and pushed and used their trolleys as weapons to get in there first..... He claimed to be completely traumatised and says he won't be trying that again next week..
Our tescos order arrived last night so that was great, can make some more hobnobs now the porrige oats have arrived! We ended up having fish and chips for dinner and wowwww they tasted good... Been months since we had them. The cat was happy too 'cos we saved her a little fish. She is sat on the desk at the moment, watching the words come up on screen. If I move the cursor in circles, her head follows it, it's quite amusing really!!:rotfl:
We failed with our October grocery budget - I thought we might when the month started so badly. £20 over but will start again today as Ian was paid yesterday so it's a new month. He made a start on clearing the desk and boxes behind me, but found some old letters I wrote him when he was working away about 12 yrs ago so ended up sitting there and reading them for hours..
Dinner tonight is corned beef easy quiche. I can smell the bread cooking and the washing is in the washing machine as it's bedding change day.
Found a book my OH will love on Amazon so used some of the vouchers I have saved up from doing surveys to buy it so really pleased with that. Have to look for a new steamer now, our tefal one fell in the washing up water for the second time (I didn't know it had been immersed once before as my OH neglected to mention it.. he said 'Well the first time I just I plugged it in and it worked so didn't think there was a problem' ). Anyway, I don't want to electrocute anyone, so I have made him throw it away and we are lost without it, we steam every vegetable we eat!to all who need them today.

Well the washing is out under the back cover, it probably wont dry but it wont get any wetter under there, and it smells lovely and fresh when I bring it in.
I am another who wont use the TD unless ABSOLUTELY necessary, costs too much in electric.
Not raining here though at the mo but give it time
taurusgb got everything crossed for him, hope it comes to nothing and disapears as sore throats do sometimes:D and wish him luck for the show from me x
Dirtyepic sorry about the redundancy and I hope you and Caroline73 find other jobs soon.
Hows it going beth hope you are taking it easy x
Soapy I am another one who thought you had gone in, err whats a membrane sweep
Diva I know what you mean about Woolies, its a shame when the "old" stores close down, my sister and I used to love going in there when we were children, and gawp at the sweets, and hope if mum had any money left after the shopping, we would get a little pointy white paper bag with a few in as a treat.
OOOO just looked up at the TV and there are a lot of naked people cavhorting around at the Zoo  apparently they have done a calendar, gave me quite a turn....well you dont expect to see that at this time of day do you :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: They all looked very fit though;)
Ah well enough of this frivolity, got loads to do
Anne

Afternoon all.
Taurusgb, I hope all goes well for your DS2 and the cold holds off til after the play.
Dirtyepic, sorry to hear about you being made redundant; I hope you can find another job soon.
Good luck with the interviews also to Caroline73.
My cold is definitely taking hold. It's difficult to even breathe at the moment, so I'm not doing anything remotely strenuous. I want to be rid of it by the weekend as Mr LW has next week off work as he needs to use up his annual leave.
He's got his rota for December already, and he's on Early shift on Dec 24 (work from home and finish at 15:30) and Late on Dec 29 (not have to be in the office til 09:30 but work as late as necessary to get any requested changes done). I think the boss has tried to give him a decent break over the holiday period - which is ironic in a way, as we don't really "do" Xmas. But it means he'll be able to take it easy for a bit, as he works very hard.
I think we'll have good ol' Bangers'n'Mash for dins; we have some Quorn sausages in the freezer and Mr LW seems to enjoy them, and it's a meal with minimal work involved.
Right, I'm off to get myself another hanky. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi all, well today will be a no spend day at least but not so good on OS or saving cash. Yesterday I did well getting in the reduced aisles at tesco and picking up chickens and other meat for hearty winter stews.
So at least lunch today for me and DH (working from home today) consisted of HM bread with pate made from yellow stickered fresh mackeral ovenbaked whilst I was doing bread and roast chicken yesterday. (saving leccy)
Heating back on though, had to go to GP this morning with ANOTHER bout of bad earache thats been going on since sunday. He gave me a spray and said I had to keep them warm and dry and that my immune system was weak and i needed to wrap up a bit more.
Doing a tesco order and just discovered that flour has shot up in price - anyone any tips for cheapest place for strong wholemeal bread flour?DEBT: £500 credit card £800 Bank overdraft

Will catch up soon...
Arghhhh! My kitchen looks like a bomb has it it (a flour bomb, lol) Making pies for dinner tonight (mince and veg) with some of the mixture for the lasagne. So that part is made, also making the pastry, cannot get it to do a crumbly mixture at all, could be the vegan marge I'm using? Also making up some more hobnobs (mixture made last night), all at the same time and my kitchen is TINY. I also seem to manage to use an excessive amount of dishes every time I make anything, so there are dirty dishes on almost every available surface, along with a bowl of pastry mix and a bowl of hobnob mix...
I just out the DW on this morning and could already fill it at least twice over (it's a bench top small one). Had to abandon all and come and have a cuppa and a hobnob to calm myself down.
Off to go and face the hell again...0
